Adipurush will help our film – Nag Ashwin

Nag Ashwin has announced his collocation for a high-budget pan India film with Prabhas last year and there were few announcements regarding the cast also. The pre-production works for this project are going on in full swing. Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone are going to be part of this project.

Recently Nag Ashwin revealed few interesting updates. He replied that the entire script work has been completed when asked about script progress. Seeking about Adipurush Nag Ashwin said that this film will help was to reach more audience as the movie is based on Ramayana, and Prabhas is playing Lord Rama. His market is going to increase even more. All these factors will be a big plus for my directorial venture when the film releases.

Nag Ashwin’s film will be completely a new genre that was never seen in Tollywood. This film will be produced by Ashwini Dutt under his banner Vyjayanthi Movie.

Weekend Boxoffice Report

Uppena continued to dominate the new releases at the box office. Among the moviegoers, it still was the most preferred movie of the weekend. It is all set to join the prestigious 50 cr share club.Of the new releases, Chakra and Pogaru opened really well on Friday. Naandi had a slow opening day but picked up very well for the night shows. Kapatadhaari barely made any money throughout the weekend.

Naandi got the best response from the audience and it became the comeback vehicle for Allari Naresh. The film continued to grow each day. Day 3 ( Sunday ) collections are more than day 1 + day 2 combined in many areas. Some territories have achieved Breakeven mark already and it’s all set to become a super hit. Naandi has recovered 75% of its theatrical business by Sunday. Chakra and Pogaru have dropped after a good opening day due to lackluster reviews. Kapatadhaari failed to take off and continued to suffer with negligible revenue.

Yash starrer KGF is was the first Sandalwood high budget Pan India Film which is released in 2018. This film was simultaneously released in Telugu also and scored blockbuster. Now KGF sequel is one of the most awaited film in India.

KGF Chapter1 Telugu business was around 5Crs and collected 12.35Crs from Telugu states with this now business of KGF Chapter 2 is going to next level. KGF 2 business is now on par with Telugu top stars films business. KGF Chapter 2 Telugu States business will be more than 70Crs which is very huge considering that genre. As we reported earlier that Srinu will be producing a film with Tamil star Vishal which will be Vishal’s first direct to Telugu film. And now according to our sources, Warangal Srinu is planning a film with Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja. After Krack’s success, Srinu and Ravi Teja had a discussion and Ravi Teja has given dates to Srinu for a film. The remaining details about this project are yet to know. Ravi Teja is currently working for Khiladi which will release on 28th May.

Drushyam2 Telugu Remake Shoot & Release Planning

Mohanlal’s Drushyam was one of the biggest hits in Malayalam which was released in 2013. Later this film was remade in all languages separately and received the same response from respective industries. Drushyam was remade in Telugu with Victory Venkatesh in the lead role and was super hit in the Telugu States.

Recently, Drushyam 2 was released directly on the OTT platform and has been receiving tremendous response from viewers. Makers have planned to remake the film in Telugu before the digital release of Drushyam 2 itself and yesterday makers have confirmed the same. Jeethu Joseph the director himself will be directing the Telugu version and Victory Venkatesh and the other cast who worked for part 1 will be seen in this sequel. Drushyam2 Telugu remake shoot to start from 5th March and will be shot without any schedule breaks. Makers planning to wrap the entire shoot in 50-60 days and if so the film may hit screens in mid June. Suresh Babu will be producing this film under Suresh Productions.

Naandhi Day 1 Box-office Verdict

Naandhi movie which stars Allari Naresh in the lead role and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Priyadarshi Pullikonda, and Praveen in supporting roles has received positive reviews and great appreciation from the audience. The movie is likely to become the much needed success for Allari Naresh. Naresh being a wonderful actor has finally chosen a wonderful script that gave him the scope to perform and he excelled giving an outstanding performance.

Coming to the box office, the movie has taken a dull opening for the noon shows as it released with very minimal buzz. However, due to good word of mouth, the film picked up and saw many housefulls for the second shows. The total day 1 gross for the film in telugu states is 71 L. The shares have not been calculated yet. If the shares are calculated on the basis of rents system, day 1 share will be less than 20 L. However, it looks like the distributors will calculate the shares after the weekend and shares will most likely be calculated using the percentage basis. Theatrical rights are valued around 2.5 cr which means if shares are calculated using the percentage basis concept, the movie has to gross around 6 cr in order to breakeven. 6 cr gross would yield 5 cr nett. According to the percentage basis, half of the nett will be the distributor share so half of 5 cr nett would yield a share of 2.5 crores. The film is set to have a great weekend thanks to the excellent word of mouth and is likely to become a super hit.

Director Buchi Babu is currently on cloud nine following Uppena’s success. He is getting special praise for the way he dealt with emotions in the climax of Uppena. There was a touch of his guru Sukumar in the way he portrayed realistic emotions. He is currently on the watchlist of tier 1 heroes in Tollywood. The question that remains is whether Buchi Babu narrated the same story to all three heroes or whether he narrated different stories to MB, RC, and Jr. NTR.
