Double Ismart vs Mr. Bachchan: Unwanted clash

August 15th was selected as the release date choice for the much awaited film, Pushpa 2: The Rule. But the film opted out of the race by postponing to December 6th. Now, this release date has been occupied by two films, Double Ismart starring Ram Pothineni and Mr. Bachchan starring Ravi Teja. This has become an unwanted clash now.

The team of Double Ismart took no time to fix the release date after the postponement of Pushpa 2. It looked like the film was to have a solo release but Mr. Bachchan entered into the clash. This definitely hurts the team of Double Ismart who wanted to sail over with no competition. The success of Double Ismart is so crucial for both Ram and Puri Jagannadh as both tasted bitter failures with Skanda and Liger.

Mr. Bachchan’s director, Harish Shankar clarified about the clash in the teaser event of Mr. Bachchan yesterday. He said that he never wanted a clash but it happened due to the commitments the team had with OTT platforms and distributors. Harish Shankar also said that Puri Jagannadh was his inspiration and announced his next film being with Ram. The Audience now have to decide the winner.

Kalki 2898 AD: Double digit gross in 5th weekend

Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas is performing extraordinarily even after several weekends. This is definitely a dream run for the film at the box office. As said, even after a month i.e., in the 5th weekend the film posted very good numbers. Kalki 2898 AD has posted a double digit gross in the 5th weekend in all the languages which seems terrific.

The worldwide gross in all languages stands at more than 1015 crores as of now. The film has delivered solid profits for all the buyers involved with this type of a solid run. With this performance, OTT release of the film may even get delayed offering a big long run. The makers have already announced that the film will arrive on the OTT after 10 weeks of its release. The film may even two more weekends to finish its run officially.

Kalki 2898 AD hasn’t been affected by any other film’s performance after its release. This also added to the film’s exceptional performance everywhere. The film’s hindi version contributed a staggering 400 crores worldwide. This is a great run and shows the stardom of Prabhas in North Indian Market. Kalki 2898 AD may well enter the 1100 crore club soon as well.

Raayan Piracy: Tamil Rockers Admin Arrested

Dhanush’s Raayan has opened to terrific numbers over the weekend. The first three days were excellent for the film and it’s on its way to hitting the Rs 100 crore mark this week. After the first weekend, Tamil Nadu gross is close to 35 crores and Telugu State’s gross is around 7.5 crores. The rest of India amounted to 10 crores and the overseas performance stood at 20 crores. All these take the worldwide gross to be around 72 crores. While the film is running successfully in theatres, the shadow of piracy has hit it and Raayan piracy print has leaked online.

In the case of Raayan piracy, one of the admins of Tamil Rockers has been arrested. Jeb Stephen Raj, a native of Madurai, was taken into custody by the Kochi City Cyber Police. He was arrested red-handed while recording the movie in a theatre in Thiruvananthapuram. Reportedly, he was offered Rs 5000 from Tamil Rockers for each movie uploaded.

More than OTT this piracy is killing the cinema. The industry and authorities are failing to stop this. It’s about time some strict guidelines are implemented in theatres on recording videos and these arrests are needed to control this.

Ram and Ravi Teja push Nivetha Thomas’ film

Nivetha Thomas once enjoyed a good stardom but struggled afterwards with flops. She is facing a bad time recently with no hit films in her career. But she has put high hopes on her upcoming film, 35 – Chinna Katha Kaadu. The film was originally announced on 15th August but it looks tough to release now. Ram and Ravi Teja’s upcoming films, Double Ismart and Mr. Bachchan will certainly push Nivetha Thomas’ film to some other date.

Apart from these two films, Aay produced by Geetha Arts and Thangalaan starring Vikram are also releasing in the same period. With this, business looks not happening for the film as audience would prefer all the other films to watch. Its better if the team postpones the film to other date to avoid clash with another film.

On the other hand, Double Ismart and Mr. Bachchan are set to clash as both films have received positive response from the first looks and teasers. Double Ismart must revive the careers of both Ram and Puri Jagannadh. Mr. Bachchan must also become a hit for Ravi Teja to continue with some more films. Double Ismart theatrical business is locked at 54 crores whereas Mr. Bachchan’s theatrical business is somewhere around 40 crores.

Kannada Actor, Yash became popular throughout the country with his KGF series where he played the role of Rocky Bhai. Telugu Actor, Prabhas attained stardom with his Baahubali Series where he played the titular role. Box Office witnessed an amazing time with both the films grossing more than 1000 crores worldwide. Now, the same box office is set to witness the clash of both Yash and Prabhas.

