An outright box office disaster for Prabhas after a decade!

Prabhas who once used to be a regional hero is riding high on the success of Bahubali and Sahoo. Both these films increased his popularity very much. Both these films made a 100cr revenue in Hindi Market alone. His recent released Radhe Shyam which was released amidst much hype has shown a different taste after successful ventures. Radhe Shyam disappointed him and his team who expected the film to be a nationwide sensation.

From Darling which was released in 2010, every film of Prabhas did well at the Box office till Sahoo. Both Rebel and Sahoo may not be box-office successes but these two films did extraordinary at the box-office considering the talk they got. Rebel collected a share close to 30 crs which is excellent. Sahoo’s Telugu Version has collected more than 100 cr share and Hindi revenue was more than 150cr nett.

But for the first time, after almost a decade Prabhas film failed to create an impact at the box office. Radhe Shyam has failed to create an impact in all the languages it releases which is even more shocking. The hype and Popularity Prabhas is now having will also be one of the reasons. Radhe Shyam is a pure love story that is not expected by the audience it seems.

Director Rajamouli yesterday met AP Cinematography Minister Perni Nani and appealed for the ticket price hike for his upcoming film RRR. RRR is being planned as a Pan-Indian film with a huge star cast of Jr.NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgan. The film is slated for a grand release on March 25. The whole team is expecting to create the magic of Bahubali with RRR again.

However, Rajamouli said that he was very well received by the AP CM Jagan and AP Cinematography Minister Perni Nani. He also said that the minister assured to do good for the big budgeted films. But there was no clear assurance which is interesting. Rajamouli and the team are hoping for Rs. 300 ticket price hike desperately. RRR which is projected as a Pan-Indian film needs to have big ticket price to get a big hit tag like baahubali. The same is expected from the team.

The comments coming from Minister without any assurance is a worry for Rajamouli and his team. They are as said expecting a special treatment considering the budget of the film according to them. The minister went on to say such big budget films will have special treatment but no official confirmation yet. So let’s wait and see how the government responds.

The expectations are very high on this film. However, there is an interesting update about Vijay’s Beast and its storyline.

There are a lot of rumours regarding the film. There are rumours that the film is made on a very low budget and shooting has also been completed quickly. The storyline of Beast is also doing rounds in Social Media which is going viral. The story is said to happen on a single night in a mall. It is a rescue operation with humour and action elements. It is also rumoured that all actors will be in a single costume. Well, all these seem very surprising and interesting.

Nelson, the director of Beast earlier too included the same comedy quotient in his recent outing Doctor starring Siva Karthikeyan which became his biggest blockbuster. Radhe Shyam starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde released on March 11 yesterday in all Indian languages. The film has managed to get a mixed talk. This film was directed by a new comer, Radha Krishna Kumar. However the director took lot of care as it’s his maiden big budget and star studded film. But the film didn’t meet the expectations of the audiences. The film is experiencing a disaster run at the box-office. But the director of Radhe Shyam seems to be living in a different world.

Accepting failure is very important for any person. For a film maker it is even more important to understand the reality of what had happened. Radhe Shyam as said failed to create an impact among the audience. But the director still believes that he made an epic love story. He is even blaming audience and critics for the negative reviews they are giving for the film.

The film being a love story is also one of the reasons why the film is not getting the expected run. A love story coming out of Prabhas after Bahubali and Sahoo is not accepted by the people. All there served as the reasons. Earlier, Thaman who composed Background Score too criticized netizens and critics who gave negative reviews for the film. The director is also believing the same. He has to come out of this think at least now and analyze the mistakes that were made.

Bollywood star actor Shahruh Khan to launch his own OTT platform

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Tuesday shred a picture in twitter featuring himself with “SRK+ coming soon”. He didn’t give much details about it but a hint. He quoted that “Kuch kuch hone wala hai, OTT ki duniya mein (Something is going to happen in the world of OTT).” His fans started speculating that it may be a collaboration with some OTT or Something like that. But in no time Salman Khan revealed the details.

Salman Kahn retweeted and wrote, “Aaj ki party teri taraf se (Today’s party is from you) @iamsrk. Congrats on your new OTT app, SRK+.” So the news is that the Bollywood superstar is all set to start his own OTT app. Adding to that Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap shared that he will be collaborating with Shah Rukh on his app. He tweeted, “Dream come true! Collaborating with @iamsrk on his new OTT app, SRK+.” Karan Johar wrote on Twitter, “Biggest news of the year! @iamsrk, this is going to change the face of OTT. Super excited!!!”

Shah Rukh through his production house presented series’s Bard of Blood and Betaal that are streaming on Netflix. Shah Rukh next movie Pathaan is scheduled to release on 25th January, 2023. Hope this year brings more success to the Bollywood superstar.

RRR USA Pre-sales has crossed the $1.5 million mark

Right after crossing the $1 million mark, RRR USA pre-sales have now hit the next milestone in no time. The movie has now crossed the $1.5 million pre-sales mark and is showcasing a steep rise in these numbers within a short span of time.

