Big or Small, Films Coming to OTT Within One Month

0

The OTT releases of the recent movies have given great surprise for movie lovers. The films of late are arriving way too early on OTT and the gap between theatrical release and OTT release is way too small. Big or small, almost all films are coming on OTT platforms within one month.

Recently, Kalyan Ram’s Devil came on OTT in just two weeks. Venkatesh’s Saindhav arrived on OTT in just 3 weeks. Even a biggie like Salaar arrived on OTT in just 4 weeks. The same is the case with Guntur Kaaram which will release this Friday. All these films that released recently are making digital premieres either at sharp 4 weeks or even before.

Even now, pan India or big-budget films are streaming within 4 weeks and an exception is made only in the case of Hindi versions where makers are giving 8 8-week theatrical release window. This trend is very dangerous for upcoming movies as the films and theatres are suffering due to reduced audience interest, and limited repeat audiences. Audiences are thronging to theatres only in case of a very good word of mouth and If a film gets average or decent talk, then the audience is not showing any interest like older days.

The early OTT streaming has led to a few films failure to attract audiences to theaters even with positive talk. Only Bollywood is following this strict 8-week rule without failure. All South Indian industries are just following 4 weeks or even shorter window.

Dunki OTT streaming date and release partner

0

Dunki OTT streaming date is said to be locked. Shahrukh Khan’s recent comedy-drama Dunki is making its way to the small screens. The film was released alongside Salaar last December and will be streaming on OTT platforms very soon. Dunki brought together the biggest combination of Bollywood in recent times with Raj Kumar Hirani joining hands with Shahrukh Khan.

There were massive expectations for the movie right from the day of the announcement. But the combo failed to create the magic on the big screen. The sad part is even promotions failed to excite the audience.

One of the main problems with Dunki was its genre which could not excite the audience and along with it, the competition with a mass entertainer like Salaar resulted in the film’s failure. Dunki failed to collect even half of Shahrukh’s recent blockbusters like Pathaan and Jawan.

While Dunki failed to reach the audience through its theatrical release, film lovers are eagerly waiting for the OTT release. The OTT streaming rights were bought by Jio Cinema and the streaming date is said to be 16th February.

Considering the budget the film works so big for Shahrukh Khan and Raj Kumar Hirani. They have produced the film, and making cost of the film is said to be in the range of 85Cr without their remunerations. The film has a huge non-theatrical business and decent theatrical numbers.

Pushpa Team Follows KGF Strategy

0

There have been some similarities between KGF and Pushpa. When the Allu Arjun starter was released, many people felt it had a similar kind of screenplay. However, the worlds of Pushpa and KGF were different and had their unique style and the only major commonality was that they followed a rags-to-riches theme. Like KGF part 1, Pushpa part 1 created a good impact in all languages. Now Pushpa 2 is on track to work like KGF 2.

Pushpa is said to be following the KGF strategy where the team does not end the franchise and they’ll give a lead for part 3 which will not start immediately. The teams are giving hints but not planning to release these films anytime soon.

Pushpa 2 is not the end of the franchise and Pushpa 3 will not start immediately also. The team is said to be ending Pushpa 2 with a lead for 3rd part. But 3rd part will not start immediately and will go on floors after a few years just like KGF 3. After KGF 2, there were a lot of anticipations on the third part but Yash has decided to work on other movies. He will be next seen in Geethu Mohandas’ Toxic.

Similarly, Allu Arjun also has a bunch of movies lined up before he even thinks of Pushpa 3. The actor will be seen in a bunch of pan-India movies with A- A-list director. So we can expect Pushpa 3 to take a minimum couple of years more.

Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter Collections Takes Flight on Weekends, But Grinds on Weekdays

Fighter, the high-octane aerial action film starring Hrithik Roshan and directed by Siddharth Anand soared high on Republic Day weekend, raking in a massive ₹115 crore, with republic day hitting a phenomenal ₹41 crore. However, weekdays saw a sharp decline, indicating a weak hold in mass centers compared to urban audiences. By the first extended week’s end, the film collected a decent but underwhelming ₹140 crore.

Surprisingly, the second weekend offered a glimmer of hope with fighter collections jumping to ₹10 crore and ₹11.5 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Unfortunately, that momentum fizzled out on the second Monday, plummeting to a mere ₹3 crore. While Tuesday showed stable collections, the total 13-day net domestic box office stands at ₹172 crore, decent but not great for a film of its scale.

