The Telangana government has granted permission to increase ticket prices for Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, starring Yash, just hours before the film’s release. The GO allows a ₹50 hike in single screens and ₹100 in multiplexes for a 10-day period. Bookings are expected to open shortly following this approval.
This follows a similar pattern to other major releases this year, including Peddi, which received ticket hikes in Telangana for a 10-day period.
Ticket Price Hike Breakdown
| Theatre Type | Ticket Hike | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Single Screens | ₹50 | 10 days |
| Multiplexes | ₹100 | 10 days |
Government-Mandated Conditions
The Telangana government has imposed two mandatory conditions for the ticket price hike:
- The film’s producer must transfer ₹1 crore to the welfare account designated for Telugu film employees.
- Anti-narcotics advertisements must be screened during the film’s screening without fail.
Special Theatre Pricing
This approval comes shortly after the Telangana government issued a new GO permitting special theatres in single screens with ticket prices up to ₹300. It remains to be seen whether Toxic will implement such premium pricing in addition to the standard ₹100 ticket hike in multiplexes across Telangana.
