Tollywood’s Reliable Stars: NTR and Nani

0

The success rate is very low in Telugu cinema. Putting BO numbers and records aside, delivering continuous good films is a very rare feat. Currently, NTR and Nani have become the reliable stars in Tollywood, as they are consistently delivering good content films.

Starting from Temper, Nannaku Prematho, Janatha Garage, Jai Lavakusa , Aravinda Sametha, RRR, and the recent Devara, NTR delivered 7 good films consistently and did not face a failure over the last 10 years. This is a superb feat, and no Telugu hero has matched this.

Continuous Good Films from Nani- NTR

The same can be said for Nani. Post-Corona, all his theatrical releases are good content films. Starting from Shyam Singa Roy, Ante Sundaraniki, Dasara, Hi Nanna, Saripodha Sanivaaram, and now HIT 3, the natural star has delivered continuous good content films.

Because of Nani’s goodwill, HIT 3 opened to superb openings at the box office, while NTR also gathered extraordinary openings with Devara. In this way, NTR and Nani have become the reliable stars in Tollywood with continuous good content films.

Cinema World Rattled by Trump’s Latest Policy

US President Donald Trump has issued a bold policy declaration, calling for a 100% tariff on all films produced outside the United States. Trump announced on his Truth Social platform that the American film industry is under threat from an increasing trend of studios filming abroad to take advantage of lower costs and foreign tax breaks.

Trump labeled the situation a “national security threat,” accusing foreign governments of purposely luring US productions with lucrative subsidies. He directed the Department of Commerce and the United States Trade Representative to start applying the tariff immediately. This proposal follows a pattern of aggressive trade strategies under Trump’s leadership, many of which have triggered retaliation from other countries. For instance, China recently scaled back its import of American films, seen as a response to previous U.S. tariffs.

Industry experts have raised concerns about the feasibility of such a move, pointing out that films, as intellectual property, don’t fit neatly into traditional tariff frameworks. However, Trump’s camp argues that foreign incentives have unfairly hurt domestic productions, causing a shift to popular overseas locations like Canada and Ireland. The policy is expected to ignite strong reactions from Hollywood and global trade partners alike.

Nizam Breakeven achieved in opening weekend

Natural Star Nani’s latest crime thriller, HIT: The Third Case, is breaking records at the global box office. The film, directed by Sailesh Kolanu, stars Srinidhi Shetty as the female lead and has captured moviegoers with its captivating narrative.Hit 3 showcases Nani in a whole mass look, exciting his fans.

One of the film’s main attractions has been its performance in the Nizam region. Dil Raju purchased the theatrical rights to Nizam for Rs 11 crore, and the film recouped this amount in its opening weekend alone. This makes Nizam the first area to achieve break-even, solidifying its image as Nani’s stronghold.

Interestingly, the pattern in Nizam showed a day-by-day increase in collections, with day one earning more than day two, day two exceeding day three, and day three surpassing day four. While this is good in the near term, sustainability in the next few days will be critical in determining the film’s long-term success. Despite its A-certificate, HIT 3 is drawing enormous crowds thanks to Nani’s star power and captivating plot.

Big danger for Kannappa from Pawan Kalyan

0

Tollywood Actor Manchu Vishnu is currently working on his big-budgeted Kannappa. The film has an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, Kajal Aggarwal, and Prabhas. The film was initially planned for release for the end of April, but the team postponed it to 27th June as the VFX works were delayed.

On the other hand, Hari Hara Veera Mallu starring Pawan Kalyan saw multiple postponements due to the Actor’s political commitments. Now, as per sources, the team is preparing to release the film on 30th May, which coincides with the release date of Kingdom starring Vijay Deverakonda. The team of Hari Hara Veera Mallu must utilize the dates of Pawan Kalyan and make sure the shoot gets completed within a week.

The Producer of Hari Hara Veera Mallu, A.M. Rathnam, must also start negotiations with the distributors who are learnt to have refused the quoted amount by him. This may take some more time, and there is also a buzz that the team is considering June for the release of Hari Hara Veera Mallu if the pending works and financial negotiations aren’t finished early.

Now, this has become a danger for Kannappa, which has fixed June 27th as its release date. The team of Kannappa expects the film to become a big blockbuster, and, if a clash happens with Hari Hara Veera Mallu it may have to suffer. So, let’s wait and see.

What’s Hurting Nani? A Closer Look

In the current landscape of Telugu cinema, Nani has firmly established himself as the most reliable and promising hero in the Tier-2 category. At a time when many Tier-2 films are struggling to secure decent OTT deals and theatrical business, Nani stands out with his consistent choices and sharp judgment. His films are closing lucrative OTT deals at early stages and fetching solid theatrical prices, making them profitable ventures for producers and distributors alike.

However, one noticeable concern persists. While his movies perform exceptionally well on OTT platforms, gaining massive viewership and positive reception from audiences across languages, the same impact isn’t translating to theatres outside the Telugu states. Despite Nani’s sincere efforts in promoting his films across regions, visiting cities, interacting with local media, and building hype the footfalls in theatres from non-Telugu audiences remain underwhelming.

It’s a paradox where his films become hits on digital platforms after a quiet theatrical run in other languages. This trend highlights the need for a stronger theatrical pull in wider markets. Still, Nani’s consistent success with OTT and his growing pan-Indian recognition solidify his place as a dependable star who delivers content-driven, commercially viable cinema.

Thudarum sets industry record

0

Thudarum starring Mohanlal, released recently and shocked all with its blockbuster performance. The film achieved a unanimous positive response and never looked back. It has already entered the 100 crore club worldwide and is aiming for an industry record now. Mohanlal, who established an industry record recently with his L2: Empuraan, is set to repeat this in a short span.

Thudarum was made on a low budget, unlike L2: Empuraan, which was also miles ahead in terms of popularity and buzz. But Thudarum is unstoppable in achieving bigger milestones than L2: Empuraan. L2: Empuraan has set a big record in the 1st week but didn’t continue the same momentum later but Thudarum is having a rampage hold.

Thudarum, even on Day 9, collected more than 6 crores in Kerala, which is more than the opening Day’s collection. Today, the film is already carrying more than 5 crore advances in Kerala. Today, Thudarum will become the 1st ever in Mollywood history to mint 5 crores gross in 10 consecutive days in Kerala. It will establish the record of a double-digit gross worldwide for 10 consecutive days.

Thudarum is also all set to join the 150 crores gross worldwide by today. In Kerala, the film has collected 59 crores gross in just 9 days, and today it will breach the 65 crores mark. It is also set to become the 1st 100 crore grosser in Kerala alone in the upcoming weekends.
