Kalki 2898 AD America Premieres Record Untouchable

0

Undoubtedly, for Kalki 2898 AD, the best-performing territory is North America. The film has created a sensation and many benchmarks, from advance bookings to opening day to full run.

With 3.9 million premieres, the Nag Ashwin directorial became the biggest Indian film opener, as it beat RRR by a big margin. After that, Devara, Pushpa 2, and many biggies were released, but they were unable to break the Kalki premiere.

Pawan Kalyan’s OG initially seemed to break it, but the bookings are not going at the expected pace. Now the premieres of this action drama are expected at 3 million.

This means Kalki 2898 AD will still hold the North America record, and it seems to be sitting there for some more months. Maybe only SSMB 29 can break Kalki’s premieres comfortably.

Su From So is one of the biggest blockbusters in the Kannada film industry. Its OTT release was highly awaited, but the response from viewers has turned out to be surprisingly mixed.

Produced by Raj B. Shetty, the film was also released in Telugu and enjoyed a decent run in theaters. Since it performed exceptionally well at the box office, audiences were eagerly waiting for its OTT release.

The movie recently started streaming on Jio Hotstar in Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Many expected it to receive an even bigger response on OTT.

However, most OTT viewers did not enjoy the film. Some even took to social media, calling it unbearable and unengaging.

In the end, the OTT response to Su From So is completely different from its theatrical success, which comes as a big surprise.

Fahadh Faasil, the Malayalam actor, is well known even to Tamil and Telugu audiences. His recent film, Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, emerged as a big disaster. The latest buzz is that the actor will work with Prem Kumar, the Meiyazhagan director.

The 96 director revealed his next film’s details in a recent interview. “I will be working on my next movie with Fahadh Faasil. It’s going to be a thrilling action flick, but it’ll still have that emotional depth I love. I told Fafa a story for 45 minutes, and he really enjoyed it. This is a straight-up Tamil movie, and they start shooting in January.”

Initially, Prem was set to direct Chiyaan Vikram after Meiyazhagan, but the film is getting pushed back now.

Fahadh Faasil’s Journey in Tamil Cinema

Fafa debuted in Tamil with Velaikkaran (2017), followed by a memorable turn in the genre-bending Super Deluxe (2019). His portrayal of the ruthless inspector Amar in Vikram (2022) earned widespread acclaim, and he continued to impress in Maamannan (2023) and Leo (2023).

His latest Tamil releases include Vettaiyan (2024) and Mareesan (2025). Now, we should wait and see how the film of Fahadh Faasil and Prem Kumar will come out.

Murugadoss Offers Hair at Palani for Madharaasi

0

Sivakarthikeyan’s latest film, Madharaasi, directed by Murugadoss, has received a decent response, though the box office performance is not as great. It got good applause. Director Murugadoss offers his hair at Palani after a positive response to his work.

AR Murugadoss has seen continuous setbacks from the past few years, as all of his films received big criticism. However, for Madharaasi, starring Sivakarthikeyan, after a long time there are appreciations coming from Tamil audiences and critics.

Even the other directors, like Shankar, Linguswamy, and many industry people, praised the film, which gave a big relief for the Ghajini director.

The director said that he had shaved his head at the Palani Murugan temple for Madharaasi. Also, he previously did the same for his first film, Dheena. He said that this was also like the first film for him, as he was very panicked because 2 films continuously did not materialize and created a gap.

Fans Disappointed With OG Hindi

0

These days, many top actors are expanding their image across India and even aiming for international audiences. Fans of Pawan Kalyan had high hopes that OG would be his big pan-India blockbuster. However, they are disappointed to learn that the film will not have a wide release in Hindi.

According to the latest updates, OG will not be shown on major Hindi multiplex screens because of its OTT deal. Netflix has acquired the digital rights, and the film will be available for streaming after a four-week theatrical run in all languages.

No Big Release in Hindi for Pawan Kalyan’s OG

As a result, OG will only be released in single-screen theaters and a few local multiplex screens in North India. This is expected to affect its box office performance, since multiplex screens play a major role in the success of Hindi films.

Another reason for the limited reach is that the “They Call Him OG” team is focusing mainly on Telugu promotions and not putting much effort into promoting the film in other languages.

So, while Pawan Kalyan’s OG may perform well in Telugu states, its impact in Hindi and other languages is likely to be small, and the overall box office numbers may be lower due to minimal promotion.

No IMAX for OG in USA

0

Pawan Kalyan’s OG is trending extraordinarily in the USA. The Premiers pre-sales are at $1.25M already, and the film is heading towards 3 million Premiers. However, the film will not be released in IMAX in the USA.

PSPK fans eagerly await the film’s release, but there is sad news for them and other audiences, as OG will be missing the IMAX release in the USA. The distributor officially announced it on social media a while back.

They Call Him OG is directed and written by Sujeeth and produced by D. V. V. Danayya under DVV Entertainment. The film features Pawan Kalyan in the lead role as Ojas Gambheera, with Emraan Hashmi making his Telugu debut as the antagonist Omi Bhau.

Priyanka Mohan plays the female lead, Kanmani. The supporting cast includes Prakash Raj, Arjun Das, Rao Ramesh, Vennela Kishore, Sriya Reddy, Harish Uthaman, and Subhalekha Sudhakar. The music is composed by Thaman S, with cinematography by Ravi K. Chandran and Manoj Paramahamsa, and editing by Naveen Nooli.
