Chiranjeevi leaks to Naga Chaitanya

Tollywood Actor Naga Chaitanya recently scored a big hit with his Thandel. The film provided him the much-needed relief from a series of flops and now he is on to his next project. This film is being planned on a massive level and nothing has been announced officially. But, Naga Chaitanya leaked the title of his next film to be Vrusha Karma.

It seemed that Naga Chaitanya followed the path of Chiranjeevi who used to leak few interesting things before his films, which also became popular on social media platforms as Chiranjeevi leaks. Naga Chaitanya said that his next film is going to be a mythical thriller with top notch VFX works included.

This film is his 24th venture and will be directed by Karthik Dandu, fame of Virupaksha. This will be jointly produced by BVSN Prasad and Sukumar jointly with more than a budget of 100 crores – a first for Naga Chaitanya. The film shoot has also commenced recently and the makers are aiming for the summer season next year for release.

The pre-release event of the film will be held today, 26th April, with Vijay Devarakonda being the chief guest. Sithara Entertainments banner, which is behind Vijay’s Kingdom, is also releasing Suriya’s film in Telugu.

Naslen, the Malayalam actor who played the lead role in Premalu, has scored a super duper hit with his latest film Alappuzha Gymkhana. Directed by Khalid Rahman, the film was dubbed into Telugu as Gymkhana and released in theaters today. Let’s check out how the dubbing version of this sports drama has turned out to be.

Story:

After not passing their 12th-grade board exams in Alappuzha, Kerala, Jojo Johnson (Naslen) and his friends turn to boxing. They take part in a nearby gymkhana, training alongside Antony Joshua (Lukman Avaran), an ex-boxing champion with an unreaveled past. Are they truly committed to boxing or just filling time as they get ready for the Kerala State Amateur Boxing Championship? What’s the coach’s history? The film gradually uncovers the answers

Performances:

Naslen delivers a charming portrayal of a youth finding his way. His expressions are praiseworthy. The performances of Lukman Avaran, Ganapathy, Baby Jean, Sandeep Pradeep, Franco Francis, Shiva Hariharan, Karthik, Shon Joy, Anagha Ravi, Nanda Nishanth and Noila Francy significantly impact the characters and the movie.

Analysis:

Khalid Rahman adds a unique twist to the sports genre with Gymkhana, blending it with fun. The second half shines with excellent and authentic taking of boxing matches. Jimshi Khalid’s cinematography, Vishnu Vijay’s music, and Nishadh Yusuf’s editing quicken the film’s pace. Like Premalu, Gymkhana offers decent Telugu dubbing with trendy memes and popular dialogues that boost its entertainment factor. The first half is slow to start, and while it maintains a fun tone, the romance feels lackluster.

Unlike typical sports stories, this film doesn’t feature underdogs chasing a grand victory and proving themselves. The movie adopts a relaxed approach, not exploring the Hero and his gang’s highs and lows, which may not appeal to audiences craving emotional intensity.

MAD Square arrives on OTT

The recent, Tollywood blockbuster, MAD Square has arrived on the OTT platform today. The film is streaming on Netflix in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada languages. Produced by Naga Vamsi under his Sithara Entertainments banner, the film is a sequel to MAD which was a blockbuster hit.

MAD Square repeated the same performance as its prequel. The film attracted a unanimous positive word of mouth on the opening day and showed signs of a big box office performance. Likewise, the film went close to 70 crores gross worldwide and ended up with a profitable result.

The film was expected to put up more numbers, but its run was slowed down after the 2nd weekend. The team now expects to draw high views on the OTT. Anyways, the franchise proved to be a winner for the Production House, and we might see another film in the future.

L2: Empuraan receives disaster response on OTT

The Mohanlal starrer L2: Empuraan arrived on OTT yesterday after a blockbuster performance at the box office. The film riding high with the hype of being the sequel to Lucifer added great numbers on the opening day, but the word of mouth impacted its prospects later. However, it became an Industry hit in Mollywood but failed miserably in other languages box office. Now, it received the same response on the OTT platform as well.

L2: Empuraan streamed on JioHostar in all South Indian languages and the reception is disastrous. This is surely a shock to the team. The team expected it to perform well to continue the franchise with the third part. So, with this shocking reception making another film in the franchise with heavy budget will be very risky.

L2: Empuraan suffered before the release with the same issue when Lyca Productions moved away from the project. The film attracted criticism for a depiction of few scenes which were also removed later. The film was also impacted by this criticism in the box office figures. So, the same result on the OTT platform is also disappointing for the team.
