Nani Responds About Starring In A Horror Film!

‘Natural Star’ Nani is currently awaiting his next release, ‘Saripodha Sanivaaram’. Written and directed by Vivek Athreya, it features Priyanka Arul Mohan and S. J. Suryah as the female lead and main antagonist, respectively. Jakes Bejoy is the music composer.

Bankrolled by D.V.V. Entertainments, it is slated for a grand release on 29th August. Having said that, the team is busy promoting the film across languages. As a part of the Q&A session, Nani was asked if he would be interested in doing a film in the horror genre.

Expectedly, the Dasara star has reacted strongly, stating that he has no plans to do such a film since he doesn’t like the genre. However, fans expect his beloved hero to experiment with films in unexplored genres such as horror, crime comedy, period dramas, etc.

Vishwambhara – No Teaser On Chiru’s B’Day!

‘Mega Star’ Chiranjeevi will turn a year old tomorrow. On the eve of Annayya’s 69th birthday, Indra, in a remastered 4K version, is re-releasing in theaters. Besides this, fans expected a teaser of the actor’s next film, ‘Vishwambhara’.

However, its not happening. Confirmed by the writer-director Mallidi Vasshista, there’s no teaser coming out tomorrow from Vishambhara. Needless to say, this disappointed fans big time. However, the Bimbasara creator revealed some intricate details of the film.

He stated that the fantasy drama came out really well and will be beyond anyone’s expectations. He went on to say that the teaser will be unveiled very soon; fans expect this to happen on Vinayaka Chavithi. UV Creations is bankrolling Vishwambhara while M. M. Keeravani is composing the tunes.

‘Mass Maharaja’ Ravi Teja’s first collaboration with People Media Factory happened with Dhamaka (2022). The film was a commercial success and fetched good profits for the makers. However, their next venture, Eagle (2024), was a box-office bomb.

Headed by T. G. Vishwa Prasad, this production company’s recent project, Mr. Bachchan, featuring Ravi Teja again, was a colossal disaster that couldn’t recover even 25% of the buyer’s money. Needless to say, the distributors and ultimately the producer have faced heavy losses.

To compensate for the same, director Harish Shankar has reportedly agreed to give back a fraction of his remuneration. On the other hand, Ravi Teja is known to have agreed to do another film with People Media Factory, charging a minimal salary. This is a really good move by the actor and director.

Danayya Teases Fans With An Update Of OG!

D. V. V. Danayya, a notable producer of Telugu cinema, has recently tasted success with Rajamouli’s RRR (2022). He is currently gearing up for his next big release on 29th August 2024, which is Nani’s Saripodha Sanivaaram.

As a part of the film’s promotions, he, along with the film’s principal cast and crew, took part in a media Q&A interaction. Unsurprisingly, Nani insisted Danayya provide some updates on the film. Responding to this, he stated that OG’s release is around the corner with only a small portion of shooting left, which will be wrapped up very soon.

Danayya went on to say that the director Sujeeth, along with his team, is working to unveil a special surprise on September 2, which marks the 56th birthday of Pawan Kalyan. Officially titled ‘They Call Him OG’, it is written and directed by Sujeeth Reddy of Saaho (2019) fame.

Indra 4K Advance Bookings – Excellent Start!

An ‘Industry Hit’ during its original release, Indra is an action drama film starring ‘Mega Star’ Chiranjeevi in the titular role. Directed by B. Gopal, it features Sonali Bendre and Aarthi Agarwal as the female leads. Mani Sharma composed the movie’s music.

Coming to the point, this classic actioner, in a 4K remastered format, is gearing up for a grand release tomorrow, on the eve of Annayya’s birthday. Originally produced by Ashwini Dutt’s Vyjayanthi Movies, this re-release is being handled by Asian Suresh.

The bookings have already started, and the numbers suggest a huge opening. With worldwide advance bookings of INR 1.75 crore, Indra 4K already made a record among re-releases of senior heroes. In Hyderabad alone, the film sold a massive INR 70L worth of tickets, while the rest of the bookings (including Andhra, ROI, and overseas) are valued at more than INR 1 crore.

Indian 2 starring Kamal Haasan released recently and became a big disaster at the box office. The film was even heavily trolled for its direction and story execution. Director of the film, Shankar experienced a major set back with the film. He was even trolled for his ideas and executions in the film. Now, SJ Suryah who acted in the film explained Shankar’s wastage in Indian 2.

SJ Suryah in an interview explained about the budget spent in the film. He told that 8 crores was spent for a home set where the Actor, as a Rich Businessman resides in the film. This came as a shock to the audience now. A staggering 8 crores money spent for just a home set was too much and appears funny. With this amount, many low-budgeted films would have had been made. Shankar who was known for spending crores for songs now spent even more for just a few scenes in this home set.

This money has been wasted poorly with no importance within the film. Shankar still looks like stuck in the old times by spending big money for unnecessary scenes. Well, these haven’t helped the film in any way and instead attracted huge trolling from all sides. Lyca Productions also had creative differences with Shankar in the mid way of shoot of Indian 2. It looks like these incidents would have been the reason for that. There is Indian 3 still in the making and no one knows how much Shankar would spend for that film.

Ram Pothineni and Ravi Teja who continue as Tier 2 actors in Tollywood have met the audience recently with Double Ismart and Mr. Bachchan. These two films released on the same day and ironically achieved a similar mouth talk and reviews. Both these films became box office bombs with worst reviews ever. Both film’s performance went to such a level that they have rung danger bells for the careers of both Ram and Ravi Teja.

Double Ismart and Mr. Bachchan became career worst disasters for both the Actors. Interesting aspect is these films did good pre-release biz which generated a positive buzz ahead of the release. But on the opening day, the situation changed drastically. Both the actors and their films were brutally trolled and likewise the films saw a worst end at the box office. First Monday’s performance of both films ended with deficits all over to a big shock.

Both the Actors need to think twice about their upcoming films otherwise they may face even more worst phase. Ram’s last hit was with Ismart Shankar which released 5 years ago. He must come back strong with his upcoming film. A minimal performance at the box office will also be not sufficient for Ram to stay in Tier 2 category. Ravi Teja too scored an okayish-hit with Dhamaka and witnessed many duds later. If Ravi Teja scores one more disaster it may even act as an end of his career.

Bad time for Suriya and Kanguva

Suriya is currently shooting for Kanguva, one of the most awaited and big budgeted films of Kollywood. The Actor had no big hit for years and subsequently planned a big project film in the form of Kanguva to come out of this bad phase. This is definitely a bad time for Suriya and Kanguva.

Rajinikanth’s upcoming film, Vettaiyan now has been confirmed to release on the same day of Kanguva’s release date. This is definitely a painful news because this clash will change the prospects of Kanguva. Kanguva which is planned as a Pan India biggie must have a solo release to take a big opening and thereafter a long run. But with Rajinikanth’s film beside, it looks very difficult for Kanguva to take a big opening and a strong weekend performance. The recently released trailer of Kanguva also appeared bad with no big punch.

So, without a big performance in the weekend, the film may not reach its target. Suriya who felt like scoring a big blockbuster with Kanguva may not have a positive outcome if Vettaiyan achieves a good talk. There is also news of postponing or preponing Kanguva to some other release date. Diwali season is already occupied with Ajith’s Vidaamuyarchi. So, we have to see what happens with Kanguva.
