Liger OTT invasion is over, now the movie is all set to premier on Television. Liger was released on OTT on September 22 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. After a short gap its Hindi version too released on OTT from October 21st.
The latest news is that the film will get its world television premiere on 11th December at 06:00 PM on Star MAA. We need to look how the film performs on small screens. The film also marked the Telugu debut of Ananya Pandey.
The film Liger, as we know, was massively publicized by its hero Vijay Devarakonda, Puri Jagannath and unit before its release. Vijay Devarakonda had high hopes for the movie, and he was so confident about its huge pan India success.
But after releasing with so much hype on August 25, the film became a terrible disaster at the box office. Not only its result was a setback to the team, but the aftereffects of its failure are still haunting Puri Jagannath and Vijay Devarakonda.
In the recent past there was a controversy around the compensation of losses of the film, which director Puri Jagannath promised and failed to live upto it according to the distributors and exhibitors. There is even a police complaint lodged by Puri Jagannath against the distributors of Liger Film, who threatened to attack his family.
Like that is not enough, the Enforcement Directorate has called the Liger team for enquiry on its investments. It was allegedly reported that some politicians have invested their black money in the film, Hero Vijay Devarakonda and Puri Jagannath and charmee Kaur appeared before ED to co-operate to the investigation.
Liger is the story of the brave-hearted protagonist (Liger), played by Vijay Deverakonda, who strives to find his dream spot in the MMA world. But Liger’s life gets complicated after Tanya’s (Ananya Pandey) entry. How Liger realises his dream forms the crux of the plot.
The film has an ensemble cast, including Vijay Deverakonda, Ananya Pandey, Ramyakrishnan, Ronit Roy and even features eminent and controversial former Boxing Champion Mike Tyson in a special cameo. Liger indeed marks the Bollywood debut of Vijay while Ananya made her Telugu debut as well. Mike Tyson was also seen in an Indian film for the first time.
In 2021, Rajinikanth’s Annaathe was released and it was totally dismissed by the fans. But director Siva openly stated that Annaathe is not a failure and that it is a hit at the box office. Despite the clear result that it has failed at the box office, he refused to accept the fate of the film.
This is the same with Ajith’s Valimai also. Director H. Vinoth has not been able to accept that Valimai is a flop venture at the box office. Instead, he is of the opinion that it is a super successful film and that it has done very well.
This is not a good sign for any director as there is no learning from mistakes. If you do not accept the reality of your situation, it is very hard to move forward in life. We can only hope that both Siva and H. Vinoth have learned from their mistakes and are willing to correct them in their next movies.
Vinoth’s next film is also with Ajith and it is not very far away from its release. Thunivu is scheduled to release for this Sankranthi and will have some tough competition from NBK and Chiru in the Telugu states and also from Vijay’s Varisu in Tamil Nadu. We will have to see who will emerge as the winner.

Suriya and director Bala were supposed to reconcile after a long gap with Vanangaan. The project was disclosed last year in October, and the unit also shot a few parts. The producers significantly dropped its first look previous this year on Suriya’s birthday in July.
Previously, there were many rumors that Suriya has left this project but the team denied those rumors. However, Bala has today come out with an explanation updating that Suriya will no more be a part of the film.
Bala has written, “I wanted to direct Vanangaan with my younger borther, Suriya. However, after a few changes in the story, I wasn’t sure if the project was suitable for someone like him.” He also added, “Suriya had complete trust in me, but it was my duty, as an elder brother, to not put him in such a tricky situation. So, both Suriya and I have decided that it is in the best interests of everyone involved that he should opt out of the project. In fact, Suriya was very upset about this decision, but this is done for the greater good of my brother.”
Bala also affirmed that he will rejoin with Suriya in the future. “The Suriya that I saw in Nandha; the Suriya that you saw in Pithamagan, we both will get together something similar at the right time, for sure.”
The National-award filmmaker ended the statement by clearing up that Vanangaan will move forward as designed except for the omission of Suriya.
Vanangaan was announced with Suriya’s 2D Entertainment as the production banner. It now remains to be noticed if the star will still be part of the film as the producer or not.
Adivi Sesh’s sensational blockbuster Hit2 is rocking the theaters. The film team invited Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna to watch this crazy whodunit thriller. Obliging the request, the senior star has watched the movie along with his son Mokshagna. Nani also accompanied Sesh and Balayya.
During the post screening discussions, Adivi Sesh happened to invite Balayya to do a cameo in the Hit verse. However, Balayya has given a smile. It’s tough to interpret the smile, but Balayya is a kind of person who says no on the face if he doesn’t like.

The combination can easily happen and we can see Balakrishna in Hit verse, balayya always encourages the people whom he connects to. Previously, he did a cameo in Manchu Manoj’s movie. Also, He went to Viswak Sen’s trailer launch event recently.
