The Paradise aims beyond India

Tollywood Actor Nani and Director Srikanth Odela joined hands together again for a film titled The Paradise. The duo gave a big blockbuster in the form of Dasara, and fans and audience were excited to see another film in their combo. The film is also said to be the costliest film to be made in Nani’s career, with a budget of around 150 crores.

The Paradise was initially planned as a Pan India film but not it has been learned that the makers are aiming for a market beyond India. This has surely surprised everyone now. The Glimpse of the film was also announced to release on 3rd March. This will also introduce the world of The Paradise. The team says that the film will be many times violent than Dasara.

The Teaser is also said to be arriving in 8 languages consisting of 6 Indian languages, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali and will also release in 2 other International languages, English and Spanish. It has become very common for current films opting for an International release. Toxic starring Yash, ventured into the style recently, and now, The Paradise is continuing the trend.

Sikandar Teaser Disappoints

Salman Khan’s Sikandar under AR Murugadoss was a sudden announcement as the director at the time was busy with the Siva Karthikeyan film while Salman was in discussions for a film with Vishnu Vardhan. With Sikandar’s sudden announcement, Murugadoss put the Siva Karthikeyan film on hold and started shooting for this Hindi project. The shoot was also completed pretty fast targeting the Eid release.

Everyone expected it would be a big comeback film for Murugadoss as well as Salman Khan. The teaser was released today and it has disappointed fans a lot. Not even a single shot was effective or impressive and the quality and scale of the film also does not look grand. Even Salman Khan’s presence, dialogue, and acting looked quite sub-par and couldn’t impress.

It looked like the team was in a hurry to finish the shoot for the Eid release and completed the shoot pretty quickly. Now it needs to be seen how it would work at the Box office. The teaser has failed to create an impact and it all depends on further promotional content.

Shruti Haasan’s International Debut Unveiled

The trailer of Shruti Haasan’s British movie ‘The Eye’ was released by the makers on Wednesday and it has surprised everyone. The psychological thriller directed by Daphne Schmon featured Shruti Haasan in an intense role with several mysterious elements adding to the surprise.

The trailer follows the journey of Diana (Shruti Haasan) who lost her husband Felix (Mark Rowley) in a drowning accident. What follows his death is a series of haunting and mysterious incidents which will surely shock many. The movie promises to pack elements like supernatural elements, dark exploration, grief, and investigation all into one.

During the film’s Indian premiere at the 5th Wench Festival, Shruti Haasan spoke about her love for mystery and how the film fulfilled her desire to work on such intriguing subjects.

“To be part of a story that dives deep into human emotions, grief, and the supernatural is incredibly exciting. Besides the fact that the film has a riveting storyline and top-notch production quality, what makes this project even more special is that it was created under an all-women-led production house, which aligns with my passion for supporting women in the film industry,” she said.

Kannappa promotions: Why the low budget

Kannappa starring Manchu Vishnu is one of the high budgeted films of Tollywood. The film also has an ensemble cast of noted actors across the Indian Film Industry like Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal and few others. But the film’s promotional activity is not upto the mark with the team not concentrating on it much. Due to this, the film hasn’t been getting a Pan India craze.

The Promotional posters involving all the actors with separate first looks also didn’t generate good hype. The Teaser too didn’t register good response and the first single, Shiva Shiva Shankaraa has worked positively for the film till now. But this is not just enough. Today, the team has released a poster with all the big stars involved in the film also announcing the Teaser’s date. This poster looked ineffective even having Prabhas, Akshay Kumar and Mohanlal in it.

Now, all the hopes are on the Second Teaser which will be released on 1st March on YouTube. It must work big to build the hype at a high level for the film to carry a good hype before the release. The film is scheduled for release on 25th April worldwide.

Mazaka Needs a Miracle

Sundeep Kishan’s Mazaka opens with average – decent reviews and WOM. However, even with the Maha Shivaratri holiday advantage, the film failed to get a good opening at the box office. Mazaka needs a miracle to become a hit at the box office.

