Mohan Babu University has come under serious scrutiny from the Higher Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission. The commission has fined the University ₹15 lakh for charging extra fees from students and withholding their certificates.

Furthermore, the university has been directed to refund ₹26.17 crore within 15 days, which is the amount allegedly overcharged from students.

Due to these violations, the commission has recommended that the University Grants Commission (UGC), AICTE, and other related bodies cancel the university’s recognition.

It also suggested that nearby Sri Venkateswara University be given temporary responsibility to manage academic affairs.

This controversial development regarding the Mohan Babu University scandal has raised concerns among students and parents, and further action from the authorities is awaited.

Manchu Manoj also expressed this concern about his father’s university few months back

0

Idli Kadai, the latest film starring Dhanush, premiered on 1st October, while Rishab Shetty’s highly anticipated spiritual action drama, Kantara Chapter 1, hit the screens on 2nd October. Currently, the Kannada film is outperforming Idli Kadai in Tamil Nadu.

In Tamil Nadu initially the exhibitors gave big screens and maximum shows to Dhanush’s film, as it is their own language film and Red Giant Films distributed it.

Idli Kadai shows have decreased in Tamil Nadu as Kantara Chapter 1 continues to dominate

But from the weekend onwards, Rishab Shetty’s film started taking the lead over Dhanush’s directorial, and after the weekend, the lead got much bigger. Now Kantara Chapter 1 is doing almost double the numbers of Idli Kadai in Tamil Nadu.

Idli Kadai’s 1st week gross in Tamil Nadu is around 41 Cr, while the Kantara prequel’s 6-day Tamil Nadu gross is around 32 Cr. Kantara Chapter 1 is set to maintain a strong lead over Idli Kadai in this trend throughout its full run.

Kantara Chapter 1 Telugu States Box Office: 6 Days Collections, On Track for 100 Cr Mark

0

Following a fantastic opening weekend at the box office, Kantara Chapter 1 is maintaining strong performance on weekdays in Telugu states. The film requires a consistent run to recover the valued business, and it seems to be on the right track.

For 6 days, the spiritual action drama has collected around 68 Cr gross and around 46-47 Cr share, including GST in Nizam and Andhra. The film has been released on an advance basis, and for the valued business, the film needs to collect an 80 Cr share in Telugu states.

Overall, Kantara Chapter 1’s Telugu state collections are going on a consistent note at the box office, and the film will join the 50 Cr share club today or tomorrow. So far, 2.0, KGF 2, and Jailer are the only three dubbed films to have collected a 50 Cr share in the Telugu states, and now Rishab Shetty’s Kantara prequel is set to join this elite club.

With a 70 Cr gross collection in 6 days, the film is certainly on track for a 100 Cr collection. But for the film’s valued business, it needs to collect much more and should aim for at least over 125 Cr gross in its full run.

Produced by Hombale Films, the spiritual action drama is expected to have a huge 2nd weekend, as there are no notable releases this week, and the 3rd weekend will have the advantage of the Diwali festival.

Kantara Chapter 1 Storms the Box Office – Biggest 1st Week of the Year

0

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 shows a superb consistency at the box office and ends up with the biggest 1st-week collections of the year, which is a truly sensational achievement.

Initially, the spiritual action drama failed to set 2025’s biggest opening day and biggest weekend, as both milestones were with Coolie. Rajinikanth’s Coolie collected over 150 Cr gross on the opening day, whereas the Kantara prequel settled with 85 Cr.

Also, Coolie collected around 380 Cr gross for the first weekend (4 days), whereas Rishab Shetty’s spiritual action drama scored 330 Cr on the opening extended weekend.

However, Coolie sees a big drop after the weekend due to below-par reviews and WOM, whereas Kantara maintains super strong collections on weekdays.

Coolie’s first week’s collections stand around 430 Cr gross, but Kantara Chapter 1 registers the biggest first week of the year. For 6 days itself the film collected 415 Cr, and with today the film’s worldwide gross goes to the 450 Cr range, which is the biggest number for 2025.

The film needs to aim for the full run of Chhaava, 800 Cr collections, to become the biggest grosser of 2025, and it needs a massive box office to do so.

Chamakura Malla Reddy, the former labor and employment minister of Telangana (2019 to 2023) and the MLA of the Medchal Assembly constituency, reveals why he rejected Harish Shankar’s offer to play the villain in Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh.

Politician Malla Reddy Reveals why he rejected the offer playing the villain role in Ustaad Bhagath Singh

“Recently, an intriguing incident took place. Director Harish Shankar came to my college and waited for nearly an hour, hoping to convince me to play the villain in a film starring Pawan Kalyan. He even offered ₹3 crore for the role, which is a massive amount.

Despite the generous offer, I politely declined. I simply don’t want to play a villain. It’s not the kind of role I’m interested in.

If I take on the villain role, I can dominate and curse at the hero until the interval, but after that, the hero will turn the tables, curse me back, and even beat me up. That’s why I turned down the offer.

Malla Reddy’s reason for rejecting the villain role in Ustaad Bhagat Singh, along with the video, is currently going viral on social media.

Ustad Bhagat Singh’s promotions are expected to start this Diwali, and the film is likely to be released in summer 2026.

Kantara Chapter 1 on fire at the box office: Day 6 overtakes Day 5.

Overall, the worldwide gross for the 5th day is over 40 Cr, and the 6th is expected to be over 45 Cr. For 6 days the movie’s worldwide gross will be around 415 Cr, and Kantara Prequel is expected to hit 450 Cr gross by tomorrow.

According to the movie’s business, it needs to continue the same trend, and the trade expects huge numbers for the film this weekend from all languages.

Sincere Appeal from Kantara Producers

0

Hombale Films, the production house of Kantara Chapter 1 has shared a heartfelt message with audiences worldwide, asking everyone to respect the spiritual tradition of Dhaivaradhane, which is deeply rooted in the culture of Tulunadu, Karnataka.

Their films Kantara and Kantara Chapter 1 were made to honor and showcase the devotion to the Daivas with sincerity and care.

While the team is thankful for the overwhelming support, they have noticed some people imitating Daiva characters from the film in public places, which is disrespectful. Dhaivaradhane is a sacred practice, not meant for casual performance or mimicry. Such actions hurt the sentiments of the Tulu community.

The production house of Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1, Hombale Films strongly requests the public to avoid imitating or mocking these portrayals. They urge everyone to protect the dignity of this tradition and help preserve its cultural and spiritual value.

Tamil hero Vijay’s Jana Nayagan was officially announced for a 9th January release. The team had also planned to release a single last week, but due to the Karur stampede, they canceled the update. Now, there are rumors that the release of Jana Nayagan itself is in doubt.

The latest buzz in Tamil circles hints that Vijay’s Jana Nayagan’s release is in doubt if the controversy or case surrounding the Karur Stampede isn’t resolved this month.

It is clear that Vijay or the movie’s cannot do any promotions until Vijay’s party – Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) or his name gets cleared from the stampede incident.

However, the closed sources to the production house deny these rumors and say that they are confident to release the film on 9th January without any issues or delays and promotions will start from November.

But we have to wait for a few more days to be sure about anything as in politics any issue can be escalated to a bigger extent.
