War 2 Becomes 1st YRF Spy Film to Miss 10M Overseas

0

War 2 was released with huge expectations and saw a disastrous result at the box office. Despite having two big stars, Hrithik Roshan and NTR, the film missed crossing the 10M figure overseas.

The film even failed to match the collections of Tiger 3 as well and ended up with 367 Cr gross collections worldwide and $9.5M overseas collections.

The YRF spy universe started with Ek Tha Tiger in 2012, and at that time itself, the film collected 10.3 million overseas. The next film, Tiger Zinda Hai, went on to collect 20 million, followed by War, which collected 13.75 million.

War 2 Box Office Performance: Weakest in YRF Spy Universe Films

Thereafter, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan became the record breaker with 50M collections, followed by Salman Khan’s Tiger 3, which collected 14.5M despite mixed talk.

However, unexpectedly, War 2 becomes the least overseas grosser in YRF spy films with a disastrous result, and it also stands as the first film to miss the 10M collection overseas.

The sequel of War 2 is the biggest film in the entire spy universe, as it stars Hrithik Roshan and NTR as the leads, but the BO performance is the least of the Spy Series films.

The movie will follow Modi’s life journey from his childhood in Gujarat to becoming the Prime Minister of India. It is written and directed by Telugu filmmaker Kranthi Kumar C.H. and produced by Veer Reddy M.

Maa Vande: The Biopic of PM Narendra Modi Announced

With the tagline “The Anthem of a Mother,” the story focuses on Modi’s personal life, especially the close bond he shared with his late mother, Heeraben Modi.

Director Kranthi Kumar called the film a dream project that took two years to develop. He thanked both political leaders and film industry professionals for their support and said the emotional heart of the story lies in the mother-son relationship.

Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan plays the lead role. Known for movies like Malikappuram, Marco, and Meppadiyan, Unni said the role is both a big responsibility and a personal journey. He grew up in Ahmedabad and first knew Modi as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Meeting him in person in 2023 left a deep impact on him.

The film has brought together a strong crew. Cinematography by KK Senthil Kumar (Baahubali and RRR). Editing by National Award-winner Sreekar Prasad and production design by Sabu Cyril (Baahubali), while KGF fame Ravi Basrur scores the music for Maa Vande.

The action choreography will be done by King Solomon (Baahubali, RRR, Kalki 2898 AD).

The Red Flag for Lokesh Kanagaraj

0

Lokesh Kanagaraj rose to fame quickly in the past few years and emerged as the biggest director in Kollywood. Despite his movies putting up big numbers at the box office, he is facing criticism for his last two movies, Leo and Coolie.

According to the plan, Lokesh Kanagaraj needs to start Kaithi 2 and immediately move to Aamir Khan’s project after Coolie. But suddenly the news of him directing the Rajinikanth-Kamal Haasan multistarrer spread in the industry circles.

Lokesh Kanagaraj is not the director of Rajinikanth – Kamal Haasan Multistarrer

Kamal Haasan’s RKFI (Raaj Kamal Films International) and Red Giant Movies produce this movie, and Kamal confirmed that he and Rajinikanth will work in the film in a recent public interaction.

But for this film, the team seems to be looking at other options now. Rajinikanth says, “Yes, Kamal Haasan and I will be acting together in the next film after Jailer 2, produced by RKFI and Red Giant. The story and director are not yet finalized; discussions are ongoing.”

For this film Lokesh Kanagaraj is the initial choice, but now the news is that the team wants another director to handle this project and not Lokesh, which is definitely a shocker for the director.

Lokesh Kanagaraj faces the heat for not living up to the expectations

Definitely Lokesh himself is the reason for him getting into this position, as both Leo and Coolie are not greatly executed. We need to wait and see to know which director will be finalized for the massive multistarrer of Rajini and Kamal.

So, Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is regarded as the biggest director in Kollywood, is now facing difficulties to maintain the same hype or craze. On the other hand, his debut as a lead actor in a film also has to go on set this year.

Also, if Lokesh is not doing the multistarrer of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, then his next directorial will be Kaithi 2.

The censor is happening today, and overseas content will be dispatched by this weekend itself. So, there will be no last-minute hurdles for this gangster action drama.

Fans Warn Sujeeth

0

Everyone knows that Pawan Kalyan’s OG is creating massive buzz. Fans are impressed with director Sujeeth’s efforts, but at the same time, they are warning him to set the right expectations for the film.

Building anticipation is fine, but what matters most is managing expectations. If the hype reaches sky-high levels, even a decent film may fail to satisfy audiences, as they expect something on a much larger scale. Directors should prepare viewers by clearly indicating what kind of content they can expect.

This becomes even more important for big films. Fans and audiences closely examine every small detail in promotional material and often create their own theories about the story. That’s why directors should release promotional content that truly reflects the film.

In the case of OG, the lyrical songs have created a huge sensation. The visuals shown in these lyrical videos have further raised expectations. Fans are already coming up with their own theories based on those visuals. However, the team has officially confirmed that the visuals from the “Guns and Roses” lyrical video will not appear in the movie.

This has upset Pawan Kalyan’s fans and other audiences, who feel Sujeeth is making a big mistake by promoting content that won’t be part of the final film. PSPK’s fans are even warning him not to mislead audiences and are urging him to release only what’s actually in the film to set the right expectations for OG.

Kishkindhapuri: A Super Hit

0

Bellamkonda Sreenivas’s Kishkindhapuri sees good collections at the box office despite facing Teja Sajja’s Mirai storm.

The film maintains a strong hold on weekdays, and for the 5 days the film’s gross nears the 15 Cr mark, which is its breakeven point as well.

With this, all the buyers involved with the film will receive excellent profits. The producer is already in a profit zone with non-theatrical business, and this strong theatrical performance is a bonus.

Kishkindhapuri is a superhit at the box office, and the film will continue to have good numbers at least until OG’s release. After continuous failures, Bellamkonda Sreenivas scores success with this horror thriller.

Directed by Kaushik Pegallapati, the film also stars Anupama Parameswaran and Sandy Master in crucial roles.

Teja Sajja’s Mirai Holds Strong, Set to Cross 100 Crore Worldwide in Its First Week

0

Teja Sajja’s Mirai is holding super strong on weekdays after a sensational 1st weekend, and the film is doing well on course to collect 100 Cr Gross in the first week.

On Monday the film collected more than 8 Cr gross, and on Tuesday the film collected more than Monday with around 9 Cr gross. The film sees a jump in Hindi belts and the USA on Tuesday over Monday.

Overall, for 5 days the film has gathered 90 Cr worldwide gross, and Mirai will easily do 10 Cr in the next 2 days and will cross the 100 Cr mark by the 1st week itself.

Tier 2 stars films doing 100 Cr in the full run itself is a big milestone, and Teja Sajja achieving it in the 1st week itself with back-to-back films is a sensational feat.

With this trend, the film will see a super strong 2nd weekend at the box office for sure.