The film just collected in the range of 1 Crore share worldwide and the breakeven target is 12 Cr which means the comedy entertainer could not recover even 10% of the business, which says how poor the opening is.

Mazaka: Many factors impacted the film’s openings

Multiple factors impacted the film: low pre-release hype, the songs not working big, releasing at this period when the students’ exams start next Monday, and a successful film Dragon in competition. Today, being a weekday, the film completely went down at the box office, struggling to get a minimum occupancy in the theaters. Mazaka needs a miracle to become a hit at the box office.

Now Mazaka needs a miraculous turn in the next few days, at least to give some decent recovery for buyers or else it will end up as a heavy loss venture. The only positive thing for the film is that it did not have bad reviews or talk, and it needs to pull big numbers this weekend to put the buyers in a safe position.

Telugu Audiences Reject Marco on OTT

Marco- Mollywood’s most violent action film releases on Christmas and it emerges as a huge blockbuster. The film performed decently in Telugu and managed to pull the audience well enough. Marco was a big success in Hindi and did well with double-digit collections.

The makers were confident that after its OTT release, Marco would gain wider reach and appreciation. It made its OTT premiere on Sony Liv on 14th February in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam with English subtitles.

Unfortunately, the film couldn’t create such a huge impact on the Telugu audience after its OTT release. The response has been quite cold and quite opposite to what the makers expected. This could have a significant impact on Marco 2 which is officially announced.

The Hindi version is streaming on Prime Video from today and looking at the theatrical response, there is a high possibility that it will be well received on OTT as well. If the Hindi version manages to get a good response from OTT then it a great news as Hindi is the biggest market after Malayalam for Marco 2. The success of the prequel and positive reception in Hindi would lead to Marco 2 being shot on a grander scale.

The new season continues from the first part. Nandini, portrayed by Aishwarya Rajesh, faces an uncertain future in prison. Sakkarai, played by Kathir, comes to a village with a dark history. March Month OTT releases

Streaming services launch new films in March, featuring ZEE5’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam, Netflix’s Thandel and Vidaamuyarchi, plus Manikandan’s Kudumbasthan on ZEE5. Sankranthiki Vasthunam is the most awaited for family audiences in March Month’s OTT releases, while Thandel will attract the youth.

Laila, Vishwak Sen’s recent failure, hits Prime Video on March 7. Thandel hits Netflix on the same date. Baapu, Brahmaji’s rural drama, will release in mid-March on Jio+Hotstar. Dragon, NEEK, and the new comedy Mazaka will hit OTT by the end of this month. 

With February’s end, March brings exciting new content to streaming services. As said above, Sankranthiki Vasthunam is the most awaited for family audiences in March Month’s OTT releases, while Thandel will attract the youth.

Kudumbasthan, the recent Tamil blockbuster starring Manikandan, premieres on Zee5 tomorrow, February 28.

Kubera Release Date Set: But a Big Hurdle Remains

Kubera is a very high-budget film starring Dhanush and directed by Sekhar Kammula. The budget is said to be more than 100 Cr. The film was initially scheduled to be released for Maha Shivaratri, but there was no official announcement on that. Now, the latest news is that Dhanush’s Kubera’s release date is set, but a big hurdle remains for it.

Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna also play crucial roles in the film. The character posters and teasers received a superb response from audiences. The SVCC banner is backing the movie. Dhanush’s Kubera’s release date is set, but a big hurdle remains for it.

The makers of Kubera are said to have locked in a 20th June release, but there is a big issue for the film. Idly Kadai, which has been led by Dhanush as an actor/director, was also announced for a 10th April release.

If Idly Kadai releases on time, then there will be no hurdles for Kubera; it can arrive at the end of June. But on April 10th, Ajith’s Good Bad Ugly is also getting released. So if Idly Kadai decides to postpone, then they have to move to a mid-May release or the end; then it will be an issue for Kubera, as the same star’s films releasing in a very quick gap would not look good.

At least maintaining a 2-month gap will be good for two films: Sekhar Kammula’s Dhanush’s Kubera and Dhanush’s Idly Kadai.
