Lucky Bhaskar: Low Hype, Good reports

0

Despite its promising combination of talents, including director Venky Atluri, known for the recent success of Sir, and Dulquer Salmaan, who gained acclaim with Sita Ramam, Lucky Bhaskar has surprisingly struggled to generate strong pre-release excitement among audiences. Promotional material, including trailers and songs, has not significantly impacted viewers, leading to slower-than-expected advance bookings and internal business figures.

However, the team behind Lucky Bhaskar remains optimistic. Positive reports within industry circles have fueled confidence in the film’s content, and the team is planning an extensive round of premiere screenings on Wednesday night across various locations in the Telugu-speaking regions. Given the mixed reception to promotional efforts, strong word-of-mouth from these early screenings will be crucial in building momentum.

Set to release in multiple languages, Lucky Bhaskar has been rated U/A, with a runtime of around 150 minutes. The film centers on a cash-strapped bank cashier who, in a desperate attempt to improve his finances, becomes entangled in the high-stakes world of money laundering. This unique storyline promises to deliver suspense and drama as the protagonist navigates the complexities of illegal finance.

With positive early reviews, Lucky Bhaskar could overcome initial setbacks and establish itself as a success. All eyes are now on the premiere screenings, as favorable word-of-mouth could be the boost needed to attract a wider audience.

No Pre-Release Events in Hyderabad

0

The Telangana government has imposed Section 144 in Hyderabad and Secunderabad, effective from October 27, 2024, for a period of one month. This directive prohibits gatherings of five or more people, including processions, rallies, public meetings, and protests. The move aims to maintain public order in these regions.

With Section 144 in place, several high-profile film events initially scheduled in Hyderabad are now being shifted to Andhra Pradesh. Numerous pre-release events for upcoming films in November and December will be impacted. Major productions like Matka and Mechanic Rocky, as well as various small-budget films, are all exploring alternative venues.

A particularly notable event affected by this order is the much-anticipated pre-release celebration of Pushpa 2. Initially planned for Hyderabad, this high-profile event will now take place in Andhra Pradesh, following in the footsteps of other major Telugu film events that have adapted to the restrictions.

While fans in Hyderabad may be disappointed by this temporary shift, Andhra Pradesh is gearing up to host the stars and fans of Tollywood’s biggest releases. Industry insiders believe the alternate locations may bring fresh excitement to these events. Once the order is lifted, Hyderabad is likely to resume its role as a key event destination, but for now, the industry’s attention has pivoted southward, adding to Andhra Pradesh’s growing prominence in Telugu cinema’s event scene.

High Court Orders: No Police Action on Allu Arjun

0

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has reserved its judgment for November 6 on a petition from actor Allu Arjun and former MLA Ravichandra  Reddy, seeking to quash an FIR alleging a violation of the election code. The case was heard by Justice V.R.K. Krupa Sagar on Friday, with the court directing police to refrain from any actions against the actor and politician until the verdict is announced.

The petitioners’ counsel, Y. Nagireddy, argued that Allu Arjun’s visit to Reddy’s residence in Nandyal on May 11 was purely personal, meant to congratulate Reddy on his election candidacy. The case arose due to a large crowd gathering at Reddy’s house during the visit, which allegedly breached Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, prohibiting public gatherings at the time.

The assistant public prosecutor representing the police stated that a chargesheet has already been filed, with further court proceedings pending. Both sides presented their cases, with the petitioners emphasizing the personal nature of the visit, while the police cited concerns about public gatherings.

The court, considering the arguments from both parties, concluded the hearing and set the final judgment date, giving Allu Arjun and Reddy temporary relief from legal proceedings until then. On the work front, the iconic star is busy with his upcoming project Pushpa: The Rule.
