Nandamuri Balakrishna and Thaman combo is one of the most successful combos in the Telugu film industry. The actor/music director duo is riding high with a series of successes. Balayya and Thaman’s relationship is more personal than professional, they say. The composer was also named Nandamuri Thaman. Now, Balakrishna Rewards Thaman with a Porsche Car.

The car is said to be worth more than Rs 1 crore. Balakrishna bought a new branded Porsche car and gifted it to Thaman. Currently, the photos of their Balayya and Thaman with a new car are going viral on the internet. Thaman and Balayya’s combo includes Akhanda, Veera Simha Reddy, Bhagawanth Kesari, and Daku Maharaaj. Now Thaman is working for Akhanda 2.

At the time of Akhanda and Daku Maharaj, the sound boxes exploded in theatres because of Thaman’s background score. Thaman prepared everyone that the same will be repeated for Akhand 2. Currently, the shooting of Akhanda 2 is progressing at a brisk pace. As said above, Thaman was owned by Nandamuri Compound. Nara Bhuvaneswari called him Nandamuri Thaman in a recent event.

Meanwhile, the audiences are waiting for the OTT release of Daaku Maharaaj. The film was expected to arrive on Netflix last week, but it got delayed and an official response from the digital platform is expected about this.

Vishwak Sen’s Laila was released in theaters worldwide yesterday on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, and it failed to create the required buzz and word of mouth. The film received unanimous, bad, and disastrous reviews. Because of this, the film even struggled to collect theatre rents for many theatres on the opening day itself. Laila is an outright disaster at the box office.

The film was released with a breakeven target of 8 Cr and now, there is no chance for the film to collect even 1 Cr share. This means Laila is an outright disaster at the box office. We can say that this is the worst-ever film in Vishwak’s career.

Kalki 2898 AD sequel pushed back

In Tollywood circles, there has been a continuous buzz for the sequel of Kalki 2898 AD. The film will take time to happen but not immediately because of Prabhas’ commitments. He is to complete The Raja Saab, an untitled Hanu Raghavapudi directorial, and Spirit directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. With these, the Kalki 2898 AD sequel has been pushed back to an undecided date.

Surprisingly, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is waiting for the opportunity as Prabhas has to complete The Raja Saab first and Hanu Raghavapudi directorial later. He will participate in Spirit only after these. So, if the shoot of Spirit moves to somewhere between June and July this year then it would at least take a year for the completion. Salaar 2 is already in the plans and all these won’t let Kalki 2898 AD go on sets soon.

Director of Kalki 2898 AD, Nag Ashwin is also likely to do a film before the sequel and Prabhas will be completing all his commitments in the meantime. The combination will surely draw sky-high hype for the sequel. Kalki 2898 AD became a big blockbuster grossing more than 1000 crores worldwide. The film also became a decent hit in every language and has the potential to set benchmarks for Indian Cinema. The film also ended with a bang revealing Prabhas as Karna, and this also sets the tone for the sequel well.

Nelson’s record remuneration for NTR’s film

Nelson Dileepkumar became one of the craziest Directors of Indian Cinema with his Jailer starring Rajinikanth. The film became a box office sensation grossing more than 600 crores worldwide. He has also planned a sequel, Jailer 2 the Announcement Teaser for which has also been released recently. He has also lined up a film starring NTR after Jailer 2 and it is learnt that he is charging a record remuneration for it.

Nelson is reportedly demanding a remuneration of 50 crores and also a share in the profits. On the other hand, Jailer 2 will be going on sets this March or April targeting the summer season of 2026. There are huge expectations for Jailer 2 and the Announcement Teaser has also lived up to the expectations.

Nelson currently enjoys a great popularity among the fans and audience for his universal film making. So, his collaboration with NTR will surely generate a high level of buzz. Pushpa 2 steps down on Netflix

Pushpa 2 starring Allu Arjun has been streaming on Netflix for 2 weeks in 7 Languages with its Re-loaded version of 3 hours and 44 minutes. The film has also established a record viewership on Netflix in both 1st week and 2nd week segments. It has also trended at No 1 in India and several other countries. Now, it has finally stepped down from its dominance on Netflix.

