No Whistles for Rana

0

Teja Sajja and Karthik Gattmaneni’s Mirai is shaking the box office in its first weekend. Manchu Manoj played the main villain’s role, and it also has Rana in a cameo, which appears at the end of the movie. But surprisingly, Rana’s entry failed to bring whistles in theaters.

Recently a new trend has started in Telugu films, where a film introduces a star in the end as a lead to the next part. These kinds of cameos normally work very well and get a big response in theaters.

Mirai: Rana’s Cameo fails to impress audiences

In Mirai also the team introduced Rana at the end and announced part two. However, either the scene did not connect to audiences or the actor somehow failed to bring that aura; as a result, shockingly, there were no whistles when Rana’s character is introduced in Mirai’s end.

The director could have presented the lead scene for the next part and Rana’s character much better. Even though Mirai is already heading towards a huge blockbuster, with a not-so-strong lead scene, a huge anticipation might not be created for the next parts.

Pawan Kalyan’s OG: Two Special Shows and Ticket Hikes Set to Guarantee All-Time Record Opening

0

Power star Pawan Kalyan’s OG is gearing up for a grand theatrical release worldwide on 25th September. The buzz is that there will be two special shows and ticket hikes for OG, which will pave the way for an all-time record opening.

As the film has huge hype and did massive business, the distributors are all set to cash in on it via paid premieres on 24th September night. Also, there will be another special show, which is on 25th September at 1 AM / 5 AM.

Obviously, for these special shows there will be a ticket hike and, along with extra shows, permission for 10 days.

For premieres, the ticket price is likely to be a flat 900/1000 Rs, and for early morning special shows also there will be a flat ticket price of 500. Besides this, there will be an additional hike of around 150/200 for regular shows for the first 10 days.

Pawan Kalyan’s OG is set for an earth-shattering opening with special shows and ticket hikes. The film is having a huge craze, and it is definitely on track to achieve the biggest opening of all time in Telugu states.

Pushpa 2, with 74.3 Cr, and RRR, with 74 Cr, are the biggest openers in Telugu states, and “They Call Him OG” will definitely aim for an all-time record by breaking these.

Mirai Box Office: The End of Ticket Hikes?

0

Nowadays ticket hikes are a major reason for audiences not coming to the theaters on a regular basis. One can understand if a big film gets hikes, but even medium-range movies also do the same. But Teja Sajja’s Mirai’s success could be the end of ticket hikes.

The industry people have often expressed that the huge hikes in ticket prices will not help the footfalls, but the makers continued to go for hikes for all films. For star-hero films or big-budget films, the hikes are fine.

But even the tier 2 stars’ films with just around 30 Cr business are also taking the ticket hikes in Andhra Pradesh. However, the latest blockbuster, Mirai, did not apply for ticket hikes and went with normal prices.

The fantasy adventure film is posting record numbers for tier 2 star films, which proves that at least for this range of films, the makers need not go for the ticket hike, and the G.O prices are enough to achieve breakeven and bigger numbers.

In Telangana, the tier 2-star films are not taking the hike, but in Andhra Pradesh, they are taking a hike of 50 Rs or 75 Rs, which is also not needed. Hopefully Mirai’s success stops the medium-budget films from going for such high prices.

Karthik Gattamneni scored a huge blockbuster with Mirai as a director, and he proves his capabilities with the film. The interesting news is that the Mirai director is all set to work with Chiranjeevi, but not as a director.

Karthik debuted as a cinematographer with Prema Ishq Kadal in 2013 and worked on many successful films like Karthikeya, Premam, Ninnu Kori, Karthikeya 2, Dhamaka, and many more.

He entered into the direction field with Nikhil’s Surya vs Surya in 2015, and after a long gap, he directed Raviteja’s Eagle, and both were not big hits. Now with Mirai, he scores his much-awaited massive success as a filmmaker.

Karthik Gattamneni, the Mirai Director to work with Megastar Chiranjeevi

There was a buzz that Karthik Gattamneni is in talks for Bobby’s second film with Megastar as for the cinematographer part.

So, it is true that Chiranjeevi teams up with the Mirai director, but not as a director, but as a cinematographer. Karthik officially confirms this in his latest interview, and he also says that he is very interested and excited to work on the project.

War 2 vs Coolie Final Box Office: Coolie Leads by 150 Cr Worldwide

0

War 2 and Coolie were both released on the same date, i.e., 14th August. The initial expectations hinted at the sequel of War having an edge over Rajinikanth’s film. However, Coolie leads by 150 Cr in the final box office status over War 2.

Coolie dominates War 2 from the beginning

Despite the film coming in the combination of Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth, most audiences and even the trade thought the film might be limited to only the South, and they all predicted that War 2 would perform in all territories.

But from pre-bookings to the opening day, Coolie takes a clear lead over War 2, and compared to the spy action drama, the film gets better WOM and reviews that help it continue the lead in the full run as well.

Coolie has a big lead over War 2 at the Final Box Office

Even though Coolie is not a super hit at the box office, in the battle at the theaters, Coolie emerges as the winner with a 150 Cr margin lead over War 2. Rajinikanth’s action drama ended its box office run with 520 Cr gross worldwide, whereas War 2 ended up with 367 Cr gross worldwide.

Coolie is an average venture at the box office, whereas War 2 is an unexpected disaster, and in any consideration, the former is the winner over the latter.
