Dhanush’s Idly Kadai Postponed

Initially, it was said that Dhanush would not postpone his film, but after seeing the teaser and buzz for GBU, going against it would be the wrong move. With this, Idly Kadai’s release has been pushed too far, according to the Kollywood inside reports.

Idly Kadai is now planning to be released in August/September. Dhanush’s big-budget film Kubera, directed by Sekhar Kammula, was announced for a 20th June release, and this film will be the 1st release of Dhanush this year. Now Kubera will not have any effect on the Idly Kadai’s postponement.

Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, the latest sensational blockbuster from Bollywood, has joined the 450 Cr net club in India and is now heading towards the 500 Cr club. The film is getting released in Telugu, and the trailer of the film was released recently, which thrashed the rumors of NTR dubbing for Chhaava in Telugu.

The historical action drama, directed by Laxman Utekar, is releasing in Telugu this week, and the trailer was released yesterday. Geetha Films has taken the responsibility of the Telugu version’s release. It is widely known that the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna as Sambhaji’s wife Yesubhai.

Chhaava expected to roar in Telugu

The trailer received a very good response in Telugu with 4M views in 24 hours, which shows the anticipation among audiences, and the film is expected to have a superb opening at the box office.

NTR is not a part of Chhaava Telugu

There were a few rumors that NTR would dub his voice for Vicky Kaushal in the Telugu version of the biopic of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. However, the makers confirmed they did not approach NTR for the voice.

Meanwhile, a few Bollywood audiences were disappointed with the Telugu version, as they felt the dubbed voice for Vicky Kaushal did not match the intensity of the character. They especially compared the trailer’s last portion, where the hero says the dialogue of “Hara Har Mahadev,” and stated that a more intense voice should have been used in Telugu.

Dragon Set to Conquer 150 Cr Landmark

The strong run of Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dragon continues. Yesterday also it maintained good collections, and for 11 days, the film collected around 115 Cr gross worldwide, and the trade expects it to have a good run for a few more weeks in Tamil and Telugu as well.  Dragon is all set to conquer the 150 Cr landmark at the box office.

In Tamil, the next big release is Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran, which will hit theaters this month-end. So till then, Dragon will have a good number of screens and good collections too. Even in Telugu, there are also notable releases at the end of March only. Until then, Return of the Dragon can get decent numbers. By this weekend, the film is expected to go near 135 Cr, and from there, collecting another 15 Cr is an easy task for the film.

Back-To-Back Blockbusters for Pradeep Ranganathan

The film also joined the 60 Cr gross club in Tamil Nadu, and the interesting thing is that Pradeep Ranganathan has 2 back-to-back 60 Cr grossers in Tamil Nadu, which is a huge achievement. Dragon is expected to do more than 90 Cr in a full run, and we need to wait and see whether the movie can go near 100 Cr or not.

Pradeep Ranganathan’s latest blockbuster, Dragon, is having a good run at the box office. Starring Anupama Parameswaran and Kayadu Lohar as heroines, the movie was dubbed into Telugu with the title Return of The Dragon. Ashwath Marimuthu, the director of the film, requested Mahesh Babu watch the film.

Ashwath Marimuthu directed ‘Ori Devuda,’ a remake of his first Tamil film, Oh My Kadavule. February 21 marked the release of ‘Return of the Dragon’ to Telugu audiences. In Telugu states, Mythri Movie Makers released it.  The Mythri team held a success meet after the film surpassed Rs 100 crore globally. During the press meet, Ashwath Marimuthu requested Mahesh Babu to watch the film.

It is a known fact that superstar Mahesh Babu immediately posts a review on social media after watching any film. Even if it’s a small film or a big film, he shares his opinion on X (Twitter) if he likes a film, be it in any language.

‘Oh My Kadavule’ features Ashok Selvan and Ritika Singh, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu. Mahesh saw the movie during COVID. He praised the film’s team, and the film quickly trended on social media. Vidaamuyarchi, starring Ajith released recently and became a big disaster, receiving negative reviews. The film was also made on a huge budget of around 250 crores, and the Production House, Lyca Productions, had to pay an additional 20 crores for the remake rights issue. Vidaamuyarchi released on deficits because of these reasons. However, the film ended up becoming a 100-crore loss venture by the end of its theatrical run.

The film had a big star cast along with Arjun, Trisha, and Regina playing pivotal roles, and half of the budget naturally went to the remuneration of Ajith. The Actor was believed to have received a 100 crore remuneration, and another 50 crores was spent for the rest of the Actors and crew members.

For heavy budget films like these, the theatrical performance matters a lot to cover the deficits with big numbers. But, Vidaamuyarchi theatrically witnessed a failure result and collected only around 145 crores gross with share between 60 and 65 crores worldwide. The Non-Theatrical business of the film is said to have been done for around 110 crores. With this, the total business of Vidaamuyarchi is in the range of 170 crores, and the budget was 270 crores. This makes a 100 crore loss for the Production House.

Lyca Productions has witnessed a series of heavy losses. This started with Indian 2, Chandramukhi 2, and Lal Salaam. Their next film is L2: Empuraan starring Mohanlal which has been made with a huge budget. This film is slated for release on 27th March and the performance of the film is very crucial for Lyca Productions.

Tollwood Actor NTR and Director Prashanth Neel collaborated for a film, tentatively titled, NTRNeel. The film’s shoot was also commenced recently, with the Director posting an image of an action episode under filming. The Producer of the film, Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar spoke about the film today raising the eyebrows of the audience.

The Producer participated in the success meet of the film, Dragon, starring Pradeep Ranganthan today. When asked about NTRNeel, he said that the film is going to be the costliest film made in the career of Prashanth Neel, and it will also have a bigger scale than his previous films KGF Series and Salaar, having an International release. This excited the fans and audience to the core. He also hinted that the title of the film will be along the lines of Dragon and said that success of Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dragon will be a boost for their film.

The locations for the film have also been fixed, and it will be shot in many foreign locations with a massive budget as a high voltage action flick. Meanwhile, NTR is currently busy with his War 2 co-starring Hrithik Roshan, which is in the final stages of its shoot. He will join NTRNeel at this month’s end.