For 2 weeks, it saw a viewership of 9.4 Million and 35.6 Million watch hours making it the highest ever for a South Indian film in 2 weeks. The recent release, Kadhalikka Neramillai started acquiring good viewership pushing Pushpa 2 behind. Thandel recorded nearly 73 crores gross making it the highest week record for Naga Chaitanya. It also raked in around 40 crores share worldwide. The film also started the 2nd weekend well on a very good note. It is trending better than the recent weekdays and the new releases. Thandel looks to be in an unstoppable mode and 100 crores may also be possible with this momentum.

The other releases, Laila and Brahma Anandam opened with poor reviews making Thandel the solo preference of the audience this weekend. The advantage of Valentine’s Day also helps Thandel today. Likewise, it is expected to take a strong hold from today’s night shows and all these would make the film reach the 100 crore club.

Thandel also needs a good jump in the Overseas market this weekend to make this a reality. The film must perform well this weekend there to reach a safe destination. If all goes well, the film is set to become Naga Chaitanya’s first 100 crore grosser.

Story:

Brahma (Raja Goutham) faces challenges as a theater artist, struggling to fulfill his dreams because of financial difficulties, while his romantic relationship with Tara (Priya Vadlamani) too encounters problems. He confronts a major challenge: arranging a substantial sum is necessary for him to get an acting chance. Living in an elderly care center, Anand Ram Murthy(Brahmanandam), is the grandfather of Brahma, and he has lost touch with his family. Observing Brahma’s urgency, he suggests lending a hand while stressing the importance of having a plan. Anand, Brahma, and Giri (Vennela Kishore) set off on a trip to the village of Burradupalem, revealing Murthy’s true motives. Why did Murthy decide to bring Brahma to the village? The rest of the film reveals the mystery surrounding it.

Performances:

Once again, Brahmanandam showed he can shine in roles beyond his usual comedy. He convincingly portrayed a mature character and expressed subtle emotions flawlessly. Raja Goutham impresses with his performance, particularly in scenes featuring sarcasm. Vennela Kishore does a good job and spreads laughs whenever he gets an opportunity.  Priya Vadlamani, Divija Prabhakar, Sampath Raj, and Rajeev Kanakala fit their roles perfectly, and add value to the story.

Analysis:

The film has an interesting plot. It opens with showing the struggles of Brahma and his selfish nature, but the actual story opens when the scene shifts to the village. The director had room for improvement in balancing a serious topic with an enjoyable atmosphere, which he successfully done with Vennela Kishore’s character. The screenplay drags on, and better pacing could have increased the film’s impact. Brahma Anandam tries to break conventions and redefine companionship devoid of age. However, except for some parts in both halves, the film moves on a dull note. The buildup to the climax was better, but with proper care, it could have been outstanding.

Brahma Anandam Movie Review and Verdict:

Brahma Anandam is a Subpar Emotional Drama. Though it has an exciting premise, its intent and execution does not match except for a few parts. Those who love to watch feel good movies with little expectations can only enjoy it.

The long negotiations on the merger of Disney+ Hotstar and Reliance Industries’ Jio have finally materialized. A new OTT biggie JioHotsar is finally here with some exciting changes and new plans. This development has come forth nearly a year after Mukesh Ambani bought a major stake in Disney valuing $1.5 Billion.

In an announcement, JioHotstar said JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar subscribers will be able to easily transition to the new platform. Stream Sudeep’s latest blockbuster movie Max on OTT

Kannada Actor Sudeep scored a huge blockbuster last year with his Max. The film which was released during Christmas became the highest-grosser in the Kannada Film Industry in 2024. It also collected around 70 crores gross worldwide also becoming one of the highest grossers of KFI. It is gearing up for streaming on OTT now.

Max will be streaming on Zee5 from tomorrow in all the South Indian languages. The film is also expected to perform well on the OTT platform because of its craze and hype. It will also attract good amount of weekend audience with no notable OTT releases.
