Stree 2 historic 2nd weekend: Joins 400 crore club

Stree 2 starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao is unstoppable at the box office. The film is performing stunningly in all the territories in the Hindi Belt. So much so that Stree 2 had a historic 2nd weekend and it has also joined the reputed 400 crore club Indiawide now. This is just a phenomenal achievement for a low star cast film.

Stree 2 created a history by setting a new benchmark for a second weekend performance category. The film has grossed 93.85 crores in the second weekend and stands top now beating Gadar 2 with 90.47 crores. The film has witness house fulls over from multiplexes to single screens throughout the country taking the overall total to 400 crores. Urban centres are contributing much to the film on par with massy areas. The film grossed more than 300 crores in the first week and added 93.85 crores now to touch 400 crores.

Today’s holiday on the occasion of Krishnashtami will also add further to the collections. The makers have already announced that the film has grossed 500 crores worldwide. So the film may even add more with a good performance in the coming one or two weekends. Let’s wait and see how it does.

Mufasa: The Lion King is a sequel to the Hollywood Blockbuster film, The Lion King which released in 2019. The film will have voice overs given by Tollywood Comedians Ali and Brahmanandam alongwith Tollywood Top Star Mahesh Babu surprisingly. The Actor has dubbed for the character of Mufasa. The Telugu Trailer of Mufasa: The Lion King was released today which features these voice overs.

The film will logically be a prequel to The Lion King and is centered around the childhood of Mufasa and Scar also known as Taka who play rivals later in The Lion King film. Mufasa will act as the adoptive brother of Scar in the film. Both these lions are shown as lovable brothers in the trailer. But fate makes them rivals in the later days for the throne chair.

Mahesh Babu as said dubbed for the Mufasa character. This will be his first collaboration for a Hollywood dubbed film. Ali and Brahmanandam dubbed for the characters of Timon and Pumba. These two comedians had already dubbed for the same characters in The Lion King film. The trailer has generated good response by crossing more than 100K views in 2 hours. Let’s see how it performs in the 24 hours.

Stree 2 sensational run in Telugu

Stree 2 starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao has taken a great start at the box office on the opening day itself. The film performed stunningly in the first weekend worldwide as well. But what turned interesting is the film’s performance in the Telugu version. Stree 2 has continued a sensational run in Telugu version by grossing nearly 17 crores in AP and Telangana.

Stree 2 will definitely be in the top 10 list in the All Time Hindi Nett/Grossers in AP and Telangana by today. The film is also poised to end up in the top 4 in the full run by beating Dangal which grossed around 22 crores. But the film looks unable to beat the record of Animal, Jawaan and Pathaan in other southern regions. All these three films had good promotional activies done unlike Stree 2 which was released in direct Hindi version.

The team of Stree 2 will be happy for the film’s performance in Telugu version. On the other hand, the film looks unstoppable in Hindi Belt and overseas market. It has also established a record in the second weekend box office performance. The film is also the second film next to Gadar in Second Saturday performance in India.

Darshan getting VIP treatment in Central Jail

Kannada Actor, Darshan is one of the top actors in the Kannada Film Industry. The Actor however got stuck in a big controversy recently. He was alleged of murdering a fan for harrassing an actress. Subsequently, Darshan was also arrested and put in Jail. Now, Darshan seems to be getting VIP treatment in the Central Jail he is in.

An image of Darshan has been leaked and has also gone viral on social media. The picture shows Darshan sitting casually with a cigarette in his hand in the Jail. This was not at all well received by the fans and audience who are bashing the Government for providing VIP treatment to Darshan in the Jail. The Actor was also seen taking part in a Whatsapp video call with somebody. This was also criticised by the audience now.

Following this, the Jail staff and officials were suspended. It needs to be seen how Darshan will be treated from now in the Jail. This is not at all good on the part of Jail Authority and Government towards an Actor who was alleged to be a part of the murder. There is also no use of arresting the person if special assistance is provided.

Game Changer is the upcoming film of Ram Charan directed by Shankar. The film has been under shoot for many years. Director Shankar’s other commitment in the form of Indian 2 has also added to Game Changer’s troubles. With Indian 2’s recent disastrous performance, there is no clarity left for Shankar on Game Changer.

Game Changer had no specific release date earlier but Dil Raju, the producer recently revealed that the film will release during Christmas season. So Everyone fel that the film would at last release in 2024. But the recent news indicates that Game Changer may very well get postponed to 2025. This has again disappointed the fans and audience.

Indian 2 has become a box office bomb. The film’s continuation part, Indian 3’s fate now hangs in balance. Shankar needs to complete Indian 3 first and become successful with it. So he would definitely delay Game Changer for Indian 3. He would think about Game Changer only after finishing off Indian 3. Game Changer’s shoot has started in 2021 and it’s been 3 years without a film release for Ram Charan. This is another disappointing thing for Mega Fans. Game Changer is a crucial film not only for Shankar but also for Ram Charan. Fours years of time for a single film would get wasted for him if something bad happens for Game Changer.

A couple of days ago, he announced that Game Changer will hit the big screens for Christmas, but multiple sources claim that that film is very likely to get postponed.

Apparently, Shankar wants more time to complete the final edit and post-production work. Indian 2’s debacle could be the reason why the legendary filmmaker is taking extra care. If Game Changer is out of the December race, then it has to arrive for summer, which Raju is reportedly not keen about.
