Jaragandi Song: Thaman and Shankar Deliver a Major Disappointment

Jaragandi, the first single of Ram Charan’s upcoming political action thriller Game Changer is out. The song was released on the occasion of Ram Charan’s birthday and the fans have been eagerly waiting for this song for quite some time. Packed with colourful visuals in the tunes of SS Thaman, Jaragandi is a duet featuring Charan and Kiara Advani.

Unfortunately, the song failed to meet the expectations. There were huge hopes on this single as Shankar is known for delivering his best in songs. For every song, the budget is in the range of 10 -15 Cr and the massive budget meant that the makers have a lot of confidence in the content. While visually, the song looks quite colorful, the tunes and composition have let the fans down big time.

The tunes are not catchy and even the lyrics by Anantha Sriram sound quite outdated. The low energy and beats of the song limited even Daler Mehendi and Sunidhi Chauhan who have churned out a number of hits in Telugu earlier.

It’s really surprising and many are questioning why such a huge set was erected for a song as simple as this. Crores of money and unimaginable effort have been spent on this set and visuals. But the choreography by Prabhu Deva and tunes by Thaman were a huge letdown. There are no catchy dance moments or any repeat value in the song. If only such effort had been put into tunes and lyrics instead of sets and visuals, we would have received a chartbuster on Ram Charan’s birthday.

Dasara sequel in the making

Dasara starring Nani and Keerthy Suresh became a big hit. The film was the biggest opener in the medium-budget range of releases. But the film’s opening and closing numbers were in the range of star heroes’ films. Nani had planned for two releases after the film. One is Hi Nanna which was released recently and the other is Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. A glimpse of Saripodhaa Sanivaaram has released as well.

But Dasara’s director, Srikanth Odela didn’t commit to any film. Both Nani and him recently confirmed collaborating for a film. It is said that the film will be the sequel to Dasara. Nani is setting up his films very well. He signed his next films with Sujeeth and Balagam Director, Venu. The film with Venu is also rumored to be titled Yellamma. And with the sequel of Dasara, he is making sure that the audience will be excited about his upcoming lineup of films.

Dasara managed to gross 100 crores worldwide making it his first film to do so. But The film underperformed in AP. His recent release Hi Nanna too ended up being average but did well on Netflix. It needs to be seen how these upcoming films come out.

The cold war between Tollywood Production house Mythri Movie Makers and Producer Dil Raju is continuously happening. Distribution in the Nizam area has become the war ground. It went too far recently during the release of Hanuman. Now Mythri Movie Makers is all set to take on Dil Raju.

Dil Raju produced film, Family Star starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur is releasing on 5th April. The film is directed by P. Parasuram of Geetha Govindam which became the biggest blockbuster for Vijay Deverakonda. So fans and audiences became excited when the same combo collaborated for a film. But Family Star might face tough competition with another film, Manjummel Boys which is distributed by the Mythri Movie Makers.

Manjummel Boys’ Telugu dubbed version is slated to release on 6th April. The film became a phenomenal success. It went on to cross the 200 crores gross mark worldwide and became the Industry hit in the Malayalam language. So the film is an eagerly awaited release here as well. Mythri Movie Makers is also distributing Prithviraj starrer, The Goat Life which is already carrying a positive buzz. So we need to see who gains the upper hand over whom in this fight.

Star hero Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming film Family Star is releasing on April 5th. Mrunal Thakur stars opposite Vijay Deverakonda. The movie is produced by star producers Dilraju and Shirish under the banner of the prestigious production house, Sri Venkateswara Creations.

The buzz raised on this wholesome entertainer with the content. Team unveiled three chartbusters from the film and the film’s bombastic trailer is arriving on March 28th. The trailer will be celebrated along with the fans at Sree Ramulu theatre, Moosapet on March 28th at 11AM. Team will celebrate the trailer in Tirupati on the same day at PGR cinemas at 6PM.

