Mahesh Babu surprises once again with Ma Ma Mahesha

Sarkaru Vaari Paata hype has just grown a few notches higher with the promo of mass number Ma Ma Mahesha. Superstar Mahesh Babu has surprised everyone with his energetic moves and out-and-out massy avatar. Both Mahesh and Keerthy Suresh look stunning in their massy looks and the song promises to have great choreography as well.

The song has added great energy to the album which was seeming slightly low on energy after the smashing success of Kalaavathi. Already the Sarkaru Vaari Paata trailer has set the YouTube records falling one after another.

It has now become the most viewed trailer in TFI. The views created a record crossing Radheshyam. Also, the trailer became the second most liked trailer just behind RRR. In 24 hrs, 26.77M views and 1.219M likes are recorded for the trailer. It is now inching towards 33 million views and it has just been 4 days since its release.

Ma Ma Mahesha has given the right boost ahead of the pre-release event. Fans are also eager to catch the full version that will release tomorrow. Sarkaru Vaari Paata will release worldwide on May 12th. Director Parasuram is confident that fans and the general audience will love vintage Mahesh in this action entertainer.

Keerthy Suresh will co-star alongside Mahesh in this film with SS Thaman composing the music. Mythri Movie Makers are bankrolling this project.

Right after SS Rajamouli’s RRR leak surfaced online, here’s another piece of news regarding a leak coming from Sandalwood. Yash starrer KGF Chapter 2 HD version has been leaked online. The movie is running to packed houses all over and this is a shocker for the entire unit.

Earlier this week, KGF Chapter 2 Hindi version was uploaded on YouTube and immediate action was taken and the film was removed. These leaks have turned out to be quite troublesome for the makers as the movie is still running in theatres.

KGF2 is scripting history at the box office. The film has done tremendously well in all the regions and is smashing records across languages. KGF Chapter 2 has created another big sensation which only 3 Indian films have done so far. It has crossed the Rs 1000 crores benchmark at the box office. Shankar planning his next movie also with Telugu star hero ?

Shankar is currently doing a film with Ram Charan, tentatively titled as #RC15. The film also stars Kiara Advani in the female lead role. This film is produced and made on a big scale by Dil Raju. Now it looks like Shankar is planning to do his next even with another Telugu star hero. It is rumored to be Jr. NTR. Well this is an interesting news.

Shankar who last directed his film, 2.0, the sequel of his prior film, Robo had started doing another sequel to his film, Bharateeyudu. This was largely planned and the shooting for the film too happened well. But the disputes between Shankar and the production house, Lyca productions halted the film. Shankar has unofficially left that film and gone ahead with a film with Ram Charan, #RC15 to much surprise. This is Shankar’s first Telugu film. He has even okayed another film, a remake of his film Aparichitudu with Ranveer Singh in Hindi. He is now currently working on RC15 and the shoot for the same is even happening at Vizag.

As said, Shankar is rumored to be planning one of this upcoming films with Jr. NTR. There are no much details about this rumored film. We have to wait and see if this film materializes or not.

After a series of big-ticket films at the box office, here comes this week’s release Vishwak Sen’s Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam. Billed to be a fuzzy family drama, the movie has seen some delays in its making and release. The entire crew especially Vishwak Sen has pinned high hopes on this film. Can this family drama deliver the warmth and feels as promised? Let’s find out.

Story: Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam follows the story of Arjun Kumar Allam (Vishwak Sen) a simple and sensitive young man finding trouble in getting married. Finally, an alliance comes his way where he along with his family travels from Suryapet to East Godavari to meet the bride Madhavi (Rukshar Dhillon). Due to an unexpected situation, Arjun and family get stuck in Madhavi’s home. Will this unexpected situation cause trouble in their relationship? What complications arise here is what the movie explores.

Performances: Vishwak Sen as Arjun Kumar Allam does a good job at portraying a timid man suffering from an inferiority complex. His onscreen character is quite a contrast to his off-screen persona and he does a convincing job. Rukshar Dhillon has a lot of screen time but not much to perform. She is miscast in the role of a typical Telugu girl. Ritika Nayak gets a meaty role and does great justice to the character and makes a mark. Other characters such as Vennela Kishore Rajkumar Kasireddy, Kadambari Kiran etc stick to their roles and provide decent entertainment.

