Rishabh Shetty is all set to enthrall the Indian Cinema viewers with his most awaited prequel to Kantara. Kantara: Chapter One movie’s Telugu Distributors details are out now.

The business has been closed on an Advance Basis across all areas. Released in 2022, Kantara worked very big in Telugu states, and the makers are confident that the prequel, Kantara chapter one will do 100 Cr share in Telugu states.

The film is getting released in competition for Pawan Kalyan’s OG, which is set to arrive on 25th September, while Rishab Shetty’s Film is getting released on 2nd October.

Though the valued amount is huge, there is no doubt that the prequel of Kantara will work massively at the Telugu box office if the talk comes positively.

Coolie OTT Launch Tonight

After four weeks in theaters, Rajinikanth’s Coolie is making its digital debut and will be available for streaming on OTT from tonight.

The action drama will stream on Prime Video in all South Indian languages, such Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The Hindi version is scheduled to release next month.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film received mixed reviews and below-average word of mouth during its theatrical run but still managed to gross around ₹520 crore worldwide.

Rajinikanth’s Coolie arrives on Prime Video tonight

Now, it remains to be seen how audiences will receive Coolie on OTT as it premieres tonight.

The film also stars Nagarjuna, Sruthi Haasan, Sathyaraj, Upendra, Rachita Ram, Soubin Shahir and others alongside Aamir Khan in a cameo. The film’s music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Darshan from Jail: Please Kill Me

Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, arrested again in August for the Renukaswamy murder case, told the court that life in jail has become unbearable. He added, “Please pass an order to give me poison in court.” 

During a video hearing at the 64th City Civil and Sessions Court, he said he had not seen sunlight for over a month and developed a fungal infection on his hands. Upon hearing his plea to kill, the judge immediately instructed Darshan not to make such a demand.

Breaking down in tears, Darshan pleaded, “I can’t live like this anymore. Please give me poison.” He also asked for basic items like a pillow, bedsheets, and home-cooked food. After the judge spoke, he nodded quietly and remained silent.

Darshan, who looked strong at the time of arrest, appeared weak during the hearing. His alleged girlfriend, actress Pavithra Gowda, was also arrested at her Bengaluru home.

 A video showed her being taken by police, visibly upset as the media surrounded her house. This news is now being shared online as the fans show sympathy to Darshan, who wants to kill himself. 

But there are other netizens who do not want to support him and feel that he deserves the punishment.

Kantara Chapter One Kerala Release in Trouble

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter One has a super craze across India, and all are awaiting the film’s theatrical release. While the film received good offers from Telugu states, it faces trouble for the release in Kerala. 

There are ongoing disputes between Prithviraj Productions and FEUOK (one of Kerala’s theater associations) over revenue share terms. These issues are likely to sort out, but if the issue continues, then in that case, FEUOK screens will not screen Kantara Chapter One.

Normally, these issues will be sorted out before release. KGF 2 did huge in Kerala, and the Kantara team also expects such huge revenue. This is the reason they are demanding a bigger percentage in distributor share, which FEUOK is not ready to agree to.

Set to be released in theaters on October 2, 2025, the Kantara prequel has Rukmini Vasanth playing a key role. Produced by Hombale Films, the movie will be released in seven languages—Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, and English. Music is composed by Ajaneesh Loknath.

Pawan Kalyan’s OG has already been announced for a September 25 release. Rishab Shetty’s Pan-India film, Kantara: Chapter 1, is getting released on October 2. The competition of both films has led to the clash between Dil Raju and Mythri Movies in Nizam this Dasara. 

After Mythri Movies opened the distribution office in Nizam, there was a continuous battle between Dil Raju/Sirish and Mythri. Both the parties have officially expressed their competition and made allegations against each other as well.

For this Dasara, both distributors are again back to clash as Pawan Kalyan’s OG is releasing on 25 September, and the Nizam rights of this film are bought by Dil Raju. Now, Kantara: Chapter 1 is getting released on 2nd October, and rights have been acquired by the Mythri group.

Both OG and Kantara rights were sold for a very big price. So, a big clash between Dil Raju and Mythri Movies in Nizam this Dasara is on, as both teams will definitely fight for screens.

96 Sequel Dropped

The Tamil movie lovers were extremely happy when the sequel of 96, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha, was announced. However, they would be deeply disappointed, as the sequel is said to be dropped now.

Directed by Prem Kumar, the film is a blockbuster in Kollywood. A few months ago, the director and team announced a sequel for the movie.

But there is a buzz that some creative differences have happened within the team, and the film may not happen. Lately, director Prem Kumar’s official announcement about his next projects confirms that the film, 96 sequel, has been dropped.

  1. An adventure survival drama with 9 characters.
  2. An action thriller starring Fahadh Faasil in the lead role.
