Prabhas rethinking about film with Maruthi

Radhe Shyam starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde released on March 11 yesterday in all Indian languages. The film has managed to get a mixed talk. This is his third Pan-Indian film after Blockbuster Baahubali and Action entertainer Sahoo. The film managed to collect around 63 crores share in Telugu Version. The overall theatrical business of this romantic drama is valued at Rs 140Cr. With these numbers its a herculean task for the film to cross the breakeven mark in Telugu Version alone.

Other languages business is very bad. Weekend has been disastrous in all other languages. In Tamil Nadu, the 1st-weekend gross is around Rs 1.5Cr, Kerala with 35 lakhs. Hindi market which was mainly targeted by the makers seems to be also completely disappointing. People who became fans of Prabhas for his action films didn’t like the love story angle of him. Hindi gross is expected to be around 15 crs which is very low for his popularity.

Prabhas who recently okayed a film with Maruthi speculated as Raja Deluxe seems to be re thinking about his decision of working with him. The film which has been planned a quickie has a comedy backdrop. This is also being planned as a Pan-Indian film. Now with the response Radhe Shyam is getting, it looks Prabhas has gone back from his idea of doing this film.

Allu Arjun is one of the most popular actors not just in Tollywood but in other industries as well. Especially after Pushpa, a number of directors and actors from various industries have appreciated his work giving rise to multiple interesting combinations. These rumours got further strong with Allu Arjun’s meeting earlier today with ace Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

The ‘Icon Star’ was in Mumbai for a personal trip when he paid a visit to the director’s office. The meteoric rise of his stardom in the north market has made the actor even more confident of Bollywood entry.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is fresh from the success of his latest film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ starring Alia Bhatt. The film crossed Rs 100 crore mark recently and both Alia and Sanjay were well apprciated. Even Allu Arjun has been harbouring Bollywood aspirations for quite some time. He has stated in past that he is willing to make a direct Bollywood film if the script is right.

If this meeting actually bears any result, it will be a huge boost for the Icon Star and his future plans. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has given Bollywood a star like Ranbir Kapoor and also pushed the career of Ranveer Singh to stardom. Known for big budget historical/period dramas, Bhansali and Allu Arjun does sound like an interesting combo.

Suriya’s recent film ET locks it’s OTT release date

Suriya’s Etharkkum Thunindhavan stylized as ET released on March 11. This film is directed by Pandiraj who earlier had hits with Namma Veettu Pillai and Kadaikutty Singam, released as Chinababu in Telugu. Suriya had high hopes on this film as this marks comeback of Suriya film to theatres after his recent 2 films, Soorarai Pottru, released as Akasam nee hadduraa and Jai Bhim’s released on OTT. However, the film has achieved negative talk and the opening figures of the film are not good even.

But after a low opening day, ET had a decent Day 2 at the box office. Day 3 too was excellent and more than Day 1 in many centres. The Advance bookings are even excellent for Day 4 which is Sunday. Finally, this has been an excellent weekend for Suriya after a long time. The film’s run will now be decided by the weekdays and the coming weekend. ET which is already running in theatres locked its OTT release date.

ET will stream on both Sun Nxt and Netflix from 1st April almost after 3 weeks of its release. The film’s production house Sun Productions’ own OTT is Sun Nxt. Apart from Sun Nxt, the film is also about to stream on Netflix.

Radhe Shyam has managed to collect around 63 crores share in Telugu Version against the theatrical business of 140 crs. It even performed poorly in all the other Indian languages. Hindi market which was mainly targeted by the Radhe Shyam makers seems to be also completely disappointing

All these seem to be haunting the makers of RRR and its director Rajamouli. They might have arrived at a conclusion that with the existing prices it might become a big task for RRR to become a big hit like Baahubali. A delegation of these celebrities had actually met AP CM Jagan once to increase the then-existing ticket prices. CM had agreed to their please and a G.O. was passed for the same too. But Radhe Shyam’s underperforming made RRR makers even scarier.

They have taken the appointment of AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy to meet him and ask for the same. They are now planning to ask for Rs. 300 ticket price for at least 10 days or for 2 weeks. Well, this seems to be a very big number. Let’s see how the government responds to their pleas.

Prabhas’ much anticipated Radhe Shyam hit the screens last Friday and got off to a good start. The film had a strong positive buzz and great pre-release business prior to its release. This led to massive hopes on the films with many expecting blockbuster openings from the film. The audience were eager to catch ‘Darling’ in a romantic role after more than a decade.

