Boyapati Sreenu shocks Allu Aravind

Director Boyapati Sreenu and Allu Arjun collaborated for the film, Sarrainodu which was a big hit in the actor’s career. The film was produced by Allu Aravind under Geetha Arts Banner. The film managed to collect 127 crores gross worldwide. Audience became excited when the director and Producer came together to collaborate again for a film.

A poster was also released with both the director and producer announcing that they will be officially collaborating. Everyone thought this film would be with either Allu Arjun, Balakrishna, or Suriya. Suriya has many films in the pipeline. Allu Arjun too is busy with Pushpa and also planning a film with Atlee. So audience felt that the film would be with Balakrishna. But Actor Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu are working under the 14 Reels banner for a film. So it is official that Boyapati Sreenu chose 14 Plus banner for a film with Balakrishna as the lead.

This happened for the second time for Allu Aravind. The first time was with Parasuram who promised to do a film for him but went to Dil Raju compound for Family Star starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur. However, Allu Aravind or his team is yet to respond about the issue.

Pan India biggies to lock in multiple streaming partners

Pan-Indian biggies have changed their strategy. They are now looking to lock in multiple OTT streaming platforms as partners. The OTT platforms are not interested in offering huge amounts. They are not considering it even if it’s a Pan-India projected film. Teams of Many films are expecting huge amounts like more than 200 crores from the OTT platforms.

Managements of OTT Platforms are not in support of collaborating with every film that is projected as a Pan India film. So the makers of the films have come up with the idea of locking multiple streaming partners for different languages. We have seen this trend recently with Salaar and Hanuman. This might bring them different amounts for different languages. This trend is expected to continue for all upcoming biggies and even for medium-budgeted films.

The OTT platform has become a way of covering the losses of a film. Films that have disappointed at the box office are opting for an early OTT streaming. This is also making the audience not come to the theatres opting to watch the film on OTT. Exhibitors are facing losses for the same reason. There needs to be a time gap between release in theatres and streaming on the OTT platforms.

Hanuman arriving on another OTT platform

Recently released Tollywood Film, Hanuman starring Teja Sajja had great success throughout the country. The film managed to attract Hindi Audiences along with Telugu Audiences. This made the film gross more than 300 crores gross worldwide. The makers hit the jackpot cashing the Sankranthi season. The film has started streaming on the OTT platform.

Hanuman’s Hindi version streamed on Jio Cinema whereas the Telugu Version was streamed on Zee5. Now the news is other language versions of the film will stream on Disney+Hotstar from 5th April. The Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions will stream on Hotstar from this date. Interestingly, these three versions didn’t perform well at the box office. These Industries had their own releases during the Sankranthi season. So this contributed to a lesser performance as well.

After the success of Hanuman, the team planned for a sequel registering the title, Jai Hanuman. However, director Prashant Varma may take time to start filming the sequel. He is enjoying the success of Hanuman. The film did a phenomenal performance considering its budget. Fans and audiences expect the sequel to do much better. With the Pan India recognition the film got, it looks easy as well. Let’s wait and see.

The Goat Life: Mollywood set for another 100 crore grosser

Mollywood film, The Goat Life also titled Aadu Jeevitham starring Prithviraj Sukumar and Amala Paul is slated to release on 28th March. The film is a survival thriller made with a lavishing budget of 80 crores. The film’s advance bookings have already opened.

The Goat Life has already crossed the 2 crore mark in the home state of Kerala. It has collected $200K mark in the overseas market. The film is carrying a very positive buzz and it also has a holiday advantage. If the film opens with a positive Word of Mouth, then it will definitely deliver another 100 crore gross. Mollywood is riding high with the successes of Manjummel Boys and Premalu which did fantastic at the box office.

Manjummel Boys went on to collect more than 200 crores gross worldwide and has officially become the Industry hit there. Premalu on the other hand did very well considering its budget and had grossed around 120 crores worldwide. If The Goat Life performs on the same lines, then Mollywood would have the honor of giving back-to-back 100 crores gross films in a couple of months. Considering the popularity Prithviraj has, the film may do well in other languages too.