Analysis: Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam is not a new story and many films have explored the theme of an arranged marriage before. While an intercaste angle in an arranged marriage is new, the writing doesn’t explore this angle any further than just playing with cliches of Telangana and Godavari regions. The movie’s real strength lies in characterizations and close-to-reality scenes. The story stays rooted to our nativity and viewers would certainly connect with Arjun’s insecurities, his parent’s frustration, and Madhavi’s dilemma. Even the supporting cast featuring extended family smoothens the proceedings.

Plus Points:

  • Feel Good moments

Minus Points:

  • Lengthy
  • Weak second half
  • Scenes between lead pair

Verdict: Ashoka Vanam Lo Arjuna Kalyanam is a decent watch and had it been for a solid closure during the second half, the film would have been further enjoyable. Certain inconsistencies in writing aside, this film is certainly a fun entertainer with an interesting message for all sections.

Ram Charan & NTR’s RRR Movie HD version leaked online ahead of OTT release

SS Rajamouli’s RRR has taken the entire country by storm. The movie broke many box-office opening records and brought back life to the Indian box office. This Ram Charan and NTR starrer action drama received great critical acclaim and the actor’s performance along with SSR’s vision were widely appreciated.

The movie is set to have its much-awaited OTT release on May 20th. The Hindi version will stream on Netflix while Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions will premiere on Zee 5. Zee 5 reportedly is planning for a pay-per-view model which will be the first time.

Just 2 weeks ahead of its OTT release, the movie has been leaked online. An HD print of the Tamil version with subtitles has been leaked online. The movie was originally made in Telugu and was later dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, English, Kannada and Malayalam.

The Ram Charan and NTR starrer film’s digital rights fetched huge amounts for the makers and got them a record deal. Pen Studios had acquired the digital rights for this film which it later sold to Netflix for Hindi and Zee for other languages.

Jai Bhim team heard good news two days back. The team won two awards at Dada Saheb Palke film festival. One for supporting actor Manikandan and another for best film. But now there is a bad news for the team. A case has been filed on Jai Bhim producers Suriya and Jyothika.

Jai Bhim released almost one year ago. The film deals with the injustice faced by the rural tribes. Film critics mentioned it as one of the most important socio-political Tamil movies. Despite the critical acclaim, the film got criticised for hurting the sentiments of the Vanniyars who form a dominant caste segment in Tamil Nadu.

The controversy raised for having a Vanniyar representative symbol on the calendar in police man’s house who tortured the tribal man. The movie is based on real incidents and most of the character names are the real ones. but the name of the police man is changed which again represents the Vanniyar community head. So PMK party filed a petition against Suriya and Jyothika for conceptualising Vanniyars inappropriately. High court now ordered police to file FIR against the producers of Jai Bhim.

AP Government gets green signal for Online Ticketing Portal

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has given a green signal to the AP Government for its plan to implement online ticketing for theatres in the state. The government has been aggressively pushing this idea of an online ticketing portal. It claims that this would lead to a reduction of the service charge that the audience will have to pay per booking.

Earlier last year the AP government announced that it will be getting its own movie online tickets booking portal soon. The decision was announced through a G.O released by the Home Department of the government. The ticketing portal will be managed by AP State Film, Television, and Theatre Development Corporation.

A committee has been established to develop a blueprint and implementation mechanism for this new system. It needs to be seen what happens the new ticket prices will be with the announcement of this new ticketing portal.

Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata is a week away from it release and the excitement regarding this film is growing with each passing day. This action entertainer directed by Parasuram has received permission for hikes just like other biggies of recent times.

While hikes are generally great for trade circles, the disaster of Acharya last week has got the industry and fans wondering on the impact the hikes might have here. Pan India movies like RRR and KGF2 did benefit massively with the ticket hikes and put up excellent numbers at the box office.

Just like Acharya, there have been a few movies that have failed to draw the audience to the theatres due to inflated prices. In fact, Acharya opened to terrible occupancy and saw major drops right from day one. The presence of Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan also couldn’t save the movie and it sank without a trace.
