Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan and directed by Shankar, was planned as a single part, but due to the big runtime and cost, it was divided into two parts. Now, the next part, Indian 3, is hit by the budget bomb.
Most of the shoot of the third part of the film had already been completed before the release of Indian 2, and the plan was to release it in July and complete the balance shoot of the third part and release the film immediately.
But Indian 2’s result came as a shocker to the team, and it was not only an outright disaster, but it also received huge criticism and trolls, including Kamal Haasan’s performance. With that, Indian 3 was put on hold, and at the same time, Shankar’s other film, Game Changer, and Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life ended up as huge disasters.
Kamal, Shankar, and the producers had multiple meetings to discuss and complete the balance shooting and release the next part. But reportedly, producers are not ready to spend a big budget on the remaining portion of the shoot.
There is also a buzz that Shankar is not convinced to complete the remaining shoot according to the producers quoted amount. So, the budget woes hit Shankar and Kamal Haasan’s Indian 3, and that is the reason for the film not going on floors.
We need to wait and see if these problems get resolved and the third part of Indian gets on track.

The total Telugu states gross of Mirai on the first weekend is around 36.5 Cr, and coming to the rest of India, Karnataka gross is 5 Cr, while Tamil Nadu and Kerala combined gross 1.5 Cr. The North India gross is 10 Cr, which takes the total all-India gross to 53 Cr.
In North America the film has collected $1.7 million for the weekend, with the rest of the world’s total estimated around $450K. So, the total overseas gross is 19 Cr.
Overall, the Karthik Gattamneni directorial total worldwide gross for the weekend is 72 cr, which is a huge one for the film, and it maintains similar range collections of 24 Cr for all 3 days.
Pawan Kalyan’s OG is having a sensational craze, and the film is said to have completed all post-production works also, and the runtime of the action drama is also locked.
Reportedly, the film’s unit is all set to dispatch all the content in this week itself to overseas, and the movie is going to be censored tomorrow.
It will be interesting to see whether the film gets A or U/A, as it contains a lot of violence. Of course, any team wants U/A to bring as many audiences as possible.

The film could have delivered double the numbers if there were no new releases, and as new releases opened with positive WOM, it impacted the film’s collections. But putting such numbers among the competition itself is a big achievement for the film.
The Sai Marthand directorial will continue to post numbers for a few more days and will easily get near the 40 Cr gross number in its full run. The collections are sensational for a small film made just on a 2.5 Cr budget.
