Trump Lawsuit Costs YouTube Over 200 Cr

0

In a surprising legal development, YouTube has agreed to pay $24.5 million (over 200) to settle a lawsuit brought by U.S. President Donald Trump over the suspension of his account after the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

The lawsuit was filed in July 2021, and it accused YouTube and its parent company Alphabet Inc. of violating Trump’s First Amendment rights and engaging in what he called “impermissible censorship” of conservative voices.

On January 12, 2021, YouTube suspended Trump’s channel, citing violations of its policies against inciting violence. What initially appeared to be a seven-day suspension was later extended indefinitely over fears of further unrest.

YouTube to pay more than 200 crores to Trump in a lawsuit

As part of the settlement, $22 million will be paid on Trump’s behalf to the Trust for the National Mall, a nonprofit managing the construction of a $200 million ballroom at the White House. Another $2.5 million will be shared among other plaintiffs in the case, including the American Conservative Union and author Naomi Wolf.

Notably, the settlement does not involve any admission of wrongdoing by YouTube. The company explained that the decision was made to sidestep the expenses and uncertainties of extended litigation.

Junior Hits OTT – Watch on Two Platforms

0

Kireeti Reddy’s Junior has been the most awaited one for the OTT viewers in recent times. The great news is that the film “Junior” is now available for streaming on OTT, and it’s accessible on not just one but two platforms.

After its theatrical release, this film kept the fans waiting for its digital arrival, and it also changed the premiere, but now, the film finally hits OTT, and Junior’s Telugu version is streaming on two platforms, Prime Video and Aha, and the Kannada version is streaming on Nammaflix.

Junior, the emotional entertainer directed by Radha Krishna Reddy and produced by Sai Korrapati at Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram. The movie was filmed at the same time in Telugu and Kannada, featuring Kireeti Reddy in his first role, along with Sreeleela, Genelia D’Souza, and V. Ravichandran playing key parts.

Kantara Chapter 1 Trailer Backfires Big

0

Kantara (2022) is undoubtedly a sensational blockbuster like Pushpa, KGF, and Baahubali. However, the film’s prequel, Kantara Chapter 1, is not trending as the sequels of the above-mentioned films are, as its trailer did not click with audiences.

The sequel films of Pushpa, KGF, and Baahubali opened with record numbers and became huge blockbusters, whereas Kantara’s prequel is struggling with advance bookings.

We can say that the main reason for such low buzz is Kantara Chapter 1’s trailer, which did not live up to the expectations and damaged the hype. The audiences expected the trailer with complete divine elements and links to the Bhootakola, with historic references, but the trailer tells a different story.

Fans online speculate that the team either intentionally underplayed the movie or the story has so much content that it couldn’t all be shown. But the trailer did not live up to the audiences’ expectations, which did unexpected damage to the film’s hype.

At the same time, the team caused a significant delay in releasing the film’s content and didn’t put much effort into major promotions either.

Now all depends on the audience’s WOM; with Kantara Part 1 branding the film will see a respectable opening in all languages, but it will be nowhere near KGF 2. If WOM is good like the first part, then the numbers will be massive for Kantara Chapter 1.

OG Day 5 Box Office – Mixed Bag

0

OG, starring Pawan Kalyan and directed by fanboy Sujeeth, brings back Pawan Kalyan’s trademark energy and box-office potential. The film has been unanimously loved by fans, and they received it massively. But on its day 5, OG got mixed results at the box office.

It has already become Pawan Kalyan’s biggest grosser within just 2 days. Over the opening weekend, the film collected ₹225 Cr gross and around ₹135 Cr share worldwide.

OG sees mixed results at the box office on Day 5

On the first working day, the movie maintained a decent hold in Andhra Pradesh, which is impressive since it was a pre-festival period where bigger drops are usually expected. The film managed to put up steady numbers across all territories, giving hope that it could see big collections on Wednesday and Thursday.

The big disappointment is in the Nizam territory, where Pawan Kalyan’s OG witnessed a massive drop on Day 5 after a strong weekend. Ticket hikes might be a factor for this performance. However, with the high court’s decision to slash ticket prices today, the movie could see better collections going forward.

In ROI and Overseas, the film also showed a below-par hold on Day 5. Overall, it’s a mixed bag. The total 5-day gross is estimated at ₹235 Cr, with a share of around ₹140 Cr. For a hit status, the film needs to hold well today and witness strong jumps from tomorrow, as it requires another ₹40 Cr share.

YouTube Introduces Premium Lite: All Details Here

0

YouTube, the online video sharing platform, is one of the most used apps in the daily life of Indians. The platform came up with a new plan, which received mixed reactions. YouTube Introduces Premium Lite, but the users are not so happy with it.

If a user just wants to skip ads on regular videos and save money, Premium Lite is the best possible option. If one enjoys music, multitasking, or watching offline, the full YouTube Premium subscription (Rs 149 per month) might be a better option.

YouTube recently launched Premium Lite in India as a more affordable subscription option for users who mainly want an ad-free experience, but users feel that this plan is of no use for them.

The price is Rs 89 per month, and it allows ad-free viewing for most long-form videos (like gaming, fashion, beauty, and news). It also works across devices—phones, laptops, and smart TVs.

But the users will have no access to YouTube Music, and they will not be allowed to play songs or videos via background play or offline downloads.

On top of that, the ads will still appear on YouTube Shorts, music content, and during search/browsing.

That’s why many YouTube users feel that the new Premium Lite option just doesn’t work for them.

Little Hearts Sequel Locked

0

Debutant Sai Marthand’s directorial Little Hearts was released a few weeks ago and became a huge blockbuster at the box office. Nowadays, big films often follow the franchise formula, and now the small film Little Hearts also joins the league as its sequel is locked.

As said above, the youthful entertainer was a massive blockbuster at the box office. The movie’s extended version will be streaming from 1st October on ETV Win. Till now, the makers have not announced the sequel for the movie.

Blockbuster Little Hearts will have a Sequel

But the buzz is that in the OTT release, the team has added extended footage with a sequel announcement for Sai Marthand’s Little Hearts.

Certainly, the audiences will be eagerly waiting for the sequel, as they loved the film’s hilarious scenes/characters and songs as well.
