Recently, Allu Arjun shared a touching post on Twitter, where he tweeted about his late grandfather Allu Ramalingiah. He posted the photo with the caption ‘Foundation’. This seemingly innocent gesture of love has attracted a lot of hate on Twitter.

Fans of the Mega family and fans of Allu Arjun are warring on Twitter over this post. On one hand, Allu Arjun fans were very happy with the post and expressed their happiness about the ‘Allu’ tag instead of the ‘Mega’ tag.

On the other hand, Mega fans argued that Allu Arjun has achieved stardom by using the Mega family, and now he wants to separate from them and create his ‘Allu’ brand. Some even pointed out that he is also not attending any Mega family functions.

When one thinks of iconic combinations in cinema, we can simply not deny the iconic combo of Rajinikanth and Ramya Krishna. About 2 decades ago, the two worked together in Rajini’s most iconic film Padaiyappa which was dubbed in Telugu as Narasimha.

She played a cunning and devious villain to Superstar Rajinikanth in the film. Their scenes are fresh in people’s minds to this day. Now, after 2 decades, they are joining hands once again for Rajinikanths’ next film titled Jailer.

Ramya Krishna will reportedly be playing a crucial role in Jailer. The movie shoot has begun in Chennai with the other cast and crew members. Rajini and Ramya are expected to join the sets after 1 week of the Chennai schedule.

What is even more interesting is that the character of Ramya in Narasimha was written by Rajinikanth himself as he wrote the story for the film. Even Jailer has been written by Rajinikanth, giving us the hope that the same magic can be repeated again. The month of July has been one of the worst months for the Telugu Film Industry. From over 8-10 releases, not one film managed to convince people to step into the theatres. This was also a worrying trend that led to a lot of meetings between producers and industry members.

Naga Chaitanya’s Thank You movie and Ram Pothineni’s The Warrior are 2 such films that happened to belong to the disastrous run of films in July. Thank You had one of the worst box office runs in a long time. The film did not even manage to sustain for a single day, crashing at the box office on day 1 itself. Despite Naga Chaitanya’s recent form, the film failed utterly, ending up in huge losses for all parties involved.

Thank You is now streaming on OTT on Amazon Prime Video. Producer Dil Raju who has spoken time and again about extending the gap between theatrical release and OTT has succumbed under pressure and is releasing Thank You on OTT well in advance.

Ram Pothineni’s The Warrior had the same fate as well. Although it didn’t do as bad as Thank You, it also ended up as a disaster in its full run. The film is now streaming on the Disney+Hotstar platform.

Macherla is releasing in theatres tomorrow whereas Karthikeya 2 is releasing on 13th August. There has been a lot of hype around Macherla. Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger is days away from its release and the trade of the film is going at a great speed. The film has succeeded in creating great anticipation and fans are curious to see how Vijay Deverakonda and Puri Jagannadh’s combo will work out on the screen.

Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan’s films are releasing on August 11th. While Akshay will be seen in Anand L Rai’s Raksha Bandhan, Aamir will star in Laal Singh Chaddha. Both these movies are big-budget films and their respective stars have pinned great hopes on them. However, Bollywood audiences are least interested in them.

Shockingly, both movies’ advance bookings are disastrous. Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan is expected to open in the range of 12 Cr net and Aamir Khan’s film is expected in the range of 18Cr net.

These numbers are shockingly low and have surprised the trade circles. The poor advance bookings have now made the producers of these films pray for solid word of mouth. If the movies don’t open to positive reviews and solid talk, they will be massive lossmakers considering their budget.

Interestingly, the movies of smaller stars like Varun Dhawan( Jug Jug Jiyo) and Kartik Aryan (Bhool Bhulaiyya 2) made superb numbers at the box office. However, with Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan, it appears that Bollywood audiences are not interested to watch their superstar movies.
