Ugram releasing in theatres with lowest ticket prices

Allari Naresh’s Ugram is all set to release tomorrow and the unit is trying their best to come up with unique promotional ideas for the film. The action thriller has already created good curiosity amongst the audience due to Allari Naresh’s surprisingly violent characterization. Adding to this, several Tollywood young heroes like Nikhil, Adivi Sesh, Vishwak Sen, etc have joined in promoting the film leading to positive reactions from the audience.

The makers of Ugram have decided to slash the movie ticket prices in multiplexes and single screens across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. This move is expected to benefit the film and if Ugram receives strong word of mouth then it would definitely be unstoppable due to the low rates.

Interestingly, Suhas’ Writer Padmabhushan also took the same route earlier this year. The film went on to become a box office success and was able to draw great crowds due to low ticket rates.

At a time when big movies are opting for government permissions for ticket rate hikes, the smaller films are doing the exact opposite and cashing in on the audience’s love. Ugram makers are hoping that the same result repeats here as well. Directed by Vijay Kanakamedala, the film also stars Mirna Menon in lead opposite Allari Naresh.

Trisha Krishnan, who enthralled the Tamil and Telugu audience with her performance in Kundavai role from Ponniyin Selvan 2, turns 40 today and social media is flooded with wishes for the gorgeous actress. While everyone is aware that Leo is Vijay’s 67th film, interestingly it also happens to be Trisha’s 67th movie and the same was revealed further in the birthday wish. “We @7_screenstudio are very happy & surprised to know that #LEO is your 67th film, ” the note concluded.

For the uninitiated, Trisha Krishnan and Vijay Thalapathy are set to create magic once again on screen after a gap of 14 years with Leo. The fans are very excited to see them together after such a huge gap.

The film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj which is rumored to be a part of Lokesh’s LCU aka Lokesh Cinematic Universe, of which Karthi’s Kaithi and Kamal Haasan’s Vikram are also a part. Besides Vijay and Trisha, Leo has a list of the big star cast among which Arjun Sarja, Priya Anand, Gautham Menon, Mathew Thomass, Mansoor Ali Khan and Sandy. Bollywood Actor Sanjay Dutt will also make his Tamil debut with this movie. Leo will hit screens on October 19th.

Naga Shaurya and Malavika Nair’s Phalana Abbayi Phalana Ammayi is all set to make its OTT premiere tonight. The romantic drama directed by Srinivas Avasarala was released on March 17th and ended up a box-office failure amidst poor reviews and word of mouth. The film will stream on SunNxt from midnight.

The film also starred Megha Choudhury and Srinivas Avasarala and was produced by TG Vishwa Prasad, Padmaja Dasari. The film is a coming-of-age story about a young couple and how their relationship faces multiple challenges during different stages of their lives.

Kiran Abbavaram’s Meter is another film that will be making its way to OTT today. The action drama featured the actor in a cop’s role The film also featured Athulya Ravi in the lead role and couldn’t succeed at the box office. Meter will be premiering on Netflix from midnight.

Meter is directed by Ramesh Kaduri and the music has been composed by Sai Karthik. The film released last month and despite great buzz in trade circles and positive buzz, failed to sustain in terms of collections. Censor Talk and Runtime details of Rama Banam and Ugram

The Telugu Cinema Box Office will witness an interesting competition this week as Macho Star Gopichand’s Rama Banam and Allari Naresh’s Ugram movies are releasing tomorrow in the theaters. Both films units have done impressive promotions and tried to bring the maximum buzz. The Censor talk and runtime details of both the movies have come out and let’s see what is the report for the movies.

Rama Banam is a family entertainer and Ugram is an intense cop drama. What’s interesting is both the films are carrying positive reports from the censor team, and they have been certified with U/A Certificate. The Runtime of Rama Banam is 143 (2 hr 23 mins) minutes and Ugram is 148 (2 hr 28) minutes. Let’s see which of the movies will be able to win the competition, or whether they both end up successful.

Mirnaa Menon plays the female lead in Ugram which is made as a missing cases’ police drama that also has Shatru, Sharath Lohitashwa and Indraja playing other important roles in the film. Big-budget films are often known to make big waves and create a lot of publicity before their release. Even their theatrical releases are planned on a grand scale leading to mass euphoria. The craze for these big-budget films is, however, dwindling and the audience are not bothered anymore about the budget and scale of the movies.

Normally, industry directors and producers think the audience will show interest in big-budget films and for this reason, they overhype the budget before release. The statements like the film having record budget film for a hero or director are not working anymore. Now audience are not falling into this trap they are more interested in content-based projects and not how many crores are invested in them.

The best example of this is the recent April Tollywood releases. In April, both Samantha’s Shaakuntalam and Akhil’s Agent were promoted as big-budget films with eye-catching VFX and stylish action sequences as USPs. The makers even officially declared that the budget of these films was more than 80Cr. Incidentally, both films failed to get even decent openings and ended up with single-digit shares.
