The Telugu Film Journalists’ Association (TFJA) has officially confirmed the continuation of the ban on senior journalist Vedula Suryanarayana Murthy, widely known as VSN Murthy, in a press statement issued today. The decision comes after a fresh review of the matter by the association’s executive committee.

According to the official note released on June 2, 2026, the TFJA executive committee conducted a comprehensive reassessment of the ban, taking into account current circumstances, available information, and the broader interests of the Telugu film industry.

Review Process and Unanimous Decision

The association stated that it reviewed the matter thoroughly before arriving at the decision. The TFJA executive committee, after detailed discussions and evaluation of all relevant factors, unanimously voted to continue the existing ban on VSN Murthy without any modifications.

The press note clarified that the restriction will remain in force until a further official announcement is made by the association. The statement was issued under the signatures of TFJA President YJ Rambabu, General Secretary P. Raghu, and Politburo Convener V. Lakshmi Narayana.

Background: Past Complaints and Disciplinary Action

The ban was originally imposed following multiple complaints received from prominent producers, directors, and other members of the Telugu film industry. The TFJA executive committee had examined these complaints in detail before taking disciplinary action against the senior journalist.

In recent months, the controversy surrounding VSN Murthy gained attention when director Sai Rajesh filed a formal complaint alleging blackmail, with the Telugu Film Directors Association (TFDA) officially backing the filmmaker. The March 2026 incident brought renewed focus on professional conduct and accountability within film journalism circles.

Industry Cooperation and Future Guidelines

In its official statement, the TFJA appealed to its members and all film industry stakeholders to respect the executive committee’s decision and extend their full cooperation. The association emphasized the critical importance of maintaining professional discipline, mutual respect, and adherence to institutional decisions within the Telugu cinema ecosystem.
