Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam 1st weekend Box office report

Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam opened last week to mixed reviews. But, Prabhas stardom helped the Telugu version to get off to a good start and a decent weekend in Telugu states. For the 1st weekend, Telugu share will be in the range of Rs63 crs. The overall theatrical business of this romantic drama is valued at Rs 140Cr. Considering the expectations and the pre-release business, these numbers are just ordinary and breakeven seems like a huge task ahead.

Coming to other areas, Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam had a disastrous weekend. In Tamil Nadu, the 1st-weekend gross is around Rs 1.5Cr and in Kerala, the figure is expected to be in the region of Rs 35 lakhs. The same continued for the Hindi regions as well. The makers were hoping of getting a great response from the Hindi but the audience didn’t receive the film as expected.

The 1st weekend Hindi gross is astonishingly low and is in the range of Rs 15 Cr. This is not even 60% of Prabhas’ previous film Saaho opening day number. Overall the movie had an okayish weekend in Telugu and a Disastrous weekend in other languages. Looking at the trend, a huge loss is expected for buyers and makers of Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam.

Having stardom is a boon. But sometimes that can bring tears too. And especially in Tollywood where heroes are treated as God , the unwanted damage is also associated with it. An unfortunate incident happened in Kurnool recently after the release of Radhe Shyam. Mutyala Raviteja, a die hard fan of Prabhas committed suicide.

24 year old Raviteja of Tilaknagar, Kurnool ended his life as he thought Radhe Shyam may not fare well at box office. Radhe Shyam released on 11th March and opened with mixed reviews. After watching the movie, Raviteja thought the movie is not good enough to become a hit. As he heard mixed reviews too he got disappointed and ended his life. He left is mother in pain who is raising him after the demise of his father.

Though the movie opened with mixed reviews, it is doing well at box office over weekend. Raviteja would have been happy if he didn’t take the decision on that day. Ending life for a movie is not at all fare. Though we are all obsessed with movies, we should not loose our senses. Life is more important than any other thing. All the die hard fans should know that no hero wants to hear such incidents.

Radhe Shyam director blaming audience & critics for negative response

Radhe Shyam starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde released on March 11 yesterday in all Indian languages. The film has managed to get a mixed talk. This is his next film after Blockbuster Bahubali and Action entertainer Sahoo. So the expectations are naturally high on this film. From the beginning the makers backed off from heavy promotions and released hardly any promos of the film. They tried hard to project this as a love story. But audience who had lots of expectations from Prabhas gave a negative feedback for the film citing it as a slow paced and only a love story film.

The same is being expressed by the director of Radhe Shyam, Radha Krishna Kumar. He recently talked about the negative feedback the film is getting. He criticized people and critics for expecting much from the film when it is promoted as a love story. He even opined that it is not good to expect biryani instead of a veg meal. He felt that they expected a film like Bahubali again from Prabhas even though they promoted it as a feel good love story.

The same was also expressed by Music director Thaman who did the background score for the film. During a success meet, he too felt disappointed about people and critics calling it a slow narrative film when it was a love story. On the other hand Radhe Shyam is running good on the weekend. It has to be seen how the film performs during the weekdays.

Thaman and Sitara to rock the second single of Sarkaru Vaari Paata

After the massive success of Sarkaru Vaari Paata’s first single Kalaavathi, fans are now eagerly waiting for the second single. This song is also expected to be an instant chartbuster given how confident Thaman and the makers are.

Kalaavathi had notched a whopping 16 million views in the first 24 hours and established a South India record. At the moment, Kalaavathi has recorded a whopping 83 million views.

The shoot of the second single was completed yesterday with Thaman and Mahesh Babu’s daughter Sitara. The unit is now waiting for the VFX team’s update before making an announcement for the second single. The makers are still keen on the 18th as the date for the release of the single and are hoping the works are finished on time.

Thaman had earlier shared an update regarding the second single from Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata. Thaman, who is in great form at the moment said that the “This One is gonna Be Solid single tooo”

This Mahesh Babu starrer is all set to release on May 12th. Keerthy Suresh will be seen opposite Mahesh Babu. Parasuram is directing this action entertainer while Mythri Movie Makers are bankrolling this much-awaited project.

Huge task ahead for RRR makers now !

Radhe Shyam starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde released on March 11 yesterday in all Indian languages. The film has managed to get a mixed talk.  The film has opened big on Day 1 and managed to collect 24cr+ in AP/TS and around 35 crs+ share worldwide for Telugu version. But Radhe Shyam has shocked entire Tollywood which is planning to make Pan-Indian films. The film has managed to collect around 6.5 crs gross on the opening day in the Hindi market which is not good. The film didn’t do well even in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada too. This is a huge shock to Prabhas.

Now all eyes are on RRR which is also projected as a Pan-Indian film after Radhe Shyam. RRR has been sold for a record price in other languages also. The film was at 42 cr around in Tamil Nadu including P &P the movie needs to collect 80+cr gross for breakeven. The makers are also releasing the film on their own in Hindi market and are expecting a minimum of 250 cr nett. To score these numbers makers have to do lot of promotions now to create a huge buzz among the audience. The film is about to release in two weeks. There is also an event in Dubai.

Bahubali which was released with no hype became a blockbuster because of it’s universal appeal and larger than life story. Not even Rajamouli or Prabhas expected such a craze or hit coming out of Bahubali. Wanting to repeat the same magic with each and every film of theirs is a mistake. Bahubali was based solely on the story and kingdom based concept. But expecting the same success for films like RRR and Radhe Shyam is not good. Let’s wait and see what happens.

Koratala Shiva is also to be the main reason for Mahesh Babu signing Sarkaru Vaari Paata with P. Parasuram. He is also giving inputs for the film. Let’s wait and see how these combos would go.
