ఇటీవల విడుదలైన లైగర్ సినిమా దారుణంగా పరాజయం పాలైన సంగతి తెలిసిందే. అయితే ఆ సినిమా భారీ డిజాస్టర్ గా నిలిచిన తర్వాత, చాలా మంది డిస్ట్రిబ్యూటర్లు, ఎగ్జిబిటర్లు భారీ స్థాయిలో నష్టాలను ఎదుర్కొన్నారు. 90 కోట్లకు పైగా లైగర్ సినిమా తాలూకు సౌత్ ఇండియా హక్కులను మొత్తంగా కొనుగోలు చేసిన ప్రముఖ డిస్ట్రిబ్యుటర్ వరంగల్ శ్రీను ఈ సినిమా వల్ల విపరీతమైన నష్టాన్ని చవిచూశారు.

ఈ ఫలితం తరువాత లైగర్ సినిమా చిత్ర బృందం వ్యవహరించిన తీరుతో శీను కలత చెందారు. ఎందుకంటే 50 కోట్లకు పైగా నష్టం అంటే ఎవరికైనా పెద్ద విషయమే కదా. అయితే, వరంగల్ శ్రీను ఇటీవల లు చిత్రం గురించి కొన్ని ఆశ్చర్యకరమైన వ్యాఖ్యలు చేశారు.క్లైమాక్స్ మినహా లైగర్ చాలా మంచి సినిమా అని వరంగల్ శ్రీను పేర్కొన్నారు. సినిమాలో చాలా సన్నివేశాలు అద్భుతంగా ఉన్నాయి, ప్రేక్షకులు అలరించే అంశాలు ఉన్నాయి అని అన్నారాయన. కానీ చివరి సన్నివేశాలు మాత్రమే కాస్త నెగటివ్ అయ్యాయని అన్నారు. ఒక్క క్లైమాక్స్‌ మినహా సినిమాలోని మిగతా పోర్షన్‌లు ఆకట్టుకునెలా ఉన్నాయని అని అన్నారు వరంగల్ శ్రీను.

ఇక లైగర్ వైఫల్యానికి ప్రేక్షకులదే తప్పు అనేలా వరంగల్ శ్రీను మాట్లాడారు. చాలా మంది ప్రజలు సినిమాని చూడకుండానే నెగిటివ్ రివ్యూలను, టాక్ ను ప్రచారం చేస్తున్నారని శ్రీను తీవ్రంగా వ్యాఖ్యలు చేశారు. ఈ ప్రకటనలు ప్రేక్షకులను షాక్‌కి గురిచేశాయి. సినిమా ఫ్లాప్ అయితే ప్రేక్షకులను నిందించటం ఏంటని పలువురు సినీ వర్గాలు అభిప్రాయపడుతున్నాయి.

After a phenomenal box office showcase by Tollywood in August, there were a lot of hopes at the start of September. Except for Liger, most of the releases in August were blockbusters at the box office, giving a much-needed sigh of relief to distributors and exhibitors.

There were 3 new movies that were released this week. Chiyaan Vikram’s Cobra was released during the Ganesha festival and enjoyed a terrific opening day at the box office. But it failed to create the same momentum in the coming days. Although, the buyers will not be in any major losses due to the lower costs involved.

There were also two Telugu movies that were released with relatively low hype. Vaishnav Tej’s Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga and Anudeep KV’s First Day First Show were released on 2nd September.

Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga opened to very average opening day numbers. The word of mouth around the film quickly spread and the film crashed on the second day. Cobra’s Telugu dubbed version collected more than Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga. It is proving to be a massive loss for buyers. They are expected to lose more than 70% of the money spent.

The next release is Anudeep’s First Day First Show. First Day First Show is a total washout. Overall, this weekend was a disaster for the industry.

Vetrimaaran will jump back to Suriya’s Vaadivaasal after he is done with Viduthalai. Much like Viduthalai, Vaadivaasal is also set in the village background like a lot of Vetrimaaran films.
