సంక్రాంతి 2023 సినిమాలకు సంబంధించి అధికారిక ప్రకటన వచ్చినప్పుడు ప్రేక్షకులు చాలా ఆనందంగా ఉత్సాహంగా స్పందించారు. దీనికి ప్రధాన కారణం అటు టాలీవుడ్, ఇటు కోలీవుడ్ రెండు పెద్ద సినిమాల మధ్య పోటీ జరగడమే. టాలీవుడ్ లో వీరసింహారెడ్డి, వాల్తేరు వీరయ్య ద్వారా బాలయ్య వర్సెస్ చిరు పోటీ జరగగా, కోలీవుడ్ లో అజిత్ వర్సెస్ విజయ్ పోటీ తునివు, వారిసు సినిమాల రూపంలో జరిగింది.

వంశీ పైడిపల్లి అయినా, హెచ్ వినోద్ అయినా, బాబీ అయినా, గోపీచంద్ మలినేని అయినా అందరూ కేవలం కమర్షియల్ ఎలిమెంట్స్ పైనే కాకుండా కంటెంట్ పైనే దృష్టి పెట్టాలని ప్రేక్షకులు, విమర్శకులు సూచిస్తున్నారు. ఈ దర్శకులెవరూ కనీసం డీసెంట్ కంటెంట్ కూడా ఇవ్వకుండా సంక్రాంతి సీజన్ వంటి మంచి అవకాశాన్ని వృధా చేసుకున్నారు అని అందరూ అంటున్నారు.

Wednesday release affected very badly for both Thunivu and Varisu

Varisu and Thunivu released for Pongal 2023 amidst huge expectations, with fans eager to watch Vijay vs Ajith clash once again at the box office. Both the films received mixed reviews, and it was the stardom of Thala and Thalapathy which got the films off to a a great opening despite varied word of mouth.

Varisu opened with above-average reports and Thunivu with average reports, pre-festival and mixed word of mouth affected both movies. On opening day too Thunivu had an excellent opening and Varisu, comparatively, had a lower opening. The second day saw further drops in collection because of the working day effect. However, both these films were expected to grow tall on festival days.

However, both films have witnessed a a considerable drop on day 3 too In Tamil Nadu and both film’s 3rd day numbers are disappointing in all territories. The buyers had informed the producers that Wednesday is a bad date but still makers released both the films on Wednesday.

Now seeing the results, the trade circles are expecting Varisu and Thunivu should jump from today at least and cash the Weekend to get maximum numbers.

H Vinoth has directed this heist action drama Thunivu while Boney Kapoor produced it. Thunivu/ Thegimpu marks the third collaboration between Ajith, Vinoth, and Boney Kapoor.

Before Thunivu, the trio worked in Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai. Apart from Ajith Kumar, the film features Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, and John Kokken in key roles.

Vijay’s Varisu also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sarathkumar, Jayasudha, Srikanth, Sham, and Prakash Raj in important roles. Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Cinema is bankrolling this project, directed by Vamsi Paidipally.

This festive season saw the release of four Sankranti biggies each starring top Tollywood and Kollywood stars Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Ajith, and Vijay. Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya, Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy, Ajith’s Thunivu, and Vijay’s Varisu have all been released and the verdict is out.

All these Sankranti biggies got mixed reviews and special applause for the lead actors. Varisu, Thunivu, and Veera Simha Reddy have already seen massive drops on Day 2. The festival has now begun and today’s performance will decide the fate of each and every movie releases for Pongal.

All these movies are star-studded projects with heavy budgets and massive investments made. And they need to continuously outperform their competition for the next few days to recover the costs.

The movies should run with Housefull and overflows from today’s matinee shows. From Today till Tuesday, these 4 days’ the movies should perform with continuous housefuls to use Sankranti advantage and achieve blockbuster status.

Shruthi Haasan is the leading lady in both the films which have been released for this Sankranti. Maybe she felt that she got a good chance to get the limelight back again on her with appearing in Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy.

However, she would be disappointed with the response coming for her character and scenes in both the films. Reviewers and the public have given a unanimous opinion that her scenes are the minus point for Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy.

The lead pair scenes in commercial entertainers are very crucial for the to get the family audience towards the theaters, but in both movies the lead pair looked odd, and the scenes also gave a boring feeling for the crowd.

Atleast in Waltair veerayya it was okay as Sruthi Haasan’s character had some importance story wise, but in Veera Simha reddy Shruti Hassan scenes have become biggest minus for the movie. No one has enjoyed those scenes and the audience got irritated and commented that her scenes have killed the momentum of the film.

Meanwhile, during the promotions, Sruthi Haasan sounded very confident about her roles in both the films. When asked whether there will be a comparison between her characters, she said both differ greatly from each other.

“The stories, as well as my characters in both the movies, are different from each other. There is a fun touch to my role in Veera Simha Reddy. My character in Waltair Veerayya will be entirely different.” Sruthi Haasan told.

When the official announcement regarding Sankranti 2023 films was made, it was received with sheer joy and great excitement. The main reason behind it was that both Tollywood and Kollywood would see two of their biggest clashes ever. While Tollywood had Balayya vs Chiru through Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya, Kollywood had Ajith vs Vijay in form of Thunivu and Varisu.

While fans got to witness their favourite stars on screen for Sankranti 2023, the movie’s response from all the areas has not been as per expectations. None of the movies have received a unanimous talk from the audience and the directors are overhyping and reacting too excitedly in promotions. The audience is quite stunned looking at the overconfidence of the directors in the interview as the content is very regular and routine.

The audience and critics have pointed out that whether it is Vamsi Paidipally, H Vinoth, Bobby, or Gopichand Malineni, all must focus on content and not just commercial elements. None of these directors have given at least given decent content and have wasted the Sankranti opportunity.

The only positive they did is showing the lead actor in the best way only this was a plus point for the movies as Balakrishna, Chiranjeevi, Ajith, and Vijay carried off their respective films quite well.

Tamil Superstar Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu dubbed version Vaarasudu is releasing tomorrow, but the film’s bookings are not encouraging. Vaarasudu bookings are certainly will give a big shock to the film’s producer Dil Raju and director Vamsi Paidipally.

Vijay did this film with the combination of a Telugu director and one of the top producers of the Telugu Film Industry, and the unit also tried to publicize this film as a bilingual.

However, Vaarasudu bookings suggest that the film has the least buzz among the Telugu audience. Even if we compare this film’s bookings with Vijay’s recent movies, it is very less.

Vijay’s recent films with other Tamil directors have created much more buzz and what’s more surprising is Varisu which is directed by Telugu Director Vamsi Paidipally has almost zero impact among movie-goers.

Vaarasudu is bankrolled by Dil Raju and Shirish’s Sri Venkateswara Creations. The music for the film is composed by Thaman S, Karthik Palani is the cinematographer, and edited by National Award-winning editor K. L. Praveen.

Apart from Vijay, the film also features Rashmika Mandanna, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Srikanth, Shaam, Yogi Babu, Sangeetha, and Samyuktha among others.

Varisu was dropped on January 11th and received average response and collections. Now we have to see how the Telugu Version Vaarasudu fares at the box office and what kind of feedback it receives from the audience. Let’s wish Dil Raju and unit all the best.
