Puneeth Raj Kumar’s James OTT release date out now

Puneeth Rajkumar’s James shattered many records on its opening day and stood as one of the biggest openers of the Kannada film industry ever. The film was released in a record number of screens and its release sparked massive celebrations across the state. The film has also created an all-time record opening with a good margin.

James was released in about 4000 screens worldwide making it one of the biggest Kannada releases. Such was the eagerness to catch Punneth for one last time that tickets were sold out even five days before the release in many centers.

The film’s OTT release date has also been locked. James will be streaming on Sony Liv from the 14th of April. It will release in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi. Appu, as he’s fondly called by his fans passed away on 29th October last year due to heart attack. His sudden demise left the entire state shell shocked. Appu’s elder brother Shiva Rajkumar has dubbed for the actor’s last film.

Chethan Kumar has directed this action entertainer Kishore Pathikonda has produced it under Kishore Productions. Priya Anand is playing the female lead and the extended cast features Anu Prabhakar, Srikanth, R Sarathkumar in key roles.

Suriya’s ET OTT release date Locked

Suriya’s Etharkkum Thunindhavan (ET) was released earlier this month to mixed reviews and decent openings. The Kollywood star pinned a lot of hopes on this project and hoped to make a roaring comeback to the big screens this time.

His last couple of films Soorari Pottru (Akasam Nee Hadduraa in Telugu) and Jai Bhim released directly on OTT. These films were well appreciated and Suriya’s performance received special acclaim. The release of ET in theatres filled fans with great anticipation and excitement. However, it looks like fans desire to see a big-screen success will have to wait.

After a decent opening weekend in TN, the film witnessed huge drop on weekdays. So looking at the numbers ET registered another flop at the box office for the actor. In other territories apart from TN, ET didn’t open well and saw huge drops in collections post opening weekend leaving Suriya fans disappointed

The film is now set for its OTT release. Suriya’s ET will now release on Netflix on April 7th. Pandiraj has directed this action thriller and Sun Pictures have bankrolled this ambitious project. Priyanka Arul Mohan featured opposite Suriya in this film

Rocking Star Yash’s KGF Chapter 2 is gearing up for a grand release next month on 14th. The film’s censor formalities were done yesterday amidst positive reports. Yash’s KGF Chapter 2 is 2 hours 48 minutes and 6 seconds in length and promises to be an engaging action thriller. The film has been given a UA rating and now all eyes are on next month 14th.

The countdown has begun with the release of its trailer last Sunday. The pre-release business of the movie is giving quite positive vibes and it is definitely on its way to a strong start. KGF2 Telugu version has also picked up steam and the solid pre-release business is proof of that.

The film stars Raveena Tandon, Sanjay Dutt, Prakash Raj, and Srinidhi Shetty among others. Prashant Neel is directing this action thriller and Hombale Films have produced it. After the massive success of the first installment, composer Ravi Basrur will look to repeat the same.

The makers of KGF 2 are looking to release the film in a whopping 6000 screens in India. Vijay’s Beast will release a day earlier and it’s going to be an incredible feat for Hombale Films. Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan’s Acharya has been subject to not one but many hurdles during the entire process. From multiple shoot delays due to COVID-19 to reshoots due to unsatisfactory scenes. The film has seen it all. The movie was also scheduled to release a lot earlier but was pushed due to COVID-19.

The makers have also been constantly confused regarding whether Acharya is a regional film or a Pan-Indian film. Chiranjeevi has also spoken about this confusion in the past. The film was originally planned for a Pan-Indian release but the makers decided to opt for a regional release itself.

After a while, the makers again opted for a Pan-Indian release, creating confusion among the fans. Now, the makers have again changed their minds and are portraying Acharya as a regional film. They are targeting only a Telugu release in the present situation.

This has come as a surprise as Ram Charan is currently in hot form, fresh off RRR’s success. It would have been smart to bank off of the success of his craze from RRR. The makers have also not started promotions for the film with only a month left for release. They need to start soon as there are multiple biggies lined up for release in the month of April.

