Tough 2025 for Anirudh

0

Anirudh is one such music director who has seen only highs in his career from the beginning and has a huge fan base/craze among Tamil and Telugu movie fans as well. However, in 2025 he is facing some challenges.

The energetic musician has faced criticism this year. For any music director a film’s success is crucial, and if the films are scoring big successes, then it will help that music director. In this way, 2025 becomes a tough year for Anirudh.

As of now, this year’s films of the Vikram music director are Vidaamuyarchi, Kingdom, and Coolie, and now Madharaasi, which are also not blockbusters. Vidaamuyarchi is an outright failure, whereas Kingdom is below average at the box office.

Even the much-hyped Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie also ended up with below-average to average status. Now Sivakarthikeyan’s Madharaasi is also heading towards the same as it sees a big drop on Monday.

There is no big blockbuster for Anirudh this year, which definitely is a setback for him.

It looks like there is no stopping to the Malayalam superhero film, Lokah’s run at the box office. Even the 2nd Monday collections of the film are way bigger than the opening day, which says how strong the movie’s run is, and the film also joins the 100 Cr club at the Indian box office.

Till now, the film has collected 63 Cr+ gross from Kerala, and it is definitely on track to hit the 100 Crore mark in Kerala too. Only Thudarum, starring Mohanlal, has achieved this milestone in Malayalam cinema till now.

Lokah, with 100 Cr gross in India and around 195 Cr gross worldwide for 12 days, is all set to join the 200 Cr club tomorrow. At this pace the film is on track to chase Empuraan’s full run and to emerge as the all-time biggest grosser for Mollywood.

Huge Fall for Madharaasi

0

Despite limited pre-release buzz, Sivakarthikeyan’s Madharaasi managed a decent opening weekend in Tamil Nadu, though its performance in the Telugu market remained below expectations. However, the film witnessed a huge fall in collections on its first Monday.

The movie grossed approximately ₹62 crore worldwide over its first weekend. But Monday saw a huge fall for Madharaasi of over 60%, bringing the four-day total to around ₹68 crore. This significant dip has put pressure on the film’s future collections.

Trade analysts believe the only hope now is for the film to stabilize in the coming days and avoid further declines. To achieve a “hit” status at the box office, Madharaasi needs to reach a gross of ₹150 crore, which will require a consistent and steady run in theatres.

Overall, for 4 days the film’s gross is around 16 Cr, and it promises huge numbers in its full run with its long run.

Lokah Struggles in Hindi Belt

0

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is the latest big blockbuster from the Malayalam film industry. The film is performing superbly at the theaters and is heading towards the biggest hit status. However, Lokah struggles to perform well in the Hindi belt.

In South India, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada stars have created an impact in Hindi belts, and for any film to go to a big level, cracking the North Indian market has become very important.

Mollywood recently started growing big, and now their films are doing well in Tamil and Telugu, but they are unable to crack big in Hindi. Even Lokah, which has collected double-digit gross in the Telugu States and double-digit gross in Tamil Nadu, struggled in the Hindi belt, as the collections are not up to the mark.

But the advantage for the film is, because it is a franchise, if part one works well on OTT with North audiences, then the Hindi version also will add box office numbers for part 2.

A similar range of holidays is expected to be announced in Andhra Pradesh as well. So, from the opening day till the 2nd weekend, there are a total of holidays for students, which will play a big role for the massive numbers of “They Call Him OG” at the box office.

The holidays will be a massive advantage for Pawan Kalyan’s OG, and if Kantara 2 gets postponed, the sky is the limit for its box office mayhem.
