After multiple hurdles, Vakeel Saab pre-release event finally took place in Hyderabad providing great joy for all. The movie, which is Pawan Kalyan’s first release in 3 years generated great hype ever since it was announced. And now, with this successful event, the buzz and anticipation for the movie have gone to great heights.
Producer Dil Raju, whose earlier requests for permission for the event were rejected was in great spirits throughout. In his heartfelt speech, he thanked Powerstar for this film as it would further amplify the great message in it.
Music director SS Thaman performed on three songs from the movie and thanked producer Dil Raju for providing him with a chance to work with Powerstar Pawan Kalyan. He was all praise for Pawan Kalyan and director Venu Sriram.

Pawan Kalyan’s speech as expected was the highlight of the Vakeel Saab pre-release event. In his heartfelt speech, Pawan Kayan mentioned that this was indeed a special movie for him. He mentioned that he has worked the hardest on this film as compared to his previous one. Speaking about the subject of the movie, he mentioned that it always has been his conscious effort to ensure women characters in his film are respected throughout.
The event also marked the presence of Producers AM Ratnam, Bandla Ganesh, and Naveen Yerneni. Directors Krish, Harisha Shankar and Sagar Chandra who are set to work with Pawan Kalyan in the future were also present.
The movie stars Shruti Haasan, Nivetha Thomas, Anjali and Ananya Nagalla star in key roles . Directed by Venu Sriram and produced by Dil Raju, Vakeel Saab will release on 9th April worldwide.

Republic teaser is out
The much-awaited Sai Dharam Tej starrer Republic teaser is out. The first impression of the trailer is quite good and the movie looks fresh packed with political drama. Adding to this, the presence of Ramya Krishna and Jagapathi Babu for sure has taken the excitement high.
The teaser features a monologue about Indian democratic system and how politicians yield supreme power over the civil servants and courts. Ramya Krishna is seen playing the role of a politician while Aishwarya Rajesh plays Sai Dharam Tej’s love interest. Deva Katta, who is known to mix political elements with commercial elements effectively has been working really hard on ‘Republic’. This genre is definitely his strength as proven by ‘Prasthanam’.
The movie is set to release on 4th June and is bankrolled under JB Entertainments banner. The music is scored by Manisharma and if the teaser is any indication of things to come, we are sure in for a ride!
Now Karthikeya turns NIA officer
Looks like investigative thrillers are the flavour of the season in the Telugu film industry. In order to fit into the roles, our actors are donning the role of security forces, detectives, etc. The latest entrant to this club is young actor Karthikeya Gumakonda who will be playing the role of an NIA officer in his upcoming movie.
Directed by Sri Saripalli, this movie is based on certain real-life incidents and on the lives of actual investigative officer. Speaking about the project, the director said, ” I used to stay at CBI colony in Jubliee Hills, so I saw how all the bureaucrats walk and talk. One day I thought, what if these people face identity crises? The story stemmed from there. I have written a fictional narrative.”
Karthikeya, whose last movie Chavu Kaburu Challaga failed to impress the audience desperately needs a hit. His portrayal of an NIA officer in this upcoming film might just be the push his career needs. Director Sri said that the reason he chose the RX 100 actor for this role was that his physique and body language looked apt for the role.
Incidentally, in the last week’s release, actor Nagarjuna was also playing the role of an NIA officer. Actor Adivi Sesh who played a similar role in Goodachari will reprise the same in his upcoming film Goodachari 2.

Always wanted to make ANR biopic
King Nagarjuna who’s busy promoting his recent release ‘Wild Dog’ recently revealed that he always wanted to make ANR biopic. Nagarjuna further revealed that due to certain inhibitions he kept away from working on it.
“I always wanted to make ANR Biopic. But I am bit scared to attempt it. But when we are afraid, we will do it much carefully. It is always on Cards,” said Nagarjuna when asked if he had any plans on working on his father’s biopic. The question was posed to him at a recent media interaction during the promotions of ‘Wild Dog’.
Tollywood has been experimenting with biopics for the last few years. Movies such as ‘Mahanati’ and NTR Kathanayakudu’ released during this time portraying the life of Savitri and NTR respectively. The trend of biopics have been prevelant in Bollywood for quite some time. It would be interesting to see if the Telugu film industry also comes up with new projects portraying life of silver screen legends.

Mohanlal starrer Drishyam 2 which released earlier this year on OTT received rave reviews and surpassed expectations. The prequel was also a huge success and was remade in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.

Akshay’s Covid diagnosis happened when he was shooting for Ram Setu. He will be seen playing an archeologist in this adventure film.
