Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu, the Numero Uno heroes of Tollywood had seen many hits and also many flops. They had many kisses of failures through their long career. Some of their films were released with great hype and ended up as disasters. Out of them stand Agnyathavaasi for Pawan Kalyan and Spyder for Mahesh Babu recently. The failures of these films made not only them but also their fans very upset. Now the same is also being experienced by Pan-Indian star Prabhas with his recent outing Radhe Shyam. Radhe Shyam has disappointed him big time.

Radhe Shyam starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde is about to end up as a disaster for Prabhas after a long decade. The film which was released in all Indian languages amidst huge hype had a disastrous run till now. The film has collected a share of Rs. 63 crs during the first weekend in Telugu. The theatrical business of the film is valued at Rs. 140 crs. The film is expected to cross not even Rs. 100 cr mark.

Both spyder and Agnyathavaasi failed to collect 50% of the theatrical business of their films. Now Radhe Shyam too is joining the list as it looks. More than Rs. 60 crs+ loss is expected only for Radhe Shyam’s Telugu Version. The film’s Hindi dubbed version is not so encouraging. It will also end up as a big disaster there.

‘RRR Movie bigger than Baahubali and Baahubali 2’: Rajamouli

0

RRR promotions are in full swing and Rajamouli along with Tarak and Charan are giving back-to-back interviews and attending events one after another. Earlier today, the trio attended another event where they shared a lot of snippets about the movie and spoke about numerous behind the scene incidents.

Rajamouli, who has been continuously expressing extreme confidence in RRR made a pretty bold statement at the event. Predicting the performance of the film at the box office, the ace director said that RRR will be bigger and better than Baahubali 1 as well as Baahubali 2. This statement from the filmmaker has heightened the expectations from fans to a great extent.

The director had earlier also spoken about some scenes in the movie and the impact they would have in theatres. “There is one sequence in the second half which we have not shown in the teaser or trailer. When that scene comes, I promise you every nerve of your body is going to be drawn tight,” he claimed.

Rajamouli also thanked Tarak and Charan for their extraordinary hard work on bringing his vision to life.

“You will forget to breathe but your heart will be beating faster. That’s the kind of performance these two gave in that sequence,” he added.

Maaran review – A half-baked attempt which is not worthy of Dhanush

0

Movie: Maaran
Rating: 2/5
Cast: Dhanush, Malavika Mohanan, Smruthi Venkat, Samuthirakani, Ameer Sultan, Aadukalam Naren, Ramki, Mahendran
Director: Karthick Naren
Streaming On: Hotstar
Release Date: 11th March, 2022

Story: Maaran (Dhanush) is an investigative journalist and his motto is to deliver only the truth to the public, a quality which he inherited from his father. This motto lands him in trouble while investigating a high-profile scam. How does he come clean from the mess he lands in, forms the rest of the story.

Performances: Dhanush has done a neat job in a role that doesn’t exploit the actor in him even one bit. Malavika Mohanan doesn’t have any scope to perform and she did not add any value to the film. Smruthi Venkat as Dhanush’s sister was good and is the only person who got some scope to perform. Samuthirakani, Ameer, Aadukalam Naren, Bose Venkat, Mahendran and several other known artists are completely wasted in roles that are written poorly and given very little scope to perform or even appear on the screen.

Analysis: Maaran is written by director Karthick Naren along with a few other talented writers. There is nothing in the writing which suggests that it’s written by a group of young and talented writers. In fact, even one person is more than sufficient to pen a half-baked script like this. This film aims to be an investigative action thriller with some emotions. The brother-sister portions were done sensibly because of which the first half is watchable enough but the film lacks strong thrills or high points. The fight sequences and GV Prakash’s background score are good. Apart from these, there is nothing working in favour of the film. Logic is completely forgotten and it goes to a laughable extent towards the climax.

Plus Points:

Fight sequences

Dhanush-Smruthi portions

Minus Points:

Age-old storyline

Illogical scenes

Weak characterisations and conflict

Verdict: Maaran is a forgettable outing for everyone involved, especially Dhanush and Karthick Naren. It is half-baked and lacks the most basic elements required to make a screenplay work. Short runtime saved the film from becoming a total bore-fest.

Netizens fire on Rajamouli ahead of RRR release

0

RRR release has made everyone right from unit members, die-hard fans, trade circles, and even the general audience quite tensed. The current prevailing situation in Andhra Pradesh has made it quite difficult for films to even achieve breakeven. And if the talk of the movie turns out to be negative like in the case of Radhe Shyam, then massive losses are guaranteed.

This is why SS Rajamouli and producer DVV Danayya have been quite anxious for the past few weeks. The duo even met AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy to discuss ticket hikes. However, this move has not gone down well with a lot of people.

Netizens slammed the director for seeking hikes on his movie despite already receiving it in Telangana. Many claim that Rajamouli’s move is anti-common man as already prices in Telangana are quite high. Now with him trying the same in AP, the move might deter people from watching it altogether.

RRR release is just 10 days away and at such a time, the director must be focused only on promotions and not on gaining one after other hikes. The pre-release business of the movie has been quite amazing and the USA pre-sales have crossed the $1.5 million mark. RRR is definitely on its way to bumper openings. Hence netizens are requesting the ace director to focus on bringing people to theatres rather than driving them away.

Suriya is continuously doing the same mistake

0

Suriya once used to be one of the bankable stars of the south. Each and every film he did challenged him and also impressed the audience. His stardom came with the blockbuster Ghajini which made him an overnight sensation not only in Tamil Nadu but also in AP/TS. His stardom increased more with another blockbuster Singam, released as Yamudu in Telugu. This was a big hit even in Telugu. The sequel film of Singam, Singam 2 released as Singam-Yamudu 2 was an even bigger blockbuster. But later films became failures and made him go down completely.

Suriya as said used to have a big market in Telugu. His Singam 2 had collected around 10 cr share in Telugu which is a sign of popularity once he used to have. Aakasam Nee Haddura and Jai Bhim which had an OTT release didn’t give him the much-needed relief. His recent theatrical film, ET too didn’t fare well. The film had a weak opening and the film did good only in TN and it was a disaster in other languages. On Monday the film had a disastrous run and witnessed drops. The film is heading towards a loss venture.

Suriya is doing his next film with director Bala. Bala is considered an outdated director. People don’t have any interest in watching his films. Suriya has to set a crazy combination and needs to deliver continuous blockbusters to bring back his stardom but he is doing the same mistake. He has to take a lot of care.
