Samantha’s Yashoda was released in theatres on 11th November and was received with mixed responses and decent collections at the box office. The film took a good start and then slowed down after the public talk. For a medium-range film, public talk is crucial and as a result, Yashoda could not post significant collections.
The film was planned to release on OTT immediately after the theatrical run but due to a legal issue with Eva IVF hospital, it was postponed. For some context, Eva was also the name of the hospital used in Yashoda. In the movie, the hospital is shown in a bad light and this has hurt the sentiments of the hospital. As a result, Eva took the matters to the court.
But it looks like this mess has now been sorted out. It seems to have been a simple case of misunderstanding and coincidence. The issue has now been resolved and Yashoda is all set to stream on Amazon Prime from 9th December.
Yashoda stars a fantastic Samantha, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Unni Mukundan, and Divya Sripada in prominent roles. It has been written and directed by the duo of Hari-Harish. Sivalenka K Prasad is the producer of the movie and the music is by iconic music director Mani Sharma.