Sreenu Vaitla Announces Venky-2

Sreenu Vaitla was once the most sought-after director in Telugu, particularly after the historic success of Mahesh Babu’s Dookudu (2011). But fate had other plans. Best known for his action comedy entertainers, Vaitla has had a string of box-office disasters, right from Aagadu (2014) to Amar Akbar Antony (2018).

Following this rough phase, he chose to take a brief hiatus from films for obvious reasons. Vaitla’s next theatrical outing will be an action entertainer starring ‘Macho Star’ Gopichand in the lead role. Currently in the production phase, the director is reportedly quite confident about the film’s result.

In a recent media interaction, following the re-release of Venky (2004), the director spilled the beans on the possible sequel to it. Vailta was certain that Venky-2 would be made with the same combination and that the script work had already begun. Made as a comedy entertainer, Venky emerged as a blockbuster at the box office and over the years gained a cult following, particularly for its hilarious train episode, which inspired countless memes.

Om Bheem Bush: Sree Vishnu’s Highest 1st Weekend Grosser

Comedy has always been the most loved film genre for Telugu audiences, and Sree Vishnu’s latest release has once again emphasised the same. Made as an outright comedy entertainer, Om Bheem Bush carried a decent buzz before release, resulting in average opening day figures. NTR’s next: Riding on Devara’s outcome

Tollywood Actor Jr. NTR is riding high with the success of the Pan India Blockbuster RRR. The film brought him international recognition as well. It won the prestigious Oscar Award in The Best Original Song Category for Naatu Naatu. He immediately announced working for Devara directed by Koratala Shiva. This film is planned as a Pan India biggie.

Devara’s shoot has been happening at a brisk pace. The team shot some portions recently in Goa where NTR was seen performing for a scene at a beach there. NTR’s next film will be War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan alongside him. Hrithik started shooting his part recently too. NTR is said to have allotted 60-70 days for the film. Both Devara and War 2 shoots would happen parallel from April. War 2 shoot is also expected to finish before Devara’s release.

Devara would decide the fate of NTR’s Box office success. He planned a film with Prashant Neel who is right now busy with Salaar 2. If Devara becomes a blockbuster, then he will immediately start shooting for the sequel. But if Devara sees a negative result, he might take time to start Prashant Neel’s film. Malayalam film, The Goat Life also titled Aadu Jeevitham starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Amala Paul is releasing on 28th March. The film is carrying a positive buzz thanks to its plot and making. Recently the lead Actor Prithviraj began promoting the film in press meets. The film is also releasing in Telugu language with distribution by the prestigious banner Mythri Movie Makers.

Mythri Movie Makers arranged a special premiere show for some of the well-known directors of Tollywood. The directors included Hanu Raghavapudi, Venky Atluri, Shiva Nirvana, and Sreenu Vaitla. Prithviraj was also present during the screening. All the directors liked the film and appreciated the team for its efforts. Many praised the performance of the lead actor Prithviraj Sukumaran as well.

Prithviraj is riding high with the success of Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire where he played a crucial supporting role. It brought him a Pan-India recognition as well. The Goat Life’s advance books have started and it also opened to a sensational start. The film might even touch the double-digit mark on the opening day. The film has already crossed the $200K mark. Manjummel Boys and Premalu Worldwide Box Office collections

Recently released Malayalam films, Manjummel Boys and Premalu became box office blockbusters. Two films are still running in the theatres posting extraordinary numbers at the Box office. Manjummel Boys deals with the extradition of one of the friends of a group whereas Premalu is a rom-com entertainer.

Manjummel Boys has another strong weekend at the box office. The total worldwide gross of the film is around 213 crores and Premalu’s worldwide gross stands at 128 crores. Manjummel Boys is already an industry hit in the Malayalam Industry while Premalu crossed Lucifer and settled as an all-time top 4th grossing film there after Manjummel Boys, 2018, and Puli Murugan. Manjummel Boys was released directly in Tamil and still did well at the Box office there. These contributed to its worldwide gross. Premalu too had released in Telugu States and outshined its competitors Bhima and Gaami.

Premalu has already crossed the double-digit gross mark here. The film might even touch the 20 crores gross mark in its final run in Telugu. Manjummel Boys is yet to release in Telugu and other languages. That might take the film’s worldwide gross close to 250 crores which would be a phenomenal success considering its budget.
