Ram Gopal Varma, fondly referred to as RGV is no stranger to bold tweets about Allu Arjun and the Mega Family. RGV doesn’t give a damn about what people have to say about him or his opinions. Hate him or love him, he attracts attention like no other person in the Telugu film industry.

His new tweet is nothing short of attention-attracting, RGV tweeted this about Allu Arjun. “The hard but indisputable fact is that ALLU is the new MEGA.”

While the tweet has received a lot of likes, netizens are visibly upset over the comparison to the Megastar, the forefather of the current generation of Tollywood stars.

Allu Arjun himself has always spoken about how he wouldn’t be in the position he is in without the support of Megastar Chiranjeevi. Allu Arjun would not appreciate this tweet from RGV either.

RGV has always had a special spot for Allu Arjun. He has tweeted praises about Allu Arjun several times before this. He has also showered praises on the actor for choosing a rugged role like Pushpa. RGV has often commended Allu Arjun him for his Pan-Indian reach.

Nani’ Dasara to feature him in unique negative shades

Nani’s Dasara is all set to present another makeover of the Natural Star. After sporting a clean-shaven traditional mustached look in Shyam Singha Roy, he will be seen with a heavy beard next. The actor will be seen in a negative shade in his upcoming action thriller.

Debutant Srikanth Odela will direct Nani’s Dasara. Sudhakar Cherukuri will produce the action thriller under Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas.

Keerthy Suresh will play the leading lady opposite Nani, which marks their reunion after Nenu Local. The film also has Samuthirakani, Sai Kumar, Zarina Wahab, and others in key roles.

The film’s first look was released last year and created enough curiosity. Titled ‘Siren of Dasara’, the glimpse had the Natural Star’s intense voice-over in the Telangana dialect. This will be the first time the actor will be seen in a rural Telangana backdrop and role.

The film is set amid a coal mine backdrop, is slated to be the highest budgeted project in his career, and it would be made on a grand scale.

Nani’s Dasara is billed to be an action thriller and will feature him in a totally unique character. Further details about the project will be shared by the makers very soon.

Ravi Teja’s massive fee for Bobby-Megastar film

Ravi Teja’s presence in the upcoming Bobby-Megastar project has heightened the expectations to no end. Chiranjeevi will be playing an out-and-out mass character in this film and Ravi Teja reportedly will be playing a key 40-minute long role in the project.

Ravi Teja earlier acted alongside Megastar Chiranjeevi in the 2000 film Annayya and had a small cameo in Shankar Dada Zindabad. A special poster of Bobby-Megastar project was released last year. Ravi Teja, meanwhile is charging a whopping Rs 25 lakhs per day for this project.

The ‘Mass Maharaja’ earlier collaborated with Bobby on the latter’s directorial debut ‘Power’. Both Ravi Teja and Chiranjeevi are currently awaiting the release of their upcoming projects ‘Khiladi’ and ‘Acharya’.

Ravi Teja will be seen in a dual role in Khiladi. The movie is produced jointly by Satyanarayana Koneru and Ramesh Varma under the banner of A Studios LLP. It stars Dimple Hayathi, Unni Mukundan, Arjun Sarja and Meenakshi Chaudhary in key roles.

Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi’s Acharya has now been postponed. This Mega multi-starrer was scheduled to release on 4th February. However, due to the rising Covid cases and theatres shutting down across the country, the makers have now pushed the film to April 1st.

Devi Sri Prasad, fondly called DSP was one of the most popular music directors of the Telugu film industry at one point. DSP and chartbusters were synonymous with each other. The Telugu audiences absolutely loved DSP’s music. But now, things seemed to have changed drastically from those good old years.

DSP is no longer producing chartbusters like he used to. Now, before we talk about this. It is important to mention that we are not talking about the views that songs get but the reception that the song gets from Telugu audiences.

The songs from Pushpa-The Rise were hyped to a great extent, but the Telugu audiences failed to connect to the songs. Except for Srivalli and Oo Antava, no other song generated any interest among the audiences. Even the background scores in the film have been dismissed.

But this is not the case in other industries. The Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and especially Hindi audiences have thoroughly enjoyed DSP’s music in Pushpa-The Rise. Even the background music has been greatly loved by the Hindi audiences.

This begs the question as to whether our taste has just grown over the years or is there a lack of good music in Bollywood. Either way, we only wish to see vintage DSP back in form again. DSP is also making his way to Bollywood with the Ranveer Singh starrer Cirkus. Rohit Shetty is the director of the film.

Prabhas is undoubtedly India’s biggest actor at the moment. He has shot multiple big-budget high concept films in the last 2 years, one among them is Salaar. From the first look posters of the film, Salaar promises a rugged and raw form of Prabhas. Director Prashant Neel has said many times that the story has been written specifically for Prabhas.

Salaar is a high-octane action entertainer that will be along the lines of KGF. We can expect the action sequences to be the highlight of the film because we have seen this in KGF as well. Prashant Neel has allocated the majority of the budget to the action sequences in the film. In fact, a whopping 20 crores have been spent on just one action scene in the film.