KGF 2 Theatrical Business Is Now A Hot Topic In Industry

KGF 2 is one of the most anticipated movies to release in 2022. The film is coming off of a lot of steam with the teasers and trailers of the film posting humungous numbers on Youtube. The recently released trailer of the film received the most views for an Indian trailer in 24 hours.

Coming to the theatrical business of the movie, KGF 2 is doing record business in Andhra Pradesh as well as Telangana. It is on par, if not more than the top crop of Telugu cinema. KGF 2’s business is on par with the films of the Telugu stars.

In the two Telugu states the film is expected to do more than 75 Crores. What is fascinating is that the Part 1 collections are not even 20% of the estimated business for KGF 2.

This is currently a hot topic in the film industry. One section of the people are saying that KGF 2 will easily do 100 crores share as the buzz is sky-high. Whereas the other section believes that the distributors are taking a huge risk by valuing the theatrical business so high.

People are saying that the film will not recover such a huge amount as families are not interested in the film. It is to be seen which section of the people will prove right.

John Abraham’s latest flick Attack, a sci-fi super hero action thriller is getting ready for release. The team is promoting the film in Delhi with Jacqueline Fernandez, Rakul Preet Singh and director Lashya Raj Anand. Attack is releasing this Friday.

As a part of promotions, while talking to press, John Abraham made some shocking comments. In reply to the question asked about him acting in Prabhas’ Salaar, the bollywood hero told “I will never do a regional film. I am a Hindi film hero and will never do a film as a second lead just to be there. I am not going to do a Telugu or any regional film like other actors just to be in business”.

When asked to comment on RRR success, the Bollywood actor told media that “I have a lot of respect for Rajamouli, but we also have a lot of respect for what we have done. We are definitely not No.2 to anyone”. The actor’s next films are Ek Villain 2 and Pathaan.

Can Rajamouli’s RRR join the club of Baahubali 2 and 2.0

Hindi, Telugu, Tamil are the three biggest markets in Indian cinema. These three industries contribute the maximum in terms of collections. Despite a bunch of pan-India movies releasing of late, there are very few that managed to breach and succeed in all three. Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 and Shankar’s 2.0 are the only two films that have collected Rs 100 crores gross in all three markets.

These two films managed to set the box office on fire in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi and brought in never before collections to the filmmakers and distributors. In fact, Baahubali 2 even collected Rs 250 crores in all three markets.

Now the question arises in RRR can also repeat this feat and become the only third film to join this club. This Jr NTR and Ram Charan multistarrer has already crossed Rs 100 crores in Telugu as well as Hindi. In Tamil, RRR has collected Rs 50 crores gross and needs Rs 50 crores more to enter this prestigious multilingual Rs 100 crores club. We need to wait and watch to see how the collections unfold now.

RRR is having a very good hold in Telugu States post the 1st weekend. The film has collected a share of 14Crs from AP/TG on the 5th day which is never before in Tollywood. Overall it collected a share of 170.23Crs in 5 Days from Telugu States and 244Crs from Worldwide (Only Telugu version)

Hero Gopichand is coming to theatres after seetimar with action and comedy entertainer Pakka Commercial. Uv Creations and GA2 pictures are the producers and Maruthi is the director. Gopichand’s last outing Seetimar is a commercial sports drama and fared well at box office. He is coming again with a commercial entertainer. Rashi Kanna is pairing up with Gopichand in Pakka Commercial. Pakka commercial also features well known actors Satyaraj, Rao Ramesh and Anasuya. Maruthi is known for his comedy entertainers and Pakka commercial is going to be one in them. The Film is scheduled to release on 1st July, 2022.

Panja Vaishnav Tej is coming up to clash with Gopichand on the same day. Uppena’s hero is getting ready with his romantic entertainer Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga. Romantic and Lakshya’s fame Ketika Sharma is pairing up with Vaishnav Tej in this Gireesaaya Tollywood directorial debut under SVC banner. The director’s previous movie is Arjun Reddy’s remake Adithya Varma in Tamil. DSP is composing the music for this love story. Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga is also scheduled to release on 1st July. So let’s see how this clash will fare at box office.
