Interim Bail for Jani Master

Jani Master, a well-known choreographer in Indian cinema, primarily in Telugu and Tamil films, has been detained by police on sexual harassment charges. Jani Master sought interim bail in the High Court to attend the National Awards celebration from October 6th to October 10th. Following his plea, the High Court granted him interim bail with limitations.

The High Court ordered him to pay Rs. 2 lakhs twice as personal guarantees. The Court further ordered that he should appear in court on October 10th at 10:00 a.m., without fail. They also established regulations stating that he should not speak with the media or engage in any type of public discussion over the issue. The court has instructed him not to seek additional temporary bail in the meantime.

The choreographer earned a National Award for his work in the film Thiruchitrambalam, and he is set to receive it in person in New Delhi. The choreographer is currently facing serious charges from his former assistant, who claims he sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions and threatened her not to discuss the matter in public. She even alleged that he tried to use his status and power to prevent her from advancing in her profession as an independent choreographer.

Tamil Actor Vijay has confirmed his upcoming film, tentatively titled, Thalapathy69 under the direction of H. Vinoth. The film will also be Vijay’s final film after which he will be moving on to politics full time. Fans and Audience were excited about the film but the recent buzz around the film has disappointed them. It is being rumoured that Thalapathy69 would either be a remake or adaptation of Telugu film, Bhagavanth Kesari starring Balakrishna.

Recently all the star cast of the film was announced. Actresses Mamitha Baiju and Pooja Hegde were officially taken onboard. This has also raised doubts about their inclusion. Many feel that Mamitha Baiju would be playing the role of Sree Leela and Pooja Hegde would reprise Kajal Aggarwal‘s role in the film. The team is also rumoured to have taken the remake rights already.

This has hurt Vijay’s fans badly. They wanted to see him do a full fledged commercial Masala film but not a remake at this stage. Moreover, Vijay who once known for remaking many films in his career has stopped doing remakes since long time. So, the Actor, now remaking a latest Telugu film which is already available on OTT is disappointing the Fans and Audience big time. This year witnessed the release of Kamal Haasan’s film Indian 2, which did not perform well with the audience. During the film’s release, Shankar announced that a third part is in the works. A glimpse of sorts was added at the end of Indian 2. According to recent reports, Indian 3 is in talks with Netflix about a direct OTT release.

Kamal Haasan is anticipated to play a different character in Indian 3, which would take place before Independence. Actor Kajal Aggarwal is likely to have more screen time in Indian 3. It is well known that audiences reacted negatively to Indian 2 upon its release. According to recent reports, Indian 3 will be released directly on OTT in January 2025. Netflix is in talks with the producers, Lyca Productions. However, no formal announcement has been made regarding this. In fact, during the promotions of Indian 2, Kamal Haasan claimed that he favors Indian 3 over Indian 2 because it had a lot more to give the viewers.

Kamal Haasan plays Senapathy, a freedom fighter who becomes a vigilante to combat societal corruption. Indian 3 will feature Kamal Haasan, SJ Suryah, Kajal Agarwal, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and other actors. Following the disastrous performance of Indian 2, this is a sensible option for the film team as well.

Devara Hindi Goes Past 50 crores Gross in India

The latest pan-India blockbuster starring Jr. NTR, ‘Devara Part 1’, is without a doubt one of the year’s biggest blockbusters. Koratala Siva directed the Telugu action thriller, which stars Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Prakash Raj, and Murali Sharma.

Devara made its global theatrical debut last week on September 27th, 2024, in five languages: Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The film received largely positive reviews from fans and critics alike.

The GOAT OTT release Disapponts

GOAT, aka ‘The Greatest Of All Time,’ starring Vijay, premiered in theaters on September 5 and quickly became a commercial success. After storming the box office for over a month, ‘GOAT’ received a quick digital release and is now accessible for streaming on a Netflix digital platform. However, there was some uncertainty over the ‘GOAT’ digital version, as the film’s uncut version was reported to be available on OTT.

Venkat Prabhu himself stated that the OTT version will differ from the theatrical version and that the director’s version will be released on OTT. Many scenes were eliminated due to runtime difficulties. Fans and spectators were anxiously awaiting the release of the OTT version due to the expanded runtime. However, only theatrical versions were released on OTT.

‘GOAT’ director Venkat Prabhu clarified on social media, writing: “For director’s cut, a lot of VFX and finishing work are necessary!! So, I’ll talk to my producers @Ags_production about releasing it as deleted scenes or an expanded edit in the near future!!! Now, enjoy this version!!”.

This means that the uncut version will be uploaded at a later date or made available as deleted scenes on special occasions. Meanwhile, those who waited for the uncensored version of ‘GOAT’ are unhappy, and the wait continues.

Devara success meet cancelled?

Devara starring NTR has been rocking the box office since its release. The film has also managed to gross more than 300 crores at the box office worldwide. NTR showed his stardom completely right from the midnight shows premiered. Fans and Audience wanted a grand success meet to celebrate the film’s success. But it looks like Devara success meet may have been cancelled by the team.

The distributor of the film, Naga Vamsi has clarified about this saying that they were unable to get permission to hold a success meet despite having no pre-release event for the film as well. He said that no permission was granted for them to conduct the success meet in outdoor locations due to the Dasara and Devi Navaratri festival celebrations.

Devara’s pre-release event was cancelled at the last moment due to the overflocking of the fans and audience at the event spot. It disappoints the fans and audience again to not have a success meet for Devara despite the film rocking the box office like anything.

As projected earlier, Devara witnessed a good jump on the 6th day with a Gandhi Jayanti holiday advantage. The film had an excellent first weekend and saw a slight slump in weekday collections. Devara, however, saw a sharp rise in the occupancies and box-office performance yesterday. Here’s an area-wise breakdown of Devara’s gross collections after 6 days.

The Telugu states contributed a colossal Rs 158 crores, while Karnataka’s gross collections stand at a solid Rs 28 crores. Tamil Nadu’s Rs 8.5 crore gross and Kerala’s Rs 2 crore sum up South India’s performance. After 6 days, the rest of India’s collections stood at an impressive Rs 52 crores. The all-India collections have now risen to Rs 248.5 crores.

In overseas markets, Devara has collected $8.15 million so far adding another Rs 68 crores approx to the overall gross. The total Devara gross collections now stand at an impressive Rs 317 crores after 6 days. The film is expected to hit Rs 400 crores mark by this weekend.