Current estimates, given the trend, predict a final haul of Fighter Collections within the ₹200-220 crore range, falling short of initial expectations of exceeding ₹500 crore. Was the lack of mass appeal due to the film’s content, marketing, or overall execution? Industry analysts are closely watching Fighter’s trajectory to understand its long-term implications and the evolving preferences of the Indian audience.

Devara and Game Changer Clash on Release Date

0

It has been 2 years since SS Rajamouli’s RRR was released and that was the last audience got to see NTR on the big screen. Ram Charan made his last movie appearance in Acharya which was released a month later. After this, both Tarak and Charan have been busy with Devara and Game Changer respectively. Both films will released later this year and there are heavy anticipations on when they will release

Pawan Kalyan’s OG release date is officially out and it will hit the screens on 27th September. Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 has been announced for 15th August and if that gets postponed, Nani’s Saripodaa Sanivaram along with Indian 2 will release on Independence Day. Apart from these, a big multi-starrer film Singham Again is releasing on the same date. So Devara will not look for this date.

Game Changer will also not be released on Independence Day as Shankar’s Indian 2 is looking for that date. The only option for both releases now is October Dasara time as no other biggies have been announced their arrival. We can expect one of these two biggies to release then.

If the Dasara date gets missed, then the next option is only Christmas or 2025 summer. With both the films facing a similar problem, Devara and Game Changer are in a race against time to lock their release dates.

Vishwambhara or The Raja Saab: Only One for Sankranthi Release

0

Like every year, Sankrathi 2025 is going to be a heated one as well. Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara has already announced its arrival for the festive season and a few other films in the making stages are also planning to do so. Nagarjuna has already announced that he will bring a movie to the theatres next Sankranthi as well. Prabhas’ Raja Saab is also in line for the festival release.

Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara is a big-budget film that has already announced a 10th January 2025 release. Prabhas fans also want Raja Saab to release on Sankranthi 2025. Producer TG Vishwa Prasad has given clarity on this now. He said the shooting of the film will be completed this year and Sankranthi release depends on UV schedules.

He directly mentioned that if UV Creation’s Vishwambhara is released for Sankranthi then there is no chance of the Raja Saab to release at the same time. Prabhas also does not want to release with Vishwambhara as the producers behind UV Creation are his closest friends and he only introduced them to the industry with Mirchi.

If Vishwambhara gets postponed from Sankranthi due to pending CG work or any other issues then only Raja Saab will arrive on Sankranthi. Only one will be released for the festive season and there is very little chance of Prabhas-Chiranjeevi clash.

Karthik Subbaraj Fails to Impress Vijay Once Again

0

After Vijay’s announcement that he’s moving away from movies with one last film after The G.O.A.T, there’s been a lot of speculation over who will direct Vijay’s last film. Multiple names including Karthik Subbaraj, Vettrimaran, and H Vinoth are doing rounds at the moment but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Karthik Subbaraj is one of the best filmmakers in the Tamil industry at the moment and is constantly working on giving a different experience to movie lovers instead of a regular commercial cinema. Recently with Jigarthanda Double X, he managed to win great critical acclaim as well as another superhit. The young director has been trying to work with Vijay for quite some time but the film is not materializing as Vijay is not impressed with his scripts.

After the blockbuster success of Jigarthanda Double X, he prepared a script for Vijay and met Thalapathy for story sitting. Karthik Subbaraj was the frontrunner for Vijay’s last project but the buzz going on in Kollywood circles is that Karthik Subbaraj is not directing Vijay’s last film. Vijay is looking for other directors as he wasn’t impressed with the director’s script yet again.

Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s directorial project Lal Salaam is all set to release on 9th February world wide. The action drama stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles but it is the extended cameo of Superstar Rajinikanth that has managed to create interest for the movie. The movie has very little buzz in Telugu states and the openings and public interest now depend on Superstar’s crowd pull and initial talk.

Rajinikanth plays a crucial cameo role in the film where he will have a screenspace of 30-40 minutes. For this brief appearance, Rajinikanth has reportedly received a remuneration of a whopping Rs 40cr. The audio launch of the movie was held recently where director Aishwarya and Superstar himself spoke at length about the movie’s unique concept.

The film follows the clashes that are ignited by a trivial incident during a cricket match which is manipulated by some to pit the Hindus against the Muslims which sends the village into chaos.

Aishwarya Rajinikanth is making a return to the director’s seat after nearly 5 years with Lal Salaam. The film’s music has been scored by AR Rahman. Cinematographer Vishnu Rangasamy and editor Pravin Baaskar are part of the technical team.