While Prabhas’ stardom got the movie off to a good start in the Telugu states, there weren’t many takers for the Hindi version right from day 1. The film saw steep drops over the weekend and Monday was no different in the north markets. The 1st weekend Hindi gross is astonishingly low and is in the range of Rs 15 Cr. This is not even 60% of Prabhas’ previous film Saaho opening day number.

After a decent weekend in Telugu states, Radhe Shyam dropped heavily on Monday. Looking at its current performance breakeven is not at all possible and even collecting Rs 100Cr share is a huge task for the film now. The romantic drama directed by Radha Krishna was well appreciated for its visuals. However, the screenplay and lack of gripping storytelling ended up as major drawbacks. A huge loss is expected for buyers and makers of the film.

Anand Mahindra says Prabhas’s Project K will beat Hollywood Hollow

Did you get any image on how big the scope of the movie Project K will be? Prabhas is the hero so it will be definitely big. Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachan are part of it so it will be bigger. Vyjayanthi movies is producing this Sci-if thriller with a budget around 500 crores so it will be grand. It is a pan India movie under the direction of Nag Ashwin under the supervision of legendary Singeetam Srinivasa Rao so it will be definitely huge. But Anand Mahindra, the chairman of Mahendra Group have a hunch that Project K is going to beat Hollywood hollow.

Nag Ashwin started his career with critically acclaimed yevade Subramanyam. And then he became a star director with Mahanati for which he received many awards and rewards. It is Nag Ashwin’s convincing detailing that made Mahanati a master piece in biopics. He then noted by audience as an unique director that has potential to deliver something new to Tollywood.

 

For his next outing Project K Nag Ashwin approached Anand Mahendra to build some vehicles for the film that are beyond the technology of today. Anand Mahendra agreed and arranged a team for Nag Ashwin and extended his support. Later after hearing interesting things about ProjectK, Anand Mahendra tweeted that he got excited about the project and it definitely had potential to beat hollywood hollow.

Bollywood flick “The Kashmir Files” initially  planned to release on the Republic Day of 2022 postponed due to Omicron spread. The film then released worldwide on 11th March,2022 in over 630 screens across India. Though the film opened with mixed reviews from the critics, general audience spread positive talk. As a result, the screens are increased to 2000 on 13th March. Such is the power of public’s word of mouth.

With Excellent WOM The Kashmir files doing extraordinary in Telugu states also especially in A Centers. More theatres and screens are being adding daily. In Hyderabad the shows for 4th day are higher than first day and even Sunday too. The film is being praised for the lead actors performances especially of Anupam Kher. And the main hero behind this success is its director Vivek Agnihotri. The director is being applauded for showing the facts related to Kashmiri pandits in a heart touching way. Roshann’s new movie under Vyjayanthi Movies banner announced

Roshann Meka son of well know actors Srikanth and Ooha is trying to create his own mark in Tollywood. Roshann made his debut in a lead role with Nirmala Convent in 2016. He won SIIMA award for best debutant male – Telugu for Nirmala Convent. He then came with Pelli SandaD in the direction Gowri Roananki and under the supervision of K. Raghavendra Rao. Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna cinemas announced on Roshann’s birthday about their production no 9. with Roshann under the direction of nation award winning director Pradeep Advaitham. The talented director won national award for his short film Advaitham in 2010. He tried his hands in feature films like Billa Ranga and Maine pyaar kiya in Telugu. Superstar Mahesh Babu to release Mishan Impossible theatrical trailer

Taapsee Pannu who made her debut in Tollywood with Raghavendra Rao’s Jhummandi Naadam in 2010 is eyeing to come back to Tollywood with her next movie. Started her career in Tollywood, the talented actress did movies in Kollywood and then moved to Bollywood. She created a mark for herself in Bollywood with very good script selection. Taapsee came to Telugu audience with some dubbing movies. But now she is coming with a straight Telugu film ‘Mishan Impossible’ under the direction of Swaroop RSJ.

Swaroop RSJ made his directorial debut with the super hit movie Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya. The young and talented director is now coming with a  thriller titled Mishan Impossible.

The movie is scheduled to release on 1st April. So the makers are now concentrating on promotions. As a part of it, Superstar Mahesh babu will launch the movie’s theatrical trailer tomorrow. Mahesh will always extend his support for promoting the films by releasing songs and launching trailers. So the makers approached superstar for trailer’s release. Mishan Impossible is produced by Niranjan Reddy and Anvesh Reddy under the banner of Matinee Entertainment. Music is composed by Mark K. Robin and Editing is handled by Ravi Teja Girijala.
