Kishkindhapuri Movie Review: A Standard Thriller With Some Interesting Parts

0

Movie Name: Kishkindhapuri
Rating: 2.75/5
Cast:
Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas, Anupama Parameswaran, Taniklla Bharani, Hyper Aadi, Sudarshan, Makarand Deshpande, Srikanth Iyyengar and Others
Director: Kaushik Pegallapati
Produced By:
 Sahu Garapati
Release Date: 12th September 2025

Kishkindhapuri is a new horror thriller starring Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas and Anupama Parameswaran. Confident in the film’s content, the team held paid premieres in Telugu states before its official release. The response from those shows has been mostly positive. Let’s take a closer look at the film.

Story:

Raghav (Bellamkonda Sreenivas) and Mythili (Anupama Parameswaran) work as ghost tour guides in Kishkindhapuri. They take tourists to abandoned mansions and share spooky stories. One day, Raghav and the tourist group choose an old radio station called Suvarna Maya for their tour. Things take a scary turn when a real ghost shows up and starts killing the visitors. The rest of the story follows how Raghav tries to save everyone and uncovers the ghost’s past.

Performances:

Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas performs well in the lead role. His character has some unique traits, especially in the final scenes, though he could have done better in parts. Anupama Parameswaran is decent as the female lead. Supporting actors like Tanikella Bharani, Prema, Hyper Aadi, Sudarshan, Makarand Deshpande, and Srikanth Iyyengar do justice to their roles.

Analysis:

Director Kaushik Pegallapati spends the first 10 minutes setting up the story. The hero’s introduction is routine, and the comedy scenes where the team takes tourists to haunted places work in some parts but aren’t very special.

The killing scenes could have been more thrilling, and the real excitement begins near the interval, when the hero discovers the ghost’s truth and challenges it. The second half dives into the ghost’s backstory, with emotional scenes involving the mother sentiment.

While the story isn’t very new, Kaushik’s way of presenting it is impressive. The pace slows down briefly but picks up again with a final reveal. However, the climax feels predictable, and a stronger ending could have made the film more impactful

Positives:

  • Initial Setup
  • Ghost Backstory
  • Few Thrilling Moments
  • Chaitan Bharadwaj’s Music

Negatives:

  • Ineffective Scenes of Hero and Gang in the first half
  • Misses Required Thrill During The Scary Moments
  • Not So Strong Climax

Kiskindhapuri Movie Review and Verdict:

Overall, Kishkindhapuri is a decent horror thriller. It has a strong start, a few enjoyable twists, and a solid second half. But the usual jump scares and a bit underwhelming climax hold it back from being truly memorable.

Little Hearts 1st Week Box Office Collections Are 10 Times the Budget

0

Little Hearts performed exceptionally well at the box office in its first week, and it is undoubtedly one of the unexpected blockbusters of Tollywood. The youthful entertainer’s collections are 10 times more than the budget.

The film was initially planned for a direct OTT release. But with the confidence in the output, Bunny Vas and Vamsi bought the theatrical rights for 2.5 Cr and released the film in theaters.

Little Hearts has a budget of 2.45 Cr, and the movie’s first-week collections are almost 10 times its budget. Very rarely can we see this type of phenomenal performance in the industry.

The film is expected to have a good 2nd weekend as well, despite the arrival of new films Mirai and Kishkindhapuri in theaters. The trade expects it to do more than 35 Cr gross in its full run.

Drishyam 3 Not an Intelligent Thriller

0

Not only Malayalam audiences, but even Telugu and Hindi viewers eagerly await Drishyam 3’s release, as the first two parts are big successes in all versions. Director Jeetu Joseph confirms that Drishyam 3 is not an intelligent thriller, and it will lean on emotions mostly.

In his recent interview, Jeetu said that the script work is completed, and it is different from the first 2 parts, as the story happens 4 years after the 2nd part. The filmmaker stated that if audiences expect an intelligent game like the 2nd part, they will be disappointed.

Drishyam 3 is more of an emotional journey, says director Jeetu Joseph

He clearly said that it is a different narrative film, but it’s surely a good film. Jeethu Joseph confirms that Drishyam 3 will not have many intelligent turns or scenes, and it will have only 45 days of shooting.

The director said that after completing the Malayalam version first, he will immediately next start the Telugu version.

Fans spin several stories on Drishyam 3’s Plot

A lot of people think that if the movie gets too emotional, it might not please fans who enjoyed the suspense and twists in the first two films.

But the fans think that Jeethu Joseph is downplaying Drishyam 3 on purpose to catch everyone off guard with some wild twists. The Drishyam franchise has a solid legacy, and fans are really looking forward to seeing how George Kutty’s next story mixes emotion with suspense.

Telusu Kada Teaser Fails to Impress

0

The teaser for Telusu Kada, an upcoming romantic drama starring Siddu Jonnalagadda of DJ Tillu fame, was recently released. However, it has received a lukewarm response from audiences, who are comparing it to his earlier film Krishna and His Leela.

Celebrity stylist Neerraja Kona is making her directorial debut with this film. Raashii Khanna and Srinidhi Shetty play the lead roles. The first song, “Mallika Gandha,” was well received by listeners.

The teaser hasn’t impressed many viewers, as it didn’t meet their expectations. From the video, it seems the story revolves around the hero falling in love with two women at the same time, which leaves his friend, played by Viva Harsha, confused.

The teaser is lighthearted and doesn’t reveal much about the plot. Still, audiences continue to compare it with Siddu’s 2020 OTT release, Krishna and His Leela.

We’ll have to wait until October 17 to see if the audience’s early reactions hold true. The film is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under the People Media Factory banner, with music composed by Thaman.

