Dil Raju’s nephew Ashish made his debut this Sankranti with Rowdy Boys. Billed as a youthful entertainer, the film failed to attract the audience and impress the critics. The film, despite the presence of Anupama Parameswaran and music by Devi Sri Prasad is showing a cold show at the theatres.
Meanwhile, Ashish has already signed on to his next project. The film will be titled ‘Selfish’ and will be directed by Kashi, who was an assistant director with Sukumar. Sukumar Writings and Dil Raju will jointly produce this film which will go on floors soon.
“Sukumar saw the photos and videos of Ashish and was impressed with his youthful looks. He was convinced that the role perfectly suits Ashish and has decided to produce the film jointly with me. We are planning to start the first schedule soon,” said Dil Raju.
Meanwhile, Ashish’s Rowdy Boys is running towards a flop status with not takers for the film even during the festive times. The theatrical value of the film is in the excess of Rs 10 crores. As per our sources, the Day 1 share is in the range of just Rs 85 lakhs on a percentage basis. With such a disappointing start at the box office and the AP government planning on restrictions after the festive season, the road to recovery looks impossible for Rowdy Boys.
