Naga Shourya is returning to the screens with his latest release Varudu Kaavalenu after a gap of more than a year. His last film Ashwathama was an experimental thriller and failed to create the desired impact. This time he is returning with his safe zone- a romantic entertainer. Co-starring with Ritu Varma, the film has created a positive vibe before release with its music and fresh star cast. Has the debutant director Lakshmi Sowjanya managed to engage the viewers? let’s find out.

Story: The basic premise of the story is about two youngsters who are poles apart in their character, ambitions, and lifestyle. How they meet each other and how the relationship fledges forms the crux of the plot. Akash( Naga Shourya) is an architect who moves to India and looks to impress Bhoomi (Ritu Varma), a fierce and independent woman averse to the concept of a traditional wedding. How Akash faces these obstacles and marches towards his love is what the movie follows.

Performance: Naga Shourya has given a mature and perhaps the best performance of his career. He looks fit and sharp in the formals and as a young architect, his look is on point. Ritu Verma’s characterization is one of the movie’s highlights and is well written. Lakshmi Sowjanya has done a great job in taking great care of ensuring Bhoomi’s character comes across as a strong woman and not as a stubborn one. Murali Sharma and Nadhiya have done a good job as Bhoomi’s parents and have some great dialogues and moments in the movie. Vishal Chandrashekhar’s music and Vamsi Patchipulusu’s visuals are to be appreciated as they elevate the movie to great heights. Despite these many highs, it is the dull second half that brings down the movie’s tempo and what was supposed to be a great concept starts testing your patience.

Analysis: One of the biggest problems with the movie is the lag in the screenplay. The second half starts picking the movie’s tempo apart one by one and by the time the movie ends, even a runtime of 2 hours and 15 minutes seems too long. The movie starts losing the emotional connect and that usually is bad news in this genre. Apart from the dialogues, the other writing part lets the movie down and limits the movie’s potential. Vennela Kishore and Sapthagiri’s comedy have their moments but the overall impact is missed

Verdict: Varudu Kaavalenu shows great potential right from the word go. The effort put in by Naga Shourya in terms of his looks and fitness is quite evident and it must be appreciated. Ritu Varma eases in Bhoomi’s character and gives a good performance. However, the movie could have provided a better experience had the writers tried to focus on the couple’s emotional connection more than the misplaced fights and cliched scenes. Overall it’s a decent watch for the festive season could be your pick if visuals and grand sets are your cup of tea.

Netizens Talk : DSP failed to impress

Pushpa’s third single ‘Saami Saami’ dropped in yesterday and has evoked mixed reactions. The song still is the better of the earlier two singles released so far. However, the netizens’ response to the music released so far has been quite underwhelming which is not the norm for a DSP and Allu Arjun album.

The duo has always given chartbuster albums and this time it needs some serious ramp-up through the remaining songs to save the album. Reportedly, Allu Arjun took extra care of the songs and has been quite particular about the output. Despite his constant efforts, the album’s response has been cold.

The first two singles from Pushpa ‘Srivalli’ and ‘Daakko Daakko Meka’ have not exactly created a rampage that we expected. These songs failed to reach the masses the way Ala Vaikunthapurramlo songs did.

Now all eyes are set on the upcoming mas number. The duo of Allu Arjun and DSP have given some sensational mass numbers starting from Arya back in 2004. Let’s hope this number becomes the chartbuster as expected.

Tamannah given legal notice of Rs 5 cr by Masterchef makers

The legal tussle between Tamannah and Masterchef Telugu makers is getting murkier. Days after Tamannah filed a legal notice against the show makers, the show makers have now responded with a legal notice o a whopping Rs 5 crores for causing multiple delays and losses.

A statement issued by the maker’s- Innovative Film Academy said,” IFA has paid Tamannaah a total amount of Rs 1.56 Crores for sixteen days of the shoot that are done. The full shoot schedule was supposed to be completed between June 24th and September but it is still not finished, owing to her other commitments. Due to the enormous delay by the artist, this has resulted in a loss of more than Rs 5 crores for the production house towards a huge standing cost of 300+ crew. The balance amount of Rs 50 lakhs was supposed to be released, as per the agreement, after the completion of the two days of shoot for the finale which is still not shot.“

Tamannah’s lawyers had earlier sent a legal notice earlier to IFA saying she was taking this step due to the non-payment of dues on MasterChef Telugu and unprofessional conduct by the production house Innovative Film Academy.

Samantha fans were in for a surprise when it was reported that she deleted her wedding pictures with Naga Chaitanya from social media. The actress has only deleted the wedding ceremony pictures keeping the other group pictures with the Akkineni family as they were.

Samantha and Naga Chaitanya announced their split a few days back on social media. In their joint statement announcing their separation, Samantha revealed that she would always cherish their decade-long friendship, which was the core of their relationship.

Hence, photos of Naga Chaitanya with their common friends and family photos from Rana Daggubati and Miheeka’s wedding haven’t been deleted yet.

Pushpa’s groovy third single ‘Saami Saami’ is out

Icon Star Allu Arjun’s Pushpa’s third single Saami Saami is out. The groovy number is set amidst a scenic backdrop and features Rashmika Mandanna and Allu Arjun. The song is choreographed by Sekhar master and has some cool moves fused in it.

The earlier released singles ‘Daakko Daakko Meka’ and ‘Srivalli’ failed to create the expected impact. ‘Saami Saami’ is a massy number and has all the ingredients of a chartbuster. Devi Sri Prasad- Sukumar and Allu Arjun combination rarely disappoints. It looks like DSP has made up for the lackluster first two singles with a solid third number.

The Annaatthe trailer has given the fans of Superstar Rajinikanth what they have been longing for quite some time. The movie has shades of Rajini’s 90’s blockbusters Arunachalam, Muthu among others and director Siva has looked to explore the vintage Rajini to the max.

Icon Star Allu Arjun graced the pre-release event of Varudu Kaavalenu as the chief guest. Speaking the event, Allu Arjun was all praise for the movie and the recent Tollywood theatrical releases. He applauded these films for opening up the market in these tough times.

“If we look at the national level, Bollywood is coming up with a big-budget film Suryavanshi, I wish the fill the very best and hope that it brings the audience back to the theatres in a safe way and opens the Bollywood market big time,” said the Icon Star.

This statement from Allu Arjun was met with gratitude from Suryavanshi director Rohit Shetty and producer Karan Johar. The duo took to social media and thanked the actor for his proactive support.

Gully Rowdy to stream on OTT from Diwali

Sundeep Kishan starrer Gully Rowdy is all set to make its digital premiere next week. The film which also stars Neha Shetty in the lead role will be streaming on Disney +Hotstar from 4th November.
