Naveen Polishetty Roped In For Anushka Shetty Starrer

UV Creations had recently announced a movie with Anushka Shetty, which sent fans into a frenzy. Anushka Shetty is Telugu cinema’s most celebrated actress. She has acted in 47 movies so far and has many awards to her name.

Anushka is the only actress to have pulled audiences to theatres without any hero. She did this in Arundathi in 2009, and ten years later with Bhaagamathie. Both the movies have been blockbusters at the box office, collecting 60+ crores. She is also the only actress whose solo movie has collected $1M in the USA.

On the occasion of Naveen Polishetty’s birthday, UV Creations announced that he would feature alongside Anushka Shetty. Mahesh Babu P is the director of the movie.

Naveen Polishetty has been on fire and has won audiences over in a very short period of time. First with the thriller Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya, and then the highly entertaining comedy Jathi Ratnalu. Both the movies were commercially successful as well.

It will be interesting to see how this fresh combination of Naveen Polishetty and Anushka Shetty turns out. Sources say that this movie will be a new-age romantic comedy, but there is no confirmation yet. The movie will go on floors very soon.

Samantha And Varun Dhawan In Raj And DK’s Citadel

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan have reportedly been roped in to star in the Indian spinoff of the US-based show Citadel.

Citadel is a spy thriller series directed by the Russo brothers- Joe and Anthony Russo. The duo has directed some of the biggest blockbusters in Hollywood. Avengers-Infinity War, Avengers-Endgame are the most popular ones.

The duo has always shown a keen interest towards India. Their previous film Extraction was also a story about the extraction of a kidnapped Indian boy.

They have now planned for a spinoff of their series-Citadel. Citadel stars Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas and will premiere soon on Amazon Prime.

Raj and DK are helming the Indian version of Citadel, and have reportedly roped in Samantha and Varun Dhawan to play the main leads. Samantha has previously worked with Raj and DK in the second season of their hit series Family Man. She impressed everyone with her raw performance.

Samantha is growing bigger and bigger every day. She has also signed an international project titled “Arrangements of Love”.

The spinoff series will go on floors in early 2022 if everything goes to plan. This is also an opportunity for Varun Dhawan to prove his acting skills.

RRR Hyderabad pre-release event is now cancelled

SS Rajamouli’s RRR is now facing one obstacle after another. According to reports, the much-awaited pre-release event of the film slated to be held in Hyderabad on the 30th of this month is cancelled. Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam has shattered the previous trailer records with a mind-boggling 23.2M views in 24 hours for the trailer.

The film amassed 23M+ views, beating the previous record of 21.8M views held by Bahubali 2- The Conclusion. It is even more amusing that Prabhas himself has beaten his previous record.

Radhe Shyam’s trailer has also surpassed Bahubali 2 in the most likes in 24 hours, at 593K likes. However, SS Rajamouli’s RRR holds the record for the most-liked trailer in 24 hours at 1.2M+ likes, followed by Vakeel Saab and Pushpa.

RRR falls just behind Radhe Shyam and Bahubali in terms of the most-viewed trailer in 24 hours.

The Hindi version of the trailer has collected 28M+ views in just 24 hours but this is largely due to Tseries releasing the trailer. Tseries being the world’s most subscribed channel has definitely boosted the views. But credit has to be given to Prabhas for pulling such records. Chiranjeevi recently expressed his thank you to Telangana chief minister Shri KCR for revising the atrocious ticket prices in the state of Telangana.

Previously, the ticket rates in Telangana varied based on the location of theatres. This meant that theatres were forced to keep the prices as low as 20 rupees-50 rupees per ticket in some places. This inevitably caused a lot of loss for theatre owners.

In recent fantastic news, the Telangana government led by KCR has agreed to the requests of various filmmakers. They have imposed new conditions favoring films.

Situation gets worse for Tollywood as V Epiq Nellore- India’s largest screen shuts down

The terrible state of theatres in AP continues as V Epiq Nellore- India’s largest screen and third largest screen in the world shut its doors. The theatre management stated that the government forced ticket prices have made it impossible for them to continue their operations.

The theatre opened amidst great fanfare in 2019 and featured state-of-the-art sound and projection facilities.

The theatre management claimed that the mandated ticket prices of Rs 30/- onwards have made it impossible to even pay the electricity bills. V Epic cinemas now joins a list of theatres in AP to voluntarily shut their operations due to impossible pricing slabs imposed by the government.

With a number of Tollywood biggies set to release in the coming days, producers are spending sleepless nights. The distributors and exhibitors are now under a new fear of theatre closures. Surprise inspections are being conducted across the state. Three theatres were shut down in Vizianagaram last week while Krishna district Joint Collector seized 15 theaters in the district for trivial reasons.

If this situation continues, the trade circles and the industry will surely collapse and the theatres will have to see a permanent shutdown. What’s really worrying is that lives of so many are being put on line to cater to the ego of one individual
