Analysis: The movie takes off on a simple note, the introduction of the hero’s character and his love for the iPhone looks interesting at the start, but soon it becomes to appear silly. After the Hero’s encounter with police, proceedings should have been more intense, but the director wastes the time with an unnecessary love track which failed miserably. Though he tries to link the love track with the interval twist, the effect was not that great. The student politics insertion was also could have been dealt with more care. The second half also follows the same bland tone, though the situation in which the lead character gets over involved is very riveting, him getting locked in the same kind of incidents becomes repetitive.

However, the best part of the movie is when the reason behind the whole mystery gets revealed. Not only it serve as a good episode for the movie, it also gives the audience an important message about a dangerous financial scam.

Performances: Bellamkonda Ganesh was sincere, though appeared with same expression because of his characterization. Avantika Dassani was fine. Samuthirakani, Sunil, Srikanth Iyengar, Auto Ramprasad, Charandeep, and Pramodhini were apt.

Plus Points:

  • Intriguing Concept
  • Few twists
  • Scenes towards climax

Minus Points:

  • Bland narration for the most of the part
  • Unnecessary Subplots
  • Ineffective Dialogues

Verdict: Nenu Student Sir movie was made with a noble intention, but the narrative is disappointing. Ganesh Bellamkonda’s Performance and moments towards the end of the film were good. But the rest of the film is neither captivating nor entertaining. Hence, it ends up being a below-average watch.

Pareshan movie review: Tests your patience

0

Movie: Pareshan
Rating: 2/5
Cast: Thiruveer, Pavani Karanam, Bunny Abiran, Sai Prasanna, Arjun Krishna, Shruti Riyan
Director: Rupak Ronaldson
Produced By: Siddharth Rallapalli
Release Date: 2nd June 2023

Pareshan, despite being a small movie has managed to evoke some interest largely due to the involvement of Rana who has presented this film. It also starts Thiruveer whose last outing- Masooda emerged as a massive hit in Tollywood. While these factors are good to give the film some buzz, does Pareshan have enough to entertain the audience? Let’s find out.

Story: Isaac (Thiruveer) is a student residing in the Singareni area. A typical youngster who likes fooling around with his other friends, he is often chided by his father (Muralidhar Goud). Isaac lends money to his friend for some urgent need which the friends fail to repay. What path does Isaac take to satisfy his need for money and the misadventures that follow is what the movie follows.

Analysis: Pareshan explores the lives of youngsters and their reactions when faced with unfavourable situations. The film follows some stereotypical tropes used in some recent films based in rural Telangana. The unnecessary drinking scenes, illogical romantic track, and cliched scenes hamper the movie badly. On the other hand, it has some redeeming moments in the form of comedy in parts and Thiruveer’s performance. Apart from that, there isn’t much for the audience in this half-baked comedy.

Plus Points:

  • Thiruveer
  • Some comedy scenes

Minus Points:

  • Cliched narration
  • Predictable screenplay
  • No interesting moments
  • Lead pair’s track

Verdict

Pareshan has joined the club of movies that have been released in the recent past with the objective of exploring Telangana culture. The director tries to take the tried and tested route and shows the same old comedy of errors laced with alcoholism laced with utter lack of logic. It’s high time the young directors realize that stories rooted in Telangana culture are about much more than just alcohol, mutton, and a bunch of friends going berserk.

Young filmmakers are degrading Telangana’s culture

0

Films give an insight into the lives of the characters in it. They are a great tool for filmmakers to depict the culture, conditions, and events through which the character’s arc progresses. Malayalam films are a great example of the same as they give a great peek into their culture and customs.

Sandalwood’s last year blockbuster Kantara was another solid example of the same. The film achieved massive box office success and critical acclaim for its cultural depiction. Even in Telugu, there have been some movies that have done a great job of showcasing local culture.

However, of late, a large number of young filmmakers who are making movies on Telangana backdrop are not grasping this concept. The audiences mainly Telangana audiences are feeling the young filmmakers are degrading their culture by showing that people are addicted to alcohol, mutton, and involved in street fights with some vulgar language it’s repetitively in a lot of the latest movies. There is much more to rural Telangana’s rich heritage and the young directors need to stop this general stereotyping.

Analysis: Director Teja is known for making Intense love stories. Though he has not tasted since years, still audience believe he can make a good film. He made an impression that this time he had a winner in his hands with Ahimsa movie through its promotions. But it does not take much time for the audience to know that they are in. for another disappointing outing from Teja within the first 20 minutes of Ahimsa. The movie opens with an intrigue about the lead character, but it fails to maintain the interest throughout. Though the major turn around if situation happens within the first 20 minutes, the narrative was unable to bring the required emotion.

After that, when Sadha’s character is introduced, it gives a feeling that we are in for an enthralling game, but her character ends very soon. without having the required impact. From there, what follows is a series of repetitive chase and action sequences which offer zero excitement as the audience are not at all connected to the main character’s painful journey. Except for a few meaningful dialogues and a few scenes in the second half. Also, the characterization of the villains was too ordinary and loud. The climax appears better, but again it is marred down by the stagy taking.

Performances: Daggubati Abhiram was fine for his debut. We can see the camera consciousness in his face in some scenes. Geethika Tiwary was impressive and brought some impact in the scenes she was present. Rajat Bedi, Manoj Tiger irritated because of their characters while Sadha, Ravi Kale, Kamal Kamaraju, Kalpalatha, Devi Prasad, and others were apt.

Plus Points:

  • Few effective dialogues and scenes
  • Camera work
  • Initial moments of second half

Minus Points:

  • Routine Story
  • Beaten to death narration
  • Irritating characters of Villains
  • Zero Emotions

Verdict: Ahimsa could have been an engaging love action drama. But the director and fails to provide the desired effect except for a few scenes because of the overdramatic taking. You got to have a lot of patience to sit through the movie.
