Actress Trisha Krishnan has hit back at actor R. Parthiban for his controversial remarks made during the Galatta Awards on March 8, 2026. The comments, which went viral, referenced her Ponniyin Selvan character and her personal life.
What Did Trisha Say?
Trisha took to her official social media and said:
“I was informed by the organisers of a recent event that my name and picture were included at the last minute at the request of an individual conveyed through his assistant. A microphone doesn’t make a comment intelligent or humorous. It just makes stupidity louder. Crude words without knowledge say more about the speaker than the person they’re aimed at.”
Parthiban’s Remarks at Galatta Awards
During the Galatta Awards ceremony, R. Parthiban was shown a photo of Trisha and asked for his thoughts. His response sparked outrage.
Parthiban said, “Indha Kundavaiye konjaneram kunthavaikkirathu nallath (It is better to ask this Kundavai to sit at home for a while).” He added, “It is better if she doesn’t step out because it is creating a lot of issues.”
The comment referenced Trisha’s iconic role as Kundavai in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan, where she starred alongside Parthiban.
Context Behind the Controversy
Trisha is currently facing media scrutiny due to rumoured relationship with Thalapathy Vijay. Parthiban’s comments appeared to reference these ongoing speculations, drawing sharp criticism from fans and industry observers alike.
