Nagarjuna’s Bangarraju was released on 14th January on the occasion of Sankranthi and opened to decent collections at the box office. It is the sequel to the Sankranthi 2016 blockbuster Soggade Chinni Nayana. Bangarraju is a supernatural romantic family entertainer that will see Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya in important roles.

Here’s the Day 4 Box Office status of Bangarraju:

Bangarrju has stayed super strong in Andhra Pradesh on day 4. After a tremendous performance on the weekends, Bangarraju has continued to stay strong in AP. The film has also been highly favored by no occupancy restrictions and no night curfews.

However, the film has dropped in Nizam by a whopping 70 % from day 3 and will find it very hard to break even in Nizam. It has also shown a drop of 50% in Ceeded.

The real test starts from today with restrictions imposed, but still, Bangarraju has made a majority of its money already.

The film also stars Naga Chaitanya, Ramya Krishna, and Krithi Shetty in prominent roles. Kalyan Krishna Kurasala is the director of the movie. ZEE5 and Annapurna Studios have co-produced the film. Anup Rubens is the music director of the film.

Liger is a pan-India project and will release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

In a recent interview of the Tamil directors roundtable with Film Companion South, Sudha Kongara talked about her fight with Venkatesh during the shoot of Guru. Sudha Kongara and Venkatesh share a great bond with each other, Sudha wanted only Venky for Guru, as he was perfect for the role, but they also had their fights on the sets of Guru.

This came in response to a question from the host, Baradwaj Rangan who asked her why there are very few women directors in the Tamil film industry. This is what Sudha had to say in response to the question:

“There are a lot of reasons for this, physical reasons, marriage, mental and physical changes in the body, emotional reasons. It has always been a male-dominated, patriarchal society.”

“In fact, I always fight with Venkatesh over this matter, Venkatesh keeps telling me that my husband is great for letting me make films, then I tell him why should he allow me? I’m balancing both my personal as well as professional life, it hasn’t been easy. I have worked hard.”

We all know Sudha Kongara as the successful director of Soorarai Pootru and Guru, but what we don’t know is her struggle to reach this position. Sudha has worked her way to the top, from assisting Mani Ratnam in 2000 to making her own films. It has taken her 20+ years to establish herself in the industry.

There have been reports of trouble in the marriage of Chiranjeevi’s daughter Sreeja and Kalyan Dhev. Over the past few weeks, many reports have emerged that the couple is at constant loggerheads and that all is not well. Night Curfew And 50% Occupancy From Tomorrow In AP

The government on AP has announced that there will be a night curfew and only 50 % occupancy in theatres from tomorrow, that is 18th January. This decision has come in view of the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases in India. Just yesterday 4500 positive cases have been reported.

The government of AP lifted the night curfew and 50 % occupancy during the Sankranthi festival and will impose restrictions from tomorrow.

From tomorrow most of the theatres are scheduling their shows at 11 AM, 2 PM, 5 PM, and 8 PM to finish shows by 11 PM. Anyone who violates this will face strict action from the government. 50 % occupancy is also to be maintained strictly.

There are quite a few films running in theatres currently. Bangarraju has managed to collect a major portion of its money back in the weekend. It has performed extraordinarily well at the box office. Films like Hero and Rowdy Boys will however find it tough to recover their money back.

Hero has however generated a good reason from the public and might just do well. Rowdy Boys on the other hand opened to very poor collections and has generated disaster talks from the public.

Bangarraju: Bangarraju has performed extraordinarily well in Andhra Pradesh on the weekend, but showed okayish collections in Nizam. However, the collections overseas have been the worst. It has reported very poor collections overseas.

Here is the breakdown of Bangarraju’s worldwide collections.

Rowdy Boys: After a disastrous opening day, the film picked up its collections on day 2 and day 3. The day 2 and day 3 collections have been more than the first-day collections due to the weekend advantage. But, all is not merry as even the improvement in collections will not be enough to achieve breakeven. The negative talk generated has proved to be disastrous for the film.

The collections have been average in AP, poor in Telangana, and outright disastrous overseas.

Super Machi: Super Machi showed a drop in collections on the opening day itself, with noon shows being canceled due to no audience turnout. The film has performed poorly due to the lack of promotions. The film stars Mega hero Kalyaan Dhev, Rachita Ram, and Rhea Chakroborty in lead roles.

Hero: Despite receiving a decent response from audiences, Hero has collected poor shares at the box office on the weekend. Despite the heavy promotion the film has failed at the box office. The film stars Mahesh Babu’s nephew Ashok Galla, Niddhi Agerwal, and Jagapathi Babu in prominent roles.

In conclusion to the weekend Box office report, Bangarraju is the only hit film for Sankranthi 2022.
