Mega Star Chiranjeevi on Monday announced that all the cine workers of Tollywood will be administered free COVID vaccine. Chiranjeevi added that this vaccination drive will be conducted by Corona Crisis Charity (CCC). CCC was established last year to take care of the emergency needs of all the cine workers of Tollywood whose lives got impacted due to Covid and the lockdown that followed.
Chiranjeevi, who is busy with the shoot of Acharya announced the above at a promotional event for Nagarjuna’s Wild Dog. He added that there was still a certain amount still left from the CCC charity drive last year. It is from this amount that the vaccination drive will be organized after consulting on the procedures from the authorities.

Tellavarithe Guruvaram to stream on OTT this month
Sri Simha and Chitra Shukla starrer Tellavarithe Guruvaram joins a list of movies all set to have their digital premiere in April. The romantic comedy that released on 27th March received thumbs down from the audience and critics alike. Now we hear that Tellavarithe Guruvaram to stream on OTT.
The movie is written by Nagendra Pilla and directed by Manikanth Gelli. It explores the dynamics of a couple set to get married the next morning. OTT platform Aha has bagged the digital rights for the movie.
The movie will premiere on Aha from the 3rd week of April. Another March release Chavu Kaburu Challaga is also set to stream on Aha. It will release on the digital platform on the 16th of this month. Vijay’s cycle ride becomes the talk of the town
Thalapathy Vijay who’s ruling the box office at Kollywood has once again become the center of attraction. The ‘Bigil’ actor earlier on Tuesday arrived at the polling booth to cast his vote. While this may appear to be a usual thing, Vijay’s choice of transportation amused one and all. Vijay’s cycle ride has indeed taken everybody by surprise.
This cycle ride has got the entire state discussing the reason behind it. Some sections are saying it was just a jolly ride as the polling booth was near his home. There is another section that claims there is a deeper meaning to it. They say that Vijay chose to arrive on cycle as a mark of protest against BJP. It is being said that Vijay’s cycle ride was a show of anger on rising fuel prices.
Whatever be the reason, Thalapathy’s cycle ride created quite some ripples in national media as well as social media.
Producers setting up new offices in UA region
Uttara Andhra (UA) region, which has now emerged as the 2nd largest territory in Tollywood revenue wise is seeing a large influx of Tolly producers. The region has emerged as a strong performer in the recent past for producers and distributors replacing Ceeded at second position. Almost all big producers are now in plans of setting up their offices in UA region. Warangal Srinu has already started works on his new base. Srinu, who came to limelight as a distributor of many big-ticket films in Nizam is now eyeing UA region.
Similarly, Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie makers are also setting up new offices in UA region. Anil Sunkara (AK Entertainments) is another big name planning to set up base in UA region. It is being reported that Vizag will be the new base for all these production houses. The UA business will be monitored and handled from these offices.
Recently, a number of Tollywood biggies performed exceptionally well in UA. This is the main reason Tollywood biggies are considering this move of setting up new offices in this region
Pawan Kalyan appreciates Vakeel Saab team after special screening
Power Star Pawan Kalyan recently watched Vakeel Saab at a special screening at his home. The screening organized by the makers was attended by few close associates of the actors. After watching the final output, Pawan appreciated the Vakeel Saab team for their efforts. He also expressed confidence in the movie’s performance.
Vakeel Saab is set for a worldwide release on 9th April. Fans, who are going to witness Power Star on screen after 3 years can’t control their excitement. The advance bookings have already started and if the trends are an indicator, the movie is all set for a great opening.

Aditi Balan roped in for Shaakuntalam
Tamil actress Aditi Balan has been roped in for Shaakuntalam. Starring Samantha Akkineni and Dev Mohan in lead roles, Shaakuntalam is being directed by Gunasekhar. The movie is based on the play Shakuntala written by Kalidasa. It also features Mohan Babu in a key role.
Aditi, who earlier impressed the audience with her powerful role in Aruvi will be seen in a crucial role in Shaakuntalam as well. Earlier Eesha Rebba was considered for this role but she walked out of the movie due to certain differences. The titular role is being played by Samantha while Dev Mohan will be playing the role of Dushyant. Mohan Babu will be essaying the character of Dhruva Maharshi.
The movie was launched amidst great fanfare earlier last month. This will be Gunasekhar’s first movie in 6 years after the 2015 period drama ‘Rudhramadevi’. The filming of the first schedule of the movie is underway and like his earlier films, Gunasekhar has planned grand sets for this one too.
Record budget for Akhil5 test shoot
Akhil who is looking to score a hit to prove his mettle is giving his all to his next film. Directed by Surender Reddy, the makers of this film are going all guns blazing for this one. Reportedly, a grand test shoot for the film was planned recently for the film. This sequence costed the makers AK Entertainments around Rs 50-70 lakhs.
With the makers planning Akhil 5 in a grand manner, expectations have risen on this Surender Reddy project. Recently a grand action sequence with guns and fancy cars was also planned as a part of the scheduled shoot for the movie. The first look of the movie will be released on April 8th on the occasion of Akhil’s birthday.
Meanwhile, Akhil will be next seen in Most Eligible Bachelor opposite Pooja Hegde. Bhaskar is directing this romantic drama which will be bankrolled under GA2 pictures by Allu Aravind.

Theatres shut down again!
Amidst growing cases of Covid, Maharashtra government has decided that movie theatres will be shut down again. Apart from theatres, restaurants, and others, public places will see heightened restrictions across the state. Currently, the state accounts for 58% of nationwide Covid cases. In such a situation, governments’ decision to order theatres to shut down seems to be the only option.
Maharashtra reported 49,447 new COVID-19 cases and 277 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the state health department on Saturday. The active cases in the state stand at 4,01,172.
Meanwhile, Karnataka, which is also seeing a spike in cases has imposed restrictions on the theatres’ capacity. According to the new directives theatres will be allowed to have only 50% occupancy from 7th April. This development comes in after Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar met Chief Minister BS Yediurappa requesting him to allow 100% occupancy till the 7th. Puneeth’s film Yuvarathnaa released in theatres this week and 50% occupancy would have hit his movie collections.
Chiru’s appreciation, any use for Wild Dog performance?

The action thriller that released last week opened to decent reviews from the critics but had terrible openings and occupancy from day one. To say the weekend collections were disastrous would be an understatement.
In such a situation, even Chiru’s appreciation is expected to be futile for Wild Dog which is struggling to pull audience to the theatres. Chiranjeevi earlier on Sunday took to Twitter to express his feelings about the movie.
He said that the depiction of the real-life events in aftermath of deadly attacks on Hyderabad were quite realistic. Megastar also appreciated Nagarjuna and the entire unit for their terrific performances.
While Chiru’s appreciation is indeed heartfelt, we wonder if it would change the fortunes of the film.
Directed by Ahishor Solomon, this action thriller is based on certain real-life incidents. The movie that features an ensemble cast of Dia Mirza, Atul Kulkarni, Ali Reza, and Saiyyami Kher among others tells the story of Indian NIA and RAW’s heroics. The movie follows incidents post the 2007 Gokul Chat bombings.
