Double Ismart: Liger’s losses headache

Liger starring Vijay Deverakonda directed by Puri Jagannadh became a big disaster. The film brought many losses to the distributors especially to Warangal Srinu. Following this, many strikes happened but Puri Jagannadh didn’t care. Now, Double Ismart directed by Puri Jagannadh is set for release this August 15th. Liger’s losses have become a type of headache for Double Ismart now.

Double Ismart rights were brought by Prime Show Films and they discussed with Mythri Movie Makers for Nizam Release. But as said, Warangal Srinu and some exhibitors of Liger in Nizam are troubling the team of Double Ismart. It is believed that some big names are also invovled in this. The theatrical rights are valued at 54 crores.

On the other hand, Double Ismart three songs have released and the trailer is also planned on 4th August. The film is also facing a competition with Mr. Bachchan starring Ravi Teja directed by Harish Shankar. Recently the teaser of Mr. Bachchan has also been released and got good response. Need to see how Double Ismart fares with a competition from Mr. Bachchan. The film is very crucial for both Ram and Puri Jagannadh as both suffered failures with Skanda and Liger.

Tamil Cinema: Producers vs Stars

Tamil Film Producer’s Council (TCPC) has decided to take action on their longstanding demands and has taken strong action against stars by halting shootings. According to the resolution no film shootings will be allowed from November 1st.

The TFPC has taken a stand against huge star salaries, rising production costs, falling OTT revenue, and delays in film production. As per the decision, shootings will be stopped in a phased manner. No more new shootings will be permitted post-16th August and films that are in the production stage will have to be wrapped up by 31st October.

Producers, who are opting to release their films within 4 weeks of theatrical release have also come under scanner and action will be taken against them. TFPC says big star films can now be released on OTT only 56 days (8 weeks) after their theatrical run. This 8-week widow is being followed in North as well.

Apart from this, stars who have taken advances from various producers and not stared shooting were also questioned. Stars have been directed not to start any new shoots till they work on the films that they’ve taken advance for.

The honurable chief minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy, has openly expressed his disappointment with the Telugu film fraternity for not responding to the government’s move to rename ‘Nandi Awards’ as ‘Gaddar Awards’.

It dates back to January 2024, when the Telangana government . announced this decision. While it received applause from the media and fans, neither of the actors nor producers of Tollywood has appreciated this act. Mr. Reddy was spot on to point out this irresponsibility.

However, veteran actor Chiranjeevi didn’t take much time to respond to this accusation. In a recently held event that welcomed Padma awardees of the year, the legend, on behalf of the Telugu Film Chamber and Telugu Film Producers Council, expressed his happiness for Mr. Reddy’s act.

Game Changer: Worst Promotions

Ram Charan’s and Shankar’s Game Changer was the most anticipated film when it was announced almost 3 years ago. The film’s grand launch was attended by stars from Tollywood, Kollywood, and stars from Bollywood. However, with so many delays and lack of any update for the longest period has led to the buzz almost dying. Apart from mega fans, there are not many who are eagerly waiting for the project and the main reason for that is poor promotions.

So far, in the last two years, only two major updates from the movie have come out. One was the title reveal and the other was the ‘Jaragandi’ song. Jaragandi song has failed to deliver on expectations. Thaman’s tunes and Prabhu Deva’s choreography were both heavily criticized by everyone.

Shankar and his team are continuously failing to create buzz. They recently failed with Indian 2, which clearly showed in the openings. Even after the disastrous result of Indian 2, Shankar and co. have not learned from their mistakes.

Even for Kiara Advan’s birthday poster, the team reused the same ‘Jaragandi’ song image. This has led to many fans questioning the Sri Venkateswara Creations and Shankar if that was the best they could think of and why they didn’t release a new poster wishing the actress. Game Changer is the only movie that is slated for a release this year with no teaser so far.

Raayan 100 Cr: Dhanush Sets Box Office Milestone

Raayan is a special film Dhanush’s career for multiple reasons; firstly, it marks the Tamil actor’s 50th feature film appearance on screen; celebrating this landmark, he chose to write and direct this action drama by himself.

The film hit the screens last Friday to positive reviews from audiences and, expectedly, performed superbly in its first weekend. With an estimated gross of INR 95 crore in its first five days of theatrical run, Raayan is all set to surpass the three-digit mark on Wednesday.

Manamey: Most awaited OTT release

Sharwanand’s Manamey received a decent talk from reviews and audiences. It did a fine job at the Box office. As the reviews were positive and the movie was visually appealing with Sharwanand and Kriti Shetty in, lead people are eagerly waiting for OTT streaming.

Usually, all films are streamed within 4 weeks. But in the case of Manamey, 8 weeks have passed and still, there’s no OTT release. The delay is said to be because of some financial reasons. The movie’s digital rights deal was negotiated with both Amazon Prime Video and Disney + Hotstar. Now, the deal has been finalised and it will stream on Disney + Hotstar.

Directed by Sriram Adithya, Manamey is a family entertainer that also stars Vikram Adittya, Vennela Kishore, Seerat Kapoor, and Ayesha Khan among others. Hesham Abdul Wahab has composed tunes for this project. Maname follows the life of Vikram (Sharwanand) a carefree youngster from London and how after an accident the responsibility of a 2-year-old child falls on him and changes his life.

Mahesh Babu praises Raayan

Tollywood Actor, Mahesh Babu has tweeted praising the recently released Raayan starring Dhanush. The film received positive response from the audience and performed well in the weekend as well. Mahesh appreciated the performance of Dhanush as stellar. He even praised SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj and Sundeep Kishan who played pivotal roles in the film. The Actor congratulated the team on the success as well.

Raayan also written and directed by Dhanush grossed more than 70 crores worldwide in the first weekend which is indeed a good performance. Chinmayi controversy targets Mahesh Babu

Tamil Singer, Chinmayi often becomes part of controversies. She uses social media aggressively leading to confrontations with many netizens and trolls later. She was even banned from working in Tamil Film Industry for her fight over sexual allegations in the Industry. Recently, Chinmayi started a big controversy by describing an incident that occurred for her husband. Even further, she targeted Mahesh Babu for one of his older tweets.

Chinmayi posted with a picture explaining an incident where her husband was rejected permission to kiss his own daughter. Raayan Sequel On Cards

Dhanush’s Raayan has emerged as a major hit with the film inching towards the Rs 100 crore mark. Dhanush’s performance, action sequences, and BGM by AR Rahman received special applause from the audience and stood as the film’s major highlights.

The film was Dhanush’s 50th film and its success has come as a huge relief for the actor/director who had pinned great hopes on the project. In 4 days the film has collected close to 85 Cr gross worldwide. Discussions on the Raayan sequel have cropped up with the film’s major success.

Dhanush left some hints for a Raayan sequel in the film. The mystery of missing Dhanush’s parents is not revealed along with the one who killed Prakash Raj’s father in the road is not revealed. Even the climax had an open ending leading to heavy speculations on the sequel.

Dhanush certainly seems to be interested in doing this sequel and this might be the reason behind leaving some ends open and up for interpretation.
