Undoubtedly, Director Lokesh Kanagaraj is the number one director of Tamil cinema at present. In a recent interview, the filmmaker spoke about his biggest wish. Lokesh Kanagraj’s dream project, a Rajinikanth-Kamal Haasan film, faced practical hurdles.

The young and talented filmmaker has worked with Kamal Haasan for Vikram, and he is all set to release Rajini’s Coolie this August. A few years back, Lokesh wanted to make a film with the two legendary stars/actors.

However, sadly, Lokesh Kanagraj’s dream project, the Rajinikanth-Kamal Haasan film, faced practical hurdles. In his latest interview, the Coolie director mentioned his plan regarding the upcoming movies along with the dream of a Rajini-Kamal film.

“We were close to finalizing it. Both Rajini sir and Kamal sir spoke in front of me after I narrated the idea. The concept remains the same—it’s about two aging gangsters and their journey. Now, the scale of their careers is massive, so while the idea is still intact, making it happen has become practically challenging.

After facing a disastrous result at the box office, Robinhood, the latest action comedy starring Nithin and directed by Venky Kudumula, made its TV/OTT debut on the same day.  Nithin-Sree Leela’s Robinhood is now available for streaming on ZEE5.

On Sunday, i.e., today, May 11, 6 PM, the film premiered on Zee Telugu, and it is also available for streaming on ZEE5. The Zee group applied the same strategy for Venkatesh and Anil Ravipudi’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam.

Thudarum creates history: Mollywood’s Third 200 crore Blockbuster

Thudarum, starring Mohanlal, which released recently, became a sensational blockbuster. The film achieved a unanimous positive response and did rampage at the box office. The film is still running in its third weekend and posting solid numbers. Yesterday, the film collected more than 6.5 crores gross worldwide taking the total Gross to 195 crores.

Kerala’s gross of Thudarum is 90 crores which already became the highest grosser. The film is set to achieve 100 crores gross in Kerala alone in the next 3-4 days. The film will also be joining the 200 crore club worldwide today. Thudarum is also all set to become the third 200 crore grosser for Mollywood after Manjummel Boys and L2: Empuraan.

Manjummel Boys collected 240 crores gross with Tamil Nadu’s big contribution. L2: Empuraan, which released recently collected more than 260 crores gross worldwide, occupying the top position now. It has to be seen where Thudarum will settle as it is still running strong.

Currently, Lokesh is all set to release Coolie, starring Rajinikanth and many South Indian actors in crucial roles. During a recent interview, the director spoke about the films he made with Thalapathy Vijay, and he made an interesting point. Lokesh Kanagaraj prefers Master Sequel over Leo Sequel.

According to Lokesh, after Coolie’s release, he will make Kaithi 2, Vikram 2, and Leo 2 before moving on to a standalone film on Rolex. Also, he stated that he personally likes to explore JD, the lead character in Master.

The Vikram director said that he wants to do Master 2 with Vijay, and he has a proper idea for that, which the latter knows. Lokesh thinks there’s a part of the story that still needs to be told, and he likes to see Thalapathy in a JD vibe.

The fans continuously ask Lokesh Kangaraj to do a movie with Vijay, but the actor already declared Jana Nayagan is his last film. Now, we need to see what will happen in the future.

Vishwak Sen Directing a Pan-World Film

Actor Vishwak Sen, known for his dynamic presence both in front of and behind the camera, is all set to embark on a new cinematic journey with his latest project, CULT. After proving his mettle as a writer, director, and producer with Falaknuma Das and Das Ka Dhamki, Vishwak is once again taking on multiple roles—this time as the story writer, director, and lead actor of CULT.

The film was officially launched today with a grand muhurat ceremony held at Ramanaidu Studios. Esteemed guests such as S Radha Krishna (Chinna Babu), who unveiled the title logo, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who switched on the camera, and Allu Aravind, who gave the first clap, added star power to the launch event. Produced by Karate Raju and Sandeep Kakarala under Tarak Cinemas and Vanmaye Creations.

The technical crew includes Ravi Basrur composing the music, Arvind Vishwanathan handling cinematography, and Ravi Teja Girijala as the editor.