Director Parasuram Petla is at the helm of this movie, crafting it as a wholesome entertainer. Family Star’s Songs Fail to Recreate the Magic

Vijay Deverakonda’s Family Star is all set to release on 5th April and the unit has started their aggressive promotions. This is the second film in the Parasuram and Vijay Deverakonda combination after Geetha Govindam. This time they are joined by Mrunal Thakur who is having a great time at the Tollywood box office thanks to her hits in the form of Sita Ramam and Hi Nanna. So naturally there are heavy expectations on this project. Unfortunately, the songs released so far haven’t managed to live up to the fan’s expectations.

Geetha Govindam’s audio is one of the main reasons for the film’s massive success and record box office numbers. Inkem Inkem Kavale song was one of the highest trending songs of Telugu cinema.

With Parasuram and Vijay Deverakonda joining hands for Family Star, none of the songs have managed to reach that level. Three songs have been released only the first song Nandanandanan worked decently. The other songs Kalyani Vaccha Vaccha and Madhuramu Kadha have not managed to impress the audience.

Kalyani Vachha Vaccha received several trolls and many claimed this song by Gopi Sunder is a mash-up of several Tollywood hit numbers. The third song which was released recently is the weakest song of these three. The songs are the main reason for the film’s low buzz unless and now all depends on the trailer.

One major plus point for the film is the release date which falls in the summer season and continuous festival holidays like Ugadi and Eid following the release. However, a positive buzz about the movie is much needed for Family Star to receive solid collections. In the absence of positive buzz and a good trailer, everything will now depend on the positive reviews and word of mouth.

Producer denies rumors on Manjummel Boys OTT streaming date

Malayalam Film, Manjummel Boys has created a sensation. The film with a lesser-known cast and budget managed to gross more than 200 crores gross worldwide. It is also the highest-grossing film in the Mollywood officially beating 2018, Lucifer and Puli Murugan. The film is still running in the theatres.

There is news circulating on social media regarding the streaming date of Manjummel Boys on the OTT platforms. Some people claim that the film will be streaming from April 5th and are also speculating on some other dates. But all these have been denied by the Producer who says that this is false news. Manjummel Boys is only released in the Malayalam language. Audiences across the country still didn’t watch the film in their languages. So the producer and team are thinking about releasing the film in other languages. This would postpone the OTT streaming date further. The OTT rights are bought by Disney+Hotstar already.

Happy Days re-releasing in theatres

Tollywood’s re-release saga continues as yet another successful film will be making its way to the theatres soon. Sekhar Kammula’s Happy Days is now up for a re-entry to the theatres. Unlike other recent re-releases, this one is not a star vehicle and is a film that became the biggest youthful musical hit of 2007.

The coming days will see several re-releases with the first one being SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster Magadheera. The film will be released on the occasion of Ram Charan’s birthday on 27th March. Post this, there’s Allu Arjun’s Arya 2 which will hit the screens on the occasion of Allu Arjun’s birthday on 8th April.

After Magadheera and Arya 2, it will be Happy Days that will make a grand entry to the big screens on 12th April. The film featured Varun Sandesh, Tamannah, Nikhil, Rahul Haridas, and Sonia in key roles. Sekhar Kammula’s film follows the life of eight friends who enroll in CBIT and how their life unfolds over the next four years. The film’s music was composed by Mickey J Meyer and it was one of the big reasons for the film’s success.

Happy Days also starred Kamalini Mukherjee in a cameo and is widely considered one of the most popular college-based movies of Tollywood. It now needs to be seen which of these three films can make a mark at the theatres yet again.

Everyone thought this film would be with either Allu Arjun, Balakrishna, or Suriya. Suriya has many films in the pipeline. Allu Arjun too is busy with Pushpa and also planning a film with Atlee. So audience felt that the film would be with Balakrishna. But Actor Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu are working under the 14 Reels banner for a film. So it is official that Boyapati Sreenu chose 14 Plus banner for a film with Balakrishna as the lead.

This happened for the second time for Allu Aravind. The first time was with Parasuram who promised to do a film for him but went to Dil Raju compound for Family Star starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur. However, Allu Aravind or his team is yet to respond about the issue.
