Priyanka Mohan Joins LCU

LCU is undoubtedly the biggest franchise of Kollywood. Till now three films, Kaithi, Vikram, and have been released under the franchise, and all have been directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The latest news is that actress Priyanka Mohan joins LCU.

As said above, Lokesh directed all three films of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, but for the first time, an LCU film was directed by another filmmaker. The story, screenplay, and production will be done by Lokesh Kanagaraj.

The film is titled Benz, and it was announced long ago but was delayed. Finally, Benz Film’s official pooja ceremony was done, and the shoot started yesterday. Directed by Bhagyaraja Kannan, the film’s music will be composed by Sai Abhyankar.

It was said that HanuMan director Prasanth Varma would direct Mokshu’s debut, but the latest news is that Mokshagna’s debut has a director change.

Mokshagna was to make his debut in PVCU (Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe), and the official announcement was also made about it. However, due to some unforeseen circumstances, the film’s launch did not happen.

Prasanth Varma will not direct Mokshagna’s Debut Film

Now, the latest news in the industry is that Mokshagna’s debut has a director change, and Krish Jagarlamudi will be that director. Director Krish worked with Balakrishna for Gautami Putra Satakrani, NTR Kathanayakudu, and NTR Mahanayakudu.

Reportedly, the actor and director are collaborating for the fourth time for a film, and in that film, Nandamuri Mokshanga will play a crucial role. This is not official as of now, and a confirmation is expected to be out soon. 

Prasanth Varma is yet to make a film after HanuMan

Prasanth Varma announced continuous projects without any gap, but due to some hurdles, the filmmaker is yet to start his film after a blockbuster like HANU-MAN. A film with Ranveer Singh started but was shelved.

After that, Prasanth Varma spent a lot of time on Mokshagna’s debut, which was also shelved. But the young director has a good lineup of projects, a film with Prabhas and Jai Hanuman in his direction, and he will simultaneously back two films in PVCU. Mahankali and Adhira are in progress under his supervision.

As said above, for a long time, the fans of the Ghajini actor wanted him to make a good comeback and thought that Retro would be that one film, but it failed to impress audiences. The film did lower than Kanguva at the worldwide box office.

Suriya’s Retro fails to cross the 100 Cr mark

Kanguva somehow managed to go past the 100 Cr mark, whereas Retro is closing under 100 Cr. Till Monday, 12th May, the Karthik Subbaraj directorial has collected 48.5 Cr gross in Tamil Nadu, 22 Cr gross in the rest of India, and 24.5 Cr gross overseas, which takes the total gross to 95 Cr, which is almost the closing number for the film.

Suriya’s Retro falls short of the 100 Cr Club, and the film was made on a reasonable budget and fetched good non-theatrical deals. Because of that, it did not end up as a big loss venture like Kanguva. 

Suriya needs to make a massive comeback

But for the market of Suriya, trade considers it as bad revenue, as other competitors’ films are doing 250-300 Cr and even 400 Cr, but Suriya’s recent films are struggling for 100 Cr itself. 

Suriya needs to make a big comeback. His next film with RJ Balaji is scheduled for release this October, while the Venky Atluri film is slated for a summer 2026 release.

The five new OTT releases felt like a torture for the viewers. All the five films did not do well at telugu box office and ended up as big disasters. But due to good star presence the people waited for the OTT release.

This operation heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, leading to cross-border strikes and retaliations until a ceasefire was agreed upon. 

However, tensions are still high, as Pakistan breached the ceasefire shortly after it began. Indian forces have been ordered to respond decisively to any further violations along the Line of Control and the International Border.

After the super success Sivarapalli, Rag Mayur has been on a signing spree! First up, his special appearance in the latest film Subham, produced by Samantha Ruth Prabhu and directed by Praveen Kandregula, is garnering acclaim. “I wanted to thank Samantha garu and Parveen garu for the opportunity,” says Rag Mayur. “My character (Maridesh) Babu is like an extension to what I have done in Cinema Bandi. I loved the quirkiness and the fun spin my character brings, so it was a role that I couldn’t resist. I am glad to see the response for my character, and even happier that the film became a super success.”

Rag Mayur is next seen in director Praveen Kandregula’s third film, Paradha. The actor is paired opposite Anupama Parameswaran. “It’s a full-length role, the way my character is designed and woven into the narrative will be interesting,” he says, adding that the film will be a new social drama promising a unique and unforgettable cinematic experience.”

The actor is shooting for another film, a buddy comedy, bankrolled by GA2. He also has Garividi Lakshmi under People Media Factory that is progressing briskly. The film is based on the inspiring story of the iconic Burra Katha artist Garividi Lakshmi from North Andhra Pradesh. “What’s heartening to see all the characters I am doing are different from each other. So, the roles are giving me an opportunity to try different things and be versatile. Working with top production houses is giving me better insights into filmmaking. I am blessed to get great opportunities to work with wonderful technicians. Conversations with them are bringing a different dimension to my acting,” shares Rag Mayur.