Prabhas fans and the general Telugu audience have missed this mass rugged look of Prabhas. The last time Prabhas was in a rugged look like this is probably in Chatrapati. The budget also has been allocated smartly, the movie has been shot on a budget of 150-200 crores, if executed well the movie will do phenomenal business. Breakeven will be achieved just by Prabhas’ image, anything on top of that will be due to the content in the movie.

Apart from Prabhas, Salaar also stars Shruthi Haasan and Jagapathi Babu in prominent rules. Hombale Films has produced the film. Ravi Basrur is the music director of the film. It is scheduled to release in April 2022, if COVID-19 doesn’t play spoilsport.

Three huge stars are next in line for Bollywood after Allu Arjun’s entry. After the massive success of Pushpa-The Rise in the Northern parts of India, the makers of Ala Vaikunthapurram Loo are keen to cash in on Allu Arjun’s fame. Goldmines Telefilms owns the official Hindi dubbing rights of the film and is planning to release the film on 26th January in theatres.

This has turned out to be a very controversial decision due to many reasons. But, leaving that aside, three huge South Indian stars have also stepped up in line to release the Hindi dubbed version of their films.

Ram Charan’s blockbuster Rangasthalam’s Hindi dubbed version will also release in theatres. The makers have done this to cash in on the craze around Ram Charan due to RRR.

Thalapathy Vijay’s Mersal will also have a Hindi dubbed release to exploit the North markets. In addition to that, another Tamil megastar Ajith is also in line with Viswasam.

This is both good and bad. The good aspect is that our South Indian stars are finally getting the Pan-India exposure they deserve. But, things could easily turn murky. This could create a dangerous trend of releasing dubbed films whenever needed, which could impact the small-scale films released in theatres.

Controversy Over Nagarjuna’s Bangarraju Collections

Bangarraju was released on the occasion of Sankranthi and opened to tremendous weekend collections in Andhra Pradesh. But now, controversy has arisen over the collections of Bangarraju.

Vintage and Ishana, the two biggest distributors in East Godavari have bought the theatrical rights of the film. The problem is that Vintage and Ishana are both showing different collection numbers for Bangarrju.

One distributor circle has announced high numbers by adding GST and other factors. Whereas, the other distributor has announced low numbers. This has led to a lot of controversy regarding the collections in East Godavari.

The reason for projecting low numbers is simple. The distributor does not want to pay overflows to the producers of the film. Now, after all of this, both Vintage and Ishana have kept silent over the official collections as they don’t want to reveal numbers now.

The producers will soon have a meeting with these distributors to clarify the controversy regarding Bangarraju’s collections. Coming to the collections in East Godavari, according to our sources, Bangarraju has collected a share of 2.75 crores in 3 days.

The film also stars Naga Chaitanya, Ramya Krishna, and Krithi Shetty among others. Kalyan Krishna Kurasala is the director of the movie. Annapurna Studios and ZEE studios have co-produced the film. Anup Rubens is the music director of the movie.

Fresh trouble over Alluri Seetarama Raju for RRR makers

The Alluri Seetarama Raju Yuvajana Sangham has filed a PIL against SS Rajamouli and RRR makers for distorting the history. The group alleges that the ace director is trying to tarnish the image of the great revolutionary.

Alluri Yuvajana Sangham president Padala Veerabhadra Rao alleged that Rajamouli has changed history as per his convenience. “Alluri Seetarama Raju and Komaram Bheem never met. He fought against Britishers by leading the tribals while Komaram Bheem took on the Nizam rulers for the tribal populace.”

He further said Alluri never worked as a police officer under Britishers. But the movie shows he was a police officer before becoming revolutionary. “Director Rajamouli degraded the revolutionary fighter’s image by filming a dance
performance in front of British women. My father researched Alluri’s freedom struggle and later I continued it. We found many facts about Alluri and we have recorded evidence. However, the movie ‘RRR’ is tarnishing the image of Telugu people and Alluri.”

Interestingly, Rajamouli has already mentioned this fact a number of times that this film is a work of fiction and not a record of actual events. “The story was woven from a thought on how the events would transpire of Alluri Seetarama Raju and Komaram Bheem ever met,”.

Already a similar PIL has been filed from the community and descendants of Komaram Bheem as well.

There is a strong buzz among Tollywood circles that a new actress has been confirmed for Nagarjuna’s action thriller Ghost. Kajal Aggarwal was originally confirmed to play the lead opposite Nagarjuna but due to her pregnancy, she was forced to leave the project.

Ever since then, the makers of Ghost have been searching for a new actress for their film. There were rumors about Amala Paul and Jacqueline Fernandez being involved after Kajal’s exit. But those rumors were shut down very quickly.

Now there is a strong buzz that Sonal Chauhan has been confirmed as the female lead opposite Nagarjuna in Ghost. Sonal Chauhan has previously been seen in Telugu movies like Pandaga Chesko and Legend.

The first look of Ghost promises Nagarjuna in an intense avatar, where he sports a bloody sword.

Praveen Sattaru, who has previously shown his directing skills in PSV Garuda Vega is also the director of Ghost.