Yash after KGF Chapter 2 took time and listened to many scripts before finalising Toxic. The film’s shoot has officially begun and was also announced to release on 10th April next year. Now, Prabhas’ Raja Saab directed by Maruthi is also eyeing the same period it seems. Both will obviously be Pan Indian films considering the craze of both the Actors. There is so much of expectation of Toxic as it is Yash’s film after KGF Chapter 2. On the other hand, Prabhas is riding high with the recent success of Kalki 2898 AD.

Kalki 2898 AD as said has grossed nearly 1100 crores worldwide according to the makers. Now all eyes will be on Raja Saab as well. So if both films clash it will be interesting to see who holds an upper hand over whom. Let’s wish both all the very best.

Vijay’s GOAT: Postponement coming?

Tamil Actor, Vijay’s upcoming film, The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT) is directed by Venkat Prabhu. The film’s shoot is happening at a brisk pace. It was also announced to release on 5th September this year. It will be one month left for the shoot to finish for the film. Any team does promotions before one month of a film’s release. But looking at the team of GOAT, it looks that Postponement is coming and evident.

Till now, two songs were released composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The second song, Chinna Chinna Kangal was also released on the occasion of Vijay’s Birthday. There is no update about the film after this. The film also has so much of VFX work for the second character look of Vijay. So it seems that it is taking time to get finished. It is doubtful about GOAT arriving on the scheduled date.

Vijay is very much focussed to finish GOAT and move on to his last film before concentrating on politics completely. His last film will be directed by H. Vinoth, fame of Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai. Vijay after completing this film will get busy with political activities and compete for the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections in 2026.

Harish Shankar lectures about remakes

Mr. Bachchan directed by Tollywood Director Harish Shankar is scheduled for release this August 15th. The film is an official remake of Bollywood hit, Raid starring Ajay Devgan. Mr. Bachchan’s teaser was launched today and a press meet was also conducted by the team where Harish Shankar lectured about remakes and the difficult behind doing it.

Harish Shankar has been in the Telugu film Industry for around 18 years. He began his career with Shock starring Ravi Teja and continued directed many remakes. He scored a blockbuster with Gabbar Singh starring Pawan Kalyan which was a remake of Dabangg. During the press meet, when asked about doing the remakes, Harish Shankar defended himself. He felt that it was difficult to direct remakes than directing original films.

The Director opined that a remake gets compared to an original film and it becomes tough to match the level of the original one. However, this was not received well by the audience as they feel there were many director who remade many films. Harish Shankar assuming that making a remake film was more difficult looks foolish. He may defend himself on his directorial aspects but thinking a remake film as superior work to its original doesn’t hold sense. Harish Shankar must first do an original film to understand how difficult it is to do an original film.

Robert Downey Jr. is a Hollywood Actor mostly known for playing the Iron Man role as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He continued playing the iconic role for several films until Avengers: End Game where the character dies at the end. Robert Downey since then has officially exited the MCU. But to everyone’s surprise, Robert Downey Jr. has stunned all by coming back to MCU for another role.

The Actor will be playing the character, Doctor Doom in Avengers: Dooms Day as announced the makers. It will also be directed by the Russo Brothers who officially introduced him in the character look at Comic Con event. The Actor wore a mask before making official entrance and surprised everyone by taking it off. The entire hall erupted in joy after watching him. This has trended online as well.

Audience are very eager to see him as they badly wanted him in the MCU. But he will however play an antagonist role this time as the character, Doctor Doom is a baddie. The film was announced to be releasing in 2026. Another film, Avengers: Secret Wars was also announced and this will release in 2027. Devara: NTR’s second look leaked online

Devara starring Jr. NTR shoot is happening at a brisk pace. The film is made on a large scale budget and aimed as a Pan India release. Raayan starring Dhanush opened to a great number. The film also became Dhanush’s biggest opener. It continued the momentum on Day 2 as well surpassing the Day 1’s numbers. Day 3 i.e., Sunday’s performance looks even more big taking the weekend collections to a big number. Raayan’s 1st weekend Box office Collections and early estimates are as follows:

Tomorrow i.e., Monday’s hold will decide the fate and range of the film. As of now, the film will definitely be Dhanush’s biggest lifetime grosser. If the films holds good on the week days and the second weekend adds well, then expect Raayan to join the 150 crore club worldwide. With the film’s momentum, it looks easy. It will be a good achievement for Dhanush on his 50th film if this happens.