The buzz around the movie is at an all-time high and with just 10 days to go for the release, the countdown for the biggest Tollywood release has now started. The positive trend in the pre-sales is surely a sign of a massive opening and box-office rampage in the USA market. As per the current speed, the trade circles are expecting the RRR USA premieres to fetch anywhere between $3 million to $5 million. If this actually happens, it would be a blockbuster opening and a much-needed push for the period action entertainer.

While the overseas market looks to be on the path to record openings, it’s the domestic market in AP that has been a worrying factor for SS Rajamouli and DVV Danayya. The duo met AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy and expressed their concerns over the regulated ticket prices in AP. They are now planning to ask for Rs. 300 ticket price for at least 10 days or for 2 weeks. While this seems too big a figure, as per Rajamouli, the CM responded positively to their request.

The film’s team is planning to implement the paid premieres and shows from 9 pm before the release day.

Beast is Vijay’s next film after his recent blockbuster Master. Master starred him alongside Vijay Sethupathi. The film released after Pandemic corona and managed to do big at the box-office. Vijay is now looking to score even more big with Beast now. Beast is being planned to be released in all Languages. Recent released first single of the film Arabic Kuthu became a sensation crossing more than 175 Million Views in one month on YouTube.

RRR is also being planned as a Pan-Indian film. It is also planned for release on 25 March. Rajamouli and team are planning to have the paid premiers on 24th march. The paid show is expected to start at 9 pm on 24th March across India. So the same is now followed by Vijay’s Beast. Beast is planned for April 14 release whereas KGF is also slated for release on 14 April in all Indian Languages. Let’s see how it works for Beast.

Perni Nani comments are a big shock to RRR team !

Director Rajamouli today met AP Cinematography Minister Perni Nani and appealed for the ticket price hike for his upcoming film RRR. This film is about to release on 25th March. The film stars Jr.NTR, Ram Charan and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. The film is planned as a Pan-Indian project and will release in all Indian Languages.

But due to the existing ticketing prices in AP, makers feel it is very difficult to score a big hit. Recently released Radhe Shyam too is suffering to have a hit tag. This film is also projected as a Pan-Indian film. Now RRR director Rajamouli feels that ticket prices should be increased for his film to Rs.300 for 10 days or atleast for 2 weeks. The same is being appealed by them to the Minister during his meeting.

But Minister didn’t say anything about the ticket prices hike for RRR. He spoke that Rajamouli came to meet and thank AP CM Jagan for the recent revised G.O. on ticket prices. He even said that they oppose benefit shows but 5th show can be screened. A checklist will be prepared to get additional hike for Ultra Big films and movies he said. He also said that such films can apply. Well these comments came as a shock to RRR team which is expecting a special treatment. Let’ see how government responds to their request.

The Kashmir Files heading towards 200 cr mark !

The Kashmir Files directed by Vivek Agnihotri starring Anupam Kher & Mithun Chakraborthy is setting box office on fire. The film which was released as a small film has all the potential to become a sleeper hit. The reviews and word of mouth for the film are increasing day by day. This can be witnessed through booking portals too. The film which has the backdrop of Kashmir’s once pandits is striking big in Hindi market.

Radhe Shyam which was released on the same day thought to be sole big film. But to everyone’s surprise Kashmir files is doing wonders. Radhe Shyam’s run is also challenged by Kashmir Files. Anupam Kher is now receiving praise from all sections for his performance. The film had a huge sunday with 15 cr nett and more theatres are being added for today and today’s collections are expected to be more than sunday’s which is historical.

The film is surely heading towards 200 cr mark incredibly. Earlier the same happened with Uri which was released as a small budget film but picked up it’s pace afterwards and became a blockbuster. Uri was based on the surgical strikes. Now Kashmir Files is also having the same run.

RRR songs are failing the create the buzz among audience

The RRR makers released the RRR Celebration Anthem a while ago and its safe to say that the movie lovers aren’t impressed. The song featured Tarak, Alia, and Charan and had some groovy steps. However, it was the beats and the overall composition which turned out to be a huge letdown. The same has been the case with other RRR songs as well.

For a movie of RRR’s level, it is important that at least a couple of songs end up as chartbusters. Not even a single RRR song has gone viral as planned. Even the Naatu Naatu song is famous for the dance step only. The overall response to the song is not so great.

While in Telugu, the star power of Tarak and Charan is enough to draw the crowds to the theatres, the other regions need solid audio to ensure massive footfalls. The lack of chartbuster music can act as a major disadvantage as we have seen in the case of Radhe Shyam.

Now the entire responsibility lies on movie promotions and other content that gets released. The teasers and trailers released so far have garnered great responses. The RRR team on the other hand is confident of the movie’s content. The lackluster response to the album is no worry for them at the moment. Let’s hope that the average RRR songs are compensated by thrilling sequences and well-captured emotions which Rajamouli specializes in.
