Distributor Defends HIT 3: It’s in Profits

Nani’s HIT 3 released in theaters this month and emerged as a super hit at the box office. The film, also known as HIT: The Third Case, is all set to arrive on OTT in the next few weeks. Meanwhile, a distributor from Andhra Pradesh defends HIT 3 and says it brought profits for him.

Recently in an interview an East Godavari Exhibitor/Distributor mentioned that the HIT: The Third Case did not achieve breakeven, and he lost 50L loss as a buyer.

Now the official distributor from Andhra Pradesh (East Godavari) defends HIT 3 and says it brought profits for him. He took to social media and officially declared that the film had recovered the NRA amount, including expenses.

So, all in all, HIT 3 is a successful film at the box office with more than 100 Cr gross worldwide, and it is the second-biggest grosser in Nani’s career. The film will soon be available for streaming on Netflix from the first week of June.

No theatre shut down in Telugu States

Recently, the theatre management of Telugu States has decided to shut down the theatres starting from June 1st. They opined that the current system of a rental basis doesn’t work and demanded that the Producers allow for a percentage basis system. Regarding this, they met the Distributors and a few Producers from Tollywood today.

Now it has been learnt that there will be no theatre shutdown in Telugu States as per the plan of the theatre management. Instead, the discussion and talks will go on with the operation of the theatres. An agreement has also been made, as per sources, during this meeting. It is reported that nearly 40 Distributors have attended the meeting.

The recent bad phase of films in the theatres has also prompted the Exhibitors to come hard at the Producers. We have to see if the Producers would agree for this demand. Meanwhile there are many big films lined up in the month of June. Now, the makers of these films breathe a sigh of relief.

Thudarum and Tourist Family’s OTT release halted

Recently released films, Thudarum starring Mohanlal and Tourist Family starring Sasi Kumar and Simran, rocked the box office. Both became surprising hits, shocking the trade analysts. According to the agreements, these films were to be streamed this week, but with the exceptional performance in the theatres, the OTT arrival has been halted for now.

Leading OTT Giant, JioHotstar, acquired the OTT rights of both films. The Producers of both films are learnt to have contacted the OTT team and requested to allow the theatrical screening of the film for a few more weeks. As per the plan, Thudarum should be streaming today and Tourist Family will have to arrive on May 28th.

Since both films are raking in good revenue in the theatres, the makers expect more to pump in. If all goes well, Thudarum and Tourist Family will be streamed on JioHotstar only at the beginning of June. Till then, there is no stopping for either film. Thudarum has already grossed nearly 225 crores worldwide, and Tourist Family is nearing the 75 crores gross mark.

Shocking: War 2 Teaser views disappoint

War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan and NTR is one of the most anticipated films of both Bollywood and Tollywood. Fans and Audience have been waiting eagerly for the Teaser, which released yesterday on the occasion of NTR’s birthday. Many expected that the Teaser would be mind-blowing and also bring record views, but shockingly, it received a disappointing response.

The Hindi Teaser has managed to clock more than 20 Million in 24 hours on YouTube. Whereas, the Telugu Teaser garnered nearly 4.5 Million Views in 24 hours from the combined channels of YRF. This is very low compared to NTR’s previous film, Devara‘s views. Devara’s Glimpse alone garnered more than 25 Million Views in 24 hours, creating a record. But, even with a star cast and franchise hype, War 2 couldn’t establish a record in both Bollywood and Tollywood.

Definitely, this is not what the team expected. But, they should consider this feedback and come up with interesting content for the Trailer. Already, there is a lot of trolling and criticism over the VFX portions in the Teaser, which is not good. The team must concentrate on presenting proper output for War 2 to build the hype. The film is slated for release on August 14th worldwide.

Tollywood Actress Poonam Kaur, who often pens cryptic posts on her social media accounts, has come out strongly against Director Trivikram once again. The Actress had accused the Director multiple times of causing significant harm and also lodged a complaint against him. She also used many occasions to target Trivikram, projecting her issue.

Mayabazar re-releasing in big screens – A Timeless Classic returns

Mayabazar, released in 1957, stood as a Classic in Telugu Cinema. The film, having an ensemble cast of noted Tollywood Actors, became a blockbuster, also securing a dear place in Telugu people’s hearts. The film was remastered and released with its coloured print in 2010, which also became a big success. Now, it is set for a re-release following the recent trend.

Mayabazar will be re-released on May 28th on the occasion of NTR’s 102nd Birth Anniversary. Directed by K.V. Reddy, the film was produced by Nagi reddi and Chakrapani under their Vijaya Vauhni Studios banner. NTR’s role as Lord Sri Krishna impressed the audience greatly and also brought critical acclaim. ANR, SVR, and Savitri’s roles, along with the cinematography and songs, also received immense appreciation from the audience over the years.
