What’s Going On With Kantara: Chapter 1

0

The much-awaited Kantara Chapter 1 is getting released in theaters on October 2nd, and there are just three weeks left for the release. However, the shocking part is still that the team is maintaining silence and not doing any promotions.

Kantara (2022) is a huge pan-India blockbuster that received numbers from all territories. After the OTT release, the film’s reach even got wider.

Kantara Chapter One: No Promotions From The Team

Normally for this kind of pan-India-scale movie, the entire team will be busy with promotions and events in all languages at the time of release. But the Kantara team has not released any song or trailer or even any update till now, which has surprised everyone.

The movie’s entire business is completed, and with the belief in the hype/franchise craze, all areas of business have been closed for big prices.

But audiences are continuously awaiting the promotions, and shockingly the team maintains silence. We need to see whether the Kantara Chapter 1 team will start promotions and will release the promotional content from the film this week at least.

The film opens with a double-digit net in India, which surprises everyone, and another surprise is that the film collected double-digit net for all three days of the weekend.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Box Office: Fantastic Performance in India

Overall, for the opening weekend, Demon Slayer has collected 40 Cr net in India, and the gross is around 48.5 Cr, which is a record-breaking number.

If the same hold continues on weekdays, the film can even see a 100 Cr gross collection in India.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle marks the beginning of the epic trilogy that concludes the beloved anime saga.

People Media Factory Takes Over Zombie Reddy 2

0

Teja Sajja has scored a massive hit with his latest film, Mirai, directed by Karthik Gattamneni. The film has been produced by People Media Factory, which also takes over the actor’s next film, Zombie Reddy 2.

At first, the sequel of Zombie Reddy was planned to be produced by Sitara Entertainments, but due to some reasons there has been a change in the production house.

Teja Sajja’s Zombie Reddy 2 goes to People Media Factory

The Mirai team graces the Bigg Boss on Sunday for the success promotions, and during the show, producer Viswa Prasad revealed that the People Media Factory will be immediately collaborating with Teja Sajja for the Zombi Reddy sequel.

Reportedly, the film will be a big-budget film, mounted on a grand scale. This is another huge project for Teja Sajja, and the actor is choosing the scripts with perfect planning. With back-to-back successes like Hanuman and Mirai, he created a very good market.

Zombie Reddy Sequel: A Budget Of 100 Crore?

So, producers are now ready to put 100 Cr on Teja, and there is a buzz that Zombie Reddy 2 will be made with a budget of more than 100 Cr. It will be a bigger film than Hanuman and Mirai in scale.

Prashant Varma, who made the first part, will be providing the story for the film, and all the details about this biggie will be announced very soon.

Parasakthi Leads Jana Nayagan on BookMyShow

0

Vijay’s Jana Nayagan is getting released on 9th January 2026, and Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi arrives on 14th January 2026. But Paraskathi already leads Jana Nayagan on Bookmyshow.

The Pongal battle between both films has already started online fan wars, and even though Vijay is a much bigger star than Siva Karthikeyan, the content always plays a key role in box office clashes.

Jana Nayagan’s teaser and posters have received a mixed response till now, whereas Parasakthi’s every content has struck gold, the theme, cast and crew, and genre creating a lot of interest in the film.

Jana Nayagan is riding on Thalapathy Vijay’s stardom, and it also has the sentiment factor that it is his last film. But Parasakti is riding on a good promotional content buzz.

Parasakthi carries 72K interests on the ticketing app Book My Show, and it leads Jana Nayagan, which carries 65K interests. This is a shocking stat for sure.

Certainly, Jana Nayagan will be the no. 1 preference for Tamil audiences, and it will see much bigger openings than Parasakthi with the help of Vijay’s stardom despite the above factors.

But after 5 days of the Vijay movie’s run, when Parasakthi releases, the people will start choosing a better content film.

Kishkindhapuri Box Office: Strong First Weekend, Heading Towards Success

0

Kishkindhapuri, the horror thriller starring Bellamkonda Sreenivas, does not have much pre-buzz, and it came to theaters in competition with Mirai, and all the focus of audiences shifted towards it. But Kishkindhapuri has a strong first weekend and is heading towards success.

Despite facing the big Mirai storm, Kishkindhapuri successfully finds its audiences and shows impressive collections on the 1st weekend.

The film’s trend on the weekend is very good, as day 3 is bigger than day 2, which itself is bigger than the opening day. The trend suggests that there is positive WOM in audiences.

Overall, for the weekend the film collected more than 11.5 Cr gross, and to achieve breakeven it needs to collect 15 Cr gross. This means Kishkindhpuri has more than 75% recovery at the box office on the first weekend alone.

A decent hold on weekdays is enough for the film’s box office success, and if the film holds strong and sees a good run at the box office, then it will emerge as a huge blockbuster.

Teja Sajja vs Teja Sajja: Mirai Surpasses HanuMan in First Weekend Collections

0

Teja Sajja’s HanuMan creates new milestones for Tier-2 star films. In the opening weekend the film collected 20 Cr+ gross for all 3 days, which was a record. But now Teja Sajja himself achieved this milestone, as Mirai also collected 20 Cr+ gross in all three days of opening weekend.

Teja is breaking his own records at the box office and establishing himself as a bigger hero among the tier-2 heroes at the box office.

For the opening weekend, HanuMan collected around 71 Cr gross worldwide, whereas Mirai’s early estimates for the weekend are around 75 Cr gross, which means it comfortably crosses Hanuman. These are nothing but insane collections.

But crossing the Hanuman’s collections in full run is not possible for Mirai, as Hanuman had the Sankranti festival after the weekend, but Mirai does not have any festival advantage.

However, Mirai numbers are still very huge, and it is on track to achieve a 150 Cr gross mark in its full run.

India vs Pakistan Match Fails to Impact Movie Box Office Collections

0

Normally whenever there is a cricket match of Team India, the box office will see a hit, and if our country plays against Pak, it will even impact biggies. However, the Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan failed to impact the box office collections of Teja Sajja’s Mirai and other films this weekend.

As said above, cricket matches, especially ICC or multinational tournaments, have always affected the collections of movies, and that is the reason even movie teams postpone the release whenever there are big matches for Team India.

But surprisingly today, despite the Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan, the box office did not see any impact.

All films—Mirai, Kishkindhapuri, Little Hearts, Lokah, and Demon Slayer—are having their biggest days at the box office. There might be many analyses for people losing interest in cricket.

But this is a good relief for theater owners, especially after a long time. Telugu theater owners see a big relief with continuous housefuls this weekend, and they are very happy that audiences are coming out for movies continuously.

Coolie Overseas Box Office: Final Area-Wise Collections Report

0

Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie overseas theatrical rights were sold for an all-time record price for Kollywood, 81 Cr. Released in August, the film opened with record bookings and the record opening ever for Kollywood.

However, as the film opens with unfavorable WOM and reviews, trade expected it may see heavy losses, as the overseas box office mostly depends on reviews. But Coolie somehow manages to post reasonably good collections in overseas territories.

Coolie Area-Wise Closing Collections Overseas:

North America $7M
Middle East: $4.4M
Malaysia $3M
UK-Europe $2.9M
Singapore $1.2M
Australia and NZ $1.1 M
Sri Lanka $0.6M
Rest $0.2M

Rajinikanth’s Coolie’s total overseas collections stand at $20.4M (180 Cr gross), and the share will be around 75 Cr. So, overall, the film ended with around 10% losses for buyers, but it could have easily made 30M if the film’s content/hype matched Vikram.
