Dil Raju’s Rowdy Boys released for Sankranti and was promoted heavily by top stars of the industry. After such promotions, this action entertainer was expected to take the advantage of the festive season. The situation, however, has turned to be contrasting and the film had a very poor start at the box office.
Despite Devi Sri Prasad and Anupama Prameswaran being a part of this project, this movie featuring Ashish, the nephew of Dil Raju couldn’t draw crowds. The film had a disastrous start at the box office and failed to recover the rents on opening day in most of the theatres. Dilraju is not keen to announce the numbers and has instructed the distributors to not share the numbers with anyone.
The share is being calculated on a percentage basis for the opening day as well. The share of the film will be 50% off the net collection.
The theatrical value of the film is in the excess of Rs 10 crores. As per our sources, the Day 1 share is in the range of just Rs 85 lakhs on a percentage basis. With such a disappointing start at the box office and the AP government planning on restrictions after the festive season, the road to recovery looks impossible for Rowdy Boys.