Dulquer Salmaan’s film Kaantha was originally set to release on September 12, but it has now been postponed indefinitely. The decision was made to give more space to Lokah, the Malayalam superhero film starring Kalyani Priyadarshan, which is currently doing very well at the box office.

Since Lokah is produced by Dulquer himself, he didn’t want to affect its successful run. A new release date for Kaantha hasn’t been announced yet, but there’s talk that it might aim for a Diwali release.

Dulquer Salmaan postpones Kaantha as a respect to Lokah’s Success

The film is being made on a large scale by Rana Daggubati, Dulquer Salmaan, Prashanth Potluri, and Jom Varghese under the banners of Spirit Media Pvt. Ltd. and Wayfarer Films Pvt. Ltd.

Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, Kaantha features Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead. The teaser caught people’s attention with its unique style, and many in the industry believe the story is inspired by a real historical figure, adding to the excitement.

The film is said to be based on the life of MK Thyagaraja Bhagavathar, often called Kollywood’s first superstar. Known as MKT, he began his singing career in 1920, became a popular stage performer, and entered films in 1934.

Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara is a huge Bollywood blockbuster this year, and after a huge, successful theatrical run, the film is all set to stream tonight on OTT. However, Saiyaara’s makers upset the Telugu viewers.

The romantic emotional drama arrives on Netflix tonight, but the disappointment is that only the Hindi version will stream, and there is no other language to watch/view. The Telugu viewers are upset, as they will not be able to watch Saiyaara.

Saiyaara Concept/Cast Details

Nizam Box Office: OG and Kantara Demand Ticket Hike

0

The Nizam Box Office looks at an interesting phase in the coming days, as Pawan Kalyan’s OG and Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter One demand a ticket hike in the area because of their big budget/business.

Every movie lover knows that the big movies apply for ticket hikes in both Telugu states for the first 10 days, but recently a new trend has been started where the producer takes a flat ticket price for early premieres.

In Andhra Pradesh, because of the government’s support of the industry, there is no problem with every movie getting the hike according to the team’s request. But coming to the Nizam, there are a lot of restrictions for ticket hikes and permissions.

Nizam: OG and Kantara Chapter 1 Ticket Hike Looks Complicated

Recently, the Coolie and War 2 makers requested ticket hikes in Nizam, but the government denied the permission, and it did not even allow the permission for special shows.

Now both OG and Kantara are said to be demanding a ticket hike in Nizam. The rights of “They Call Him OG” have been bought by Dil Raju, and Kantara rights are with Mythri. We need to wait and see how the Telangana government will respond to both movies.

There are more chances of OG getting the required permissions, as it is a straight film with a big budget and mainly starring Pawan Kalyan. Whereas for Rishab Shetty’s Kantara, the situation looks difficult, as it is a dubbed film.

Mirai Targets Double Digit Opening

0

Nowadays even the tier 2 stars also face a very big challenge to get good openings. But Teja Saja’s Mirai has been able to create a solid buzz among the audiences, and the fantasy action adventure is all set to have a double-digit opening at the box office.

The film is having terrific advances in all territories. In North America the premiere’s advance sales have already crossed 200K, and it is on track for 500K+ opening day. Only from overseas, the film targets a 5 Cr opening with positive WOM.

In Hyderabad City also the advance bookings are superb with more than 1.5 Cr+ advances, while the Andhra Pradesh bookings are trending on a good note as well. In any scenario the film will easily see 10 Cr+ opening worldwide in Telugu alone.

Teja Sajja’s Mirai will cross the double-digit opening at the box office, and if the WOM opens to positive, it will go even near 15 Cr.

For the breakeven, the film needs to collect around 50 Cr gross in the Telugu version, and for that breakeven number, the opening looks solid.

Lokah Storm: Industry Hit Looks Guaranteed After 2 Weeks

0

Malayalam’s latest blockbuster Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra took the box office by storm, as it has collected 210 Cr gross worldwide in 2 weeks. The trade says that an industry hit result looks guaranteed after observing the 2-week run of Lokah.

The film is holding extraordinarily well on weekdays too, and now it just needs to collect 55 Cr gross for industry hit status, and it will be easily achievable. By this weekend itself the film will reach around 240 Cr.

Also, the film will easily have run for another two weeks at the box office, and overall, Lokah becoming an industry hit looks guaranteed for sure.

Lokah: Chapter 1—Chandra is a 2025 Malayalam-language dark fantasy superhero film that marks the beginning of the Wayfarer Cinematic Universe, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan, Naslen, and Sandy, alongside others and a few star cameos as well.

Directed by Dominic Arun, the film was released on August 28, 2025, and has received critical acclaim for its storytelling, visuals, and performances.

Surprise Twist in OG Trailer and Event Plans

0

PSPK fans were highly excited when they learned that the trailer of their most awaited movie, Pawan Kalyan’s OG, will arrive in another week. However, the latest information suggests that there is a surprise twist in the plans of the film’s Trailer and pre-release event.

For a few days, there was a good buzz that the OG trailer will be released on 15th September, and the pre-release event will be held on 20th September in Vijayawada.

OG Trailer and Pre-Release Event Delayed

Now the news from close circles of the film’s producers is that the trailer will be delayed slightly, and now it will arrive on 18th September. This also means there is a change in the pre-release event, which will now happen in Vizag instead of Vijayawada on 20th September.

Reportedly, in this gap, the makers of “They Call Him OG” might release the third single. Undoubtedly, the film has huge hype among audiences, but the fans are getting frustrated with the delay in promotions.
