Buyers are tense as Tollywood new releases experience a significant drop today

28th September was considered to be an excellent release date and this is why films like Skanda, Chandramukhi 2, and Peddha Kapu 1 were lined up for this date. The distributors who bought the movie for record rates were hoping to make good profits with these three films considering the weekend followed by the Gandhi Jayanti holiday that followed. The long weekend was a great time to get the box office buzzing. Unfortunately, these Tollywood new releases aren’t performing up to expectations.

Ram’s Skanda had a better start out of the three films but really needs to sustain against mixed talk and reviews for the next few days. This looks unlikely and the film might see drops on weekdays.

Peddha Kaapu 1 collected less than Rs 30L on opening day and gave a big shock to trade and buyers. The movie is projected to be a heavy loss venture. Even Chandramukhi 2 didn’t perform well despite being a sequel and while the Tamil version is performing better, the Telugu version’s performance has been abysmal.

The makers of these Tollywood new releases were expecting to witness a good jump from today but shockingly all the films have seen very big drops, and the buyers are in great worry as there is a chance for very big losses.

Senior Bollywood actress’ daughter to debut in Ram Charan’s film

While Ram Charan’s upcoming project Game Changer is facing constant delays and frustrating many, here’s a piece of good news for the Mega fans. The lead actress for the project has been finalised and director Buchi Babu who earlier introduced Keerthy Shetty with Uppena has something similar on his mind this time around.

Rasha Thadani, the daughter of Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon has been signed on as the female lead for this project. The actress’ look test and photo shoot have been completed and the project will go on floors soon. Speaking about the film, Charan had earlier said that this film and his role are going to be better than Rangasthalam’s Buchi Babu. Devi Sri Prasad is likely to compose the music for this film.

Interestingly, Buchi Babu has earlier worked with Ram Charan as an AD on Rangasthalam which was directed by his mentor Sukumar. Charan heard the script and gave the green signal to this project. Not much is known about the genre and story of this film, but it is speculated that it is a rural subject with a sports backdrop.

This Friday marked the release of the much anticipated sequel from Kollywood, Chandramukhi 2, amidst positive vibes. The film has been received positively by both Tamil and Telugu audiences. Despite getting positive talk on the first day, the film crashed on day 2 in Telugu states. Meanwhile, the producer of the film is said to have minted the profits before the release and Raghava Lawrence is said to have received a record remuneration for Chandramukhi 2.

The brand of Chandramukhi and the brand of Lawrence’s horror films helped the film to do huge pre business for the producer, and he was already in table profits before release as non theatricals and theatricals business fetched excellent prices and Lawrence has received his biggest remuneration for the film which is around 30Cr as per the reports.

Directed by P Vasu, ‘Chandramukhi 2’ stars Raghava Lawrence, Kangana Ranaut, Vadivelu, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Lakshmi Menon, Srushti Dange, Mithun Shyam, Mahima Nambiar, Vignesh, Ravi, Suresh Menon, and Subiksha Krishnan. The music for the movie is composed by MM Keeravani and Chandramukhi 2 is being released by Sri Lakshmi Movies banner in both Telugu states.

Another Superstar joins Manchu Vishnu’s Kannappa after Prabhas

Young Hero Vishnu Manchu plays the title role in the film ‘Kannappa’… A True Epic Indian Tale is the film’s caption. Manchu Vishnu has been making efforts for the past few days to make the film a star-studded one with international standards. The film will be released in all Indian languages, and it is an ambitious project for Manchu Vishnu. The pre-production works of the film have reportedly come to an end.

Along with Vishnu, the film is going to have a massive cast. Rebel star Prabhas and South Lady Superstar Nayanthara will be seen in ‘Kannappa’. It is reported that both of them will be seen as Shiva and Parvati. Apart from them, another superstar will also be joining the film. As per the reports, Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal has also agreed to do an important role in ‘Kannappa’. But his character and runtime have still been kept secret.

Manchu Mohan Babu, the legendary actor, collection king and Vishnu’s father, is producing the film under the banner of Ava Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory. ‘Kannappa’ will be directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, who made the Mahabharata series on Star Plus TV.

Approximately, The film will be made at a cost of Rs 150 crore. Legendary writers Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, Burra Sai Madhav and Thota Prasad have contributed to the story. Mani Sharma and Stephen Devasi will be composing the music for the film.

The place of female lead to act opposite Vishnu in the film is still vacant. Actress Nupur Sanon was at first selected for the female lead in the film. She also attended the Pooja ceremonies held in Sri Kaaqlahasti. However, recently Vishnu Manchu tweeted that Nupur Sanon is not doing the film due to non-adjustment of dates.

Especially Naveen Polishetty’s comedy timing and dialogue delivery in the film were praised. Now the latest news is that this blockbuster film will be available for the OTT streaming and the release is out.

The Popular OTT platform Netflix has acquired the digital streaming rights of ‘Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty’. UV Creations, which produced the film, has reportedly given the OTT rights of the film to Netflix for a good price. After completing a 4-week theatrical run, ‘Miss Shetty ‘Mr. Polishetty’ will be streaming on the Netflix OTT platform from October 5.

Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty is directed by young director P Mahesh Babu. The way he made the film as a clean entertainer was commendable. A well-balanced narrative with the mixture of fun and emotions was liked by one and all. Naveen Polishetty and Anushka Shetty’s acting was impressive. Murali Sharma, Abhivan Gomatam, Nazar, Jayasudha, Thulasi and Sonia played important roles in the film.

Sankaranthi 2024 is going to be quite an exciting one with several films of varying genres lined up. Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram, Ravi Teja’s Eagle, Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga, and Teja Sajja’s Hanuman have already announced their dates and are locked and loaded for the festive season.

The buzz that’s continuously going on is that X film will be postponed or Y film will change its release date. But, the makers are quite firm on their stand and immediately confirming denying these reports that their film is releasing only for Sankranthi. Hanuman makers recently denied all the rumours and said that they are 100% coming for Sankranthi and there is not even a single chance of postponement.

Similarly, Eagle makers are also saying the same thing that they have announced the release date so earlier why should we postpone? And now Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga team is also saying the same thing. Now the question is whether Venkatesh’s Saindhav joins the race or not.

Srikanth Adddala’s Peddha Kaapu 1 has managed to evoke some interest and positive buzz from the beginning. Boyapati Sreenu and Ram Pothineni’s mass action entertainer Skanda was released on September 28th and though the film has got a bit of mixed talk, the mass audiences seemed to have liked the energetic Hero Ram’s mass avatar and that is why the film has registered the career biggest openings in his career at the box office. After having a good start at the box office on day 1, Skanda had a decent hold on day 2.

On the 1st day the movie has collected 8.6Cr+ , and on the 2nd day it got 3.5 Cr. The total 2 days share is 12Cr+ and it is a decent number considering a weekday release and from today the movie needs to witness a jump in the collections. The next 3 days performance is very key for the film’s box office verdict.
