L2: Empuraan starring Mohanlal is gearing up for release on 27th March worldwide. The film is carrying great hype and buzz and also became the pride of Mollywood. Fans and Audiences have been pouring in their great love and admiration already in the form of pre-bookings for the film. The budget, business and censor details are given below:

L2: Empuraan has been censored with a U/A certificate with a runtime of 179 minutes and 52 seconds, i.e., 2 hours 59 minutes and 52 seconds. The budget of the film is reported to be more than 150 crores excluding the remunerations of Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The duo is said to be involved only in profit sharing. Lyca Productions and Ashirvad Cinemas initially acted as the Producers of the film. But Lyca opted out out due to some issues and Gokulam Movies came on board. Gokulam Movies also became the reason for the film to release on the fixed date.

L2: Empuraan business is valued at 100 crores approximately where 30 crores are from overseas markets and the rest 70 crores from India. This is the highest-ever pre-release business for a Mollywood film till now. The team is still in the negotiations for the non-theatrical rights as it is quoting high prices which is also the reason for the delay. But after looking at the craze of bookings, now OTT platforms are also greatly interested in buying the film for higher prices.

Advance Bookings of L2: Empuraan is a stunner and the team also admitted this saying that the bookings are beyond their expectations. In Overseas market, Mollywood’s biggest opener collected only $1.6 Million whereas, L2: Empuraan had already crossed the $2 Million mark in the pre-sales itself. The film has also created a record for the opening day in the pre-sales in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu five days ahead of its release. The film is expected to open with 50 crores gross. Everyone is very confident of the film that it will become the first 300 crore grosser for Mollywood.

Plot:

We begin our story where after the prequel ends with our hero, Stephen, having successfully helped his half-brother, Jatin, become head of state and in so doing, honour his family core values. Now, in this 2nd instalment, with the elections around the corner, Jatin is making decisions behind the political scene as well as his stepbrother Stephen.
