Soori and Suhas team up for Mandaadi

Kollywood Actor Soori and Tollywood Actor Suhas are teaming up for their upcoming film, Mandaadi. The official posters of the film were also released where the Actors look fierce. They will also be playing the role of fishermen as seen from these posters. Noted Director, Vetrimaaran serves as the Creative Producer for the film.

The film was initially speculated to be bilingual, but it has been learnt that it will be shot in Tamil, with Actor Suhas portraying the Antagonist role. This is indeed a great opportunity for Suhas to prove himself. This will also be his Tamil debut. Soori, who already collaborated with Vetrimaaran for his Viduthalai series, will again team with him.

Their previous film, Viduthalai Part 2, disappointed heavily, and now they look to make a comeback with this film. Mandaadi will be directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, and G.V. Prakash Kumar will compose the tunes. The release date of the film will be announced soon.

Hit The Third Case Day 5 Box Office: Decent Hold

Hit: The Third Case, starring Natural Star Nani, has had an impressive run at the box office so far. The film opened to a terrific extended 4-day weekend, raking in a share of ₹45 crore and a gross of ₹85 crore worldwide.

Maintaining a steady hold, the film collected close to ₹5 crore gross and around ₹2 crore share on its first Monday, taking the total gross to ₹90 crore and the share to ₹47 crore. The investigative thriller has already achieved breakeven in major territories like Nizam, Uttarandhra , Overseas, and the Rest of India . In Andhra Pradesh, it has managed to recover nearly 80% of its theatrical value. For the film to turn profitable for all distributors, it needs to sustain these decent numbers through the rest of the week.

Excluding GST, the five-day worldwide share stands at ₹43 crore, while the theatrical rights are valued at ₹47 crore. With just a small margin left, Hit: The Third Case is poised to reach break even within this week. The film’s gripping narrative and Nani’s performance have clearly struck a chord with the audience, turning it into a commercial success.

Mohanlal’s Thudarum, released at the end of April, is continuing its sensational run overseas. It collected 2.2M on the second weekend, which takes the total to 9.2M USD. It is on its way to becoming the second-highest overseas grosser for Malayalam Cinema.

Thudarum and HIT: The Third Case perform well overseas along with Raid 2, While Suriya’s Retro Disappoints

Because after Empuraan, this family drama/thriller is all set to join the 10M club. Nani’s HIT 3 had a very good opening weekend, and it is also the biggest for Nani with $2.6M, while Suriya’s Retro had a very disappointing weekend with $ 2.55 M.

Bollywood film Raid, starring Ajay Devgn, had a decent weekend with a jump on each day with $ 1.7 M. Kollywood’s small film, Tourist Family, is doing very well overseas. The film started with 50K on the opening day and collected 450K over the weekend.

Simbu’s next STR49 kickstarted officially

Kollywood Actor Simbu is gearing up for his next film, tentatively titled STR49. The film has been kick-started officially with the team attending a Pooja Ceremony. The Video of the event was also released now featuring the cast and crew. Happening Actress, Kayadu Lohar has also come onboard the film to play the female lead.


The film will also feature Comedian cum Actor Santhanam in a pivotal role. This will also be his first character role after the Actor started working only in solo films. The recent sensation, Sai Abhyankkar, will also compose the tunes for the film as the Music Director.

Director Ramkumar Balakrishnan revealed the film to be set in the backdrop of a college where Simbu will play the role of a Student. He will also appear in a stylish role, as stated by the Director. The film will be produced by Aakash Bhaskaran under his Dawn Pictures. STR49 is currently scheduled for release on 14th January, 2026.
