Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya has now achieved a massive milestone on just the second day. Directed by Bobby, this action entertainer has now entered the prestigious $1 million club in the USA. The film registered solid occupancies on its first day and continued the same today as well.

This is the third Megastar film to have achieved this landmark and the first film of this year to achieve this. The breakeven of the film is around $2 million mark and the film needs to continue this momentum for the next 3 days to achieve breakeven.

18 Pages is coming to OTT, the film released in December last year received positive talk and did decent business at the box office. According to the reports, the film will be streamed from January 27th on dual OTT platforms. The first OTT platform is Aha, while the second is Netflix.

Star Director Sukumar provided story for Nikhil Siddhartha starrer ’18 Pages’, his disciple Surya Pratap directed the film. Anupama Parameswaran acted opposite Nikhil in this movie, which impressed the youth audience with its feel-good factor and beautiful songs.

Allu Aravind, one of the top producers in Tollywood presented this film and Bunny Vasu produced it. Nikhil Siddharth played the character of Siddu and Anupama Parameswaran played the character of Nandini.

Siddhu (Nikhil Siddharth), an app developer, loves a girl, but she cheats on him. This pushes Siddhu into depression and, during this, he runs across Nandini’s (Anupama Parameswaran) diary on a road.

Siddhu starts reading it, and slowly he falls for her. Siddhu learns many interesting facts about Nandini and when he tries to find her a big twist breaks into the tale. What is it? Did he see her? Did Siddhu express his feelings for Nandhini? This forms the crux of the film.

In the last few years, Mythri Movie Makers have emerged as a name to reckon with in Tollywood. The production house has produced some of the biggest Telugu blockbusters with the biggest stars in the industry and also plans of entering Bollywood.

They recently entered the distribution business in Nizam area- a region that is traditionally dominated by Dil Raju and Asian Group. Mythri Movie Makers started the distribution office in Nizam and released Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy. Both these movies got off to a sensational start in Nizam by collecting 7Cr+ share on opening day.

On 1st day Veera Simha reddy collected 7.1Cr including GST and Waltair Veerayya collected 7.15 Cr including GST. This is a huge start for Mythri Movie Makers.

This Sankranti season has already become heated up due to Dil Raju’s decision to release a dubbed movie- Varasudu in competition with straight Telugu films made by Mythri Movie Makers. While it all is a part of business, many are calling out his hypocrisy as just 3 years Dil Raju called for a priority to be given to straight Telugu films over other language dubbed versions.

Right from getting screens from exhibitors to releasing two big films successfully for Sankranti, it has been a big struggle for Mythri in Nizam and it is finally paid off.

Waltair veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy both movies are facing a shortage of theatres and shows because of Vaarasudu releasing today. There is a heavy demand for the tickets for these two films.

Dil Raju holds good number of theaters for Varasudu which is a big plus point for the film. For many days, the controversy regarding the theater’s allocation for this film in Telugu States has been in the discussions of industry circles and movie-goers.

కనీసం వాల్తేరు వీరయ్యలో శ్రుతిహాసన్ పాత్రకు కథ పరంగా కొంత ఇంపార్టెన్స్ ఉంది కాబట్టి ఓకే అనుకోవచ్చు కానీ వీరసింహారెడ్డిలో మాత్రం శ్రుతిహాసన్ సీన్స్ సినిమాకు బిగ్గెస్ట్ మైనస్ అని చెప్పాలి. ఆ సన్నివేశాలను ఎవరూ ఆస్వాదించలేకపోయారు. ప్రేక్షకులు అయా సన్నివేశాల పై చిరాకుపడి ఆమె సన్నివేశాలు సినిమా వేగాన్ని చంపేశాయని వ్యాఖ్యానించారు.

ఇదిలా ఉంటే ప్రమోషన్స్ లో శృతిహాసన్ ఈ రెండు సినిమాల్లో తన పాత్రల పై చాలా కాన్ఫిడెంట్ గా కనిపించారు. మీ పాత్రల మధ్య పోలిక ఉంటుందా అని ఒక ఇంటర్వ్యూలో అడిగినప్పుడు, రెండూ ఒకదానికొకటి చాలా భిన్నంగా ఉంటాయని ఆమె చెప్పారు.

This Sankranti saw the release of four biggies across the Telugu and Tamil film industries. From Tollywood, it was Veera Simha Reddy that released on 12th January, and Waltair Veerayya that released on 13th January. Kollywood saw the release of Ajith’s Thunivu and Vijay’s Varisu which both released on 11th January.

All four movies were released amidst massive expectations but it was Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy that has taken the day 1 honours. With an opening day share 28.63 Cr veera Simha Reddy has emerged as the biggest opening day share in South Indian Pongal biggies (Waltair Veerayya, Thunivu, and Varisu ) are the other biggies.

In Tamil Nadu, it was Ajith’s Thunivu that reigned supreme where as Varisu held the lead on day 1 collections in the overseas market.

All these Sankranti biggies got mixed reviews and special applause for the lead actors. Varisu, Thunivu, and Veera Simha Reddy have already seen massive drops on Day 2. The festival has now begun and today’s performance will decide the fate of each and every movie releases for Pongal.
