Captain Miller doing record business for Dhanush

Dhanush’s upcoming period action-adventure film Captain Miller is made on a massive budget and is one of the most ambitious projects of his career. The film looks completely different in style and Dhanush’s looks have received a very good response. Captain Miller is releasing in theatres on 15th December and it is doing a record business for Dhanush.

The movie’s overseas rights were bought by Lyca for Rs 10Cr. This is a sensational price for tier 2 Tamil Heros. Captain Miller is also getting very good offers in all territories of India. Business-wise, this will be the biggest for Dhanush in both theatrical and non-theatrical rights. The period film is written and directed by Arun Matheswaran of ‘Rocky and Saani Kaayidham’ fame. The film is billed as an action-adventure drama set in the pre-Independence era.

The film features Dhanush, Shiva Rajkumar, Priyanka Mohan, Nivedhithaa Sathish, John Kokken and Moor in important roles. GV Prakash Kumar composed the songs and original score for the movie, which is bankrolled by Sathya Jyothi Films.

Leo is coming with the biggest combination of Kollywood as Thalapathy Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj are joining hands for the film. After Guntur Kaaram, Trivikram is supposed to work with Allu Arjun. But Allu Arjun has suddenly decided to go for Atlee after Pushpa 2. If Atlee and Allu Arjun’s project actually materializes, then Trivikram will have ample time for one more film and Chiranjeevi is ready to work parallelly as well

After Corona Wave, somehow the audiences are losing the interest in most of the films before release itself. The promotional content plays a very key role in a film’s success, more than the more than the word of mouth and reviews. If the audiences feel positive with promotional content, then even if movies gets below average – average talk and reviews, they are seeing excellent numbers at the box office.

At the same time, if the audiences are not pleased with the promotional content and some negative buzz is created before the release, then those movies fail to get a good opening and the audience are not coming to theaters even if the movie gets average – above-average talk for those movies as well.

In industry, most of the films open with mixed word of mouth and only a few films can open with unanimous positive response. For films that get mixed reviews, films pre-release buzz plays a very key role.

The makers should understand at least now and should not take the audience for granted, and they should only release the promotional content which works before release, or otherwise they will have to suffer losses.

Directors in a dream world, sequel idea hurting films

As Baahubali and KGF along with some Bollywood sequels created magic at the box office, the trend for a bigger and grander sequel began. More and more directors are leaning towards doing film franchises or sequels and telling the story in 2 or sometimes even three parts. This is causing to be a big problem for the producers.

If the content really has the potential to be a franchise or sequel then there is no problem. But the problem is that directors are making plans for sequels for even some regular commercial films which is backfiring. By planning a sequel way ahead the team hides some part of the film for part 2 which is extremely crucial for the sequel’s success. But, if that surprise element itself is not interesting, then there will be no anticipation for the sequel which is happening for most films now.

In most of the recent films sequel is being pre-planned without any interesting hook to keep the audience guessing and waiting for the sequel. Due to this unnecessary focus on making a film in 2 parts, 1st part itself is becoming a failure leaving little scope of part 2. The makers should now come out of this dreamy world and think multiple times whether content really demands a sequel or not

Salaar team to release two trailers to double the excitement

Ever since the new release date announcement from the Salaar team came, the fans of Prabhas are very excited about the film and waiting for the updates. It is widely known that the pan-Indian film, Salaar’s makers recently announced that the film will be released on December 22nd, and it will have a clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki. The inside reports suggest an interesting news about the film. It is said that Salaar team will release two trailers to double the excitement in the fans.

Reportedly, Salaar team in plans to release two theatrical trailers, one trailer is said to be released on 23rd October on the occasion of Prabhas’s birthday and the 2nd trailer will be released before the release date. This will be big news for the fans and even for the neutral audiences. Truly, it is an excellent strategy from the team of Salaar.

As per the initial plan, Salaar film should have been released in this week, but there was a delay in post-production and Prashant Neel also felt that the CG work was not impressive, and he wanted to reshoot a few scenes with some changes. The shoot is currently happening, and simultaneously the post-production works are happening as well. Prashant Neel is one such a director who does not want to release the film until he is 100% satisfied with the output.

Salaar is directed by KGF Series maker Prashanth Neel film. The film stars Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Easwari Rao in key roles. Ravi Basrur is the music director of the film.

This Sunday’s Episode started with Nagarjuna entering the bigg boss house with dancing to the song of Kamal Haasan’s Vikram. Nagarjuna at first asked a few questions to the crowd and asked who was their favorite contestant. Then he moved on to chat with the contestants, where Shivaji asked him why he was not eligible to be a housemate.

Nagarjuna said that the majority of the contestants voted against him and whether the contestants were right or wrong it will be decided by the audiences. He also asked Shobha why did she vote against Shivaji, she said he was partial in deciding the nominations. Nagarjuna said Shobha’s reasons were not solid, and she was also a bit partial with the other contestants. He also stated that Shivaji was not partial and all the decisions of the jury were taken with team work only.

Sandeep, Gautam, and Priyanka also told their reasons, but Nagarjuna was not satisfied, and he asked the contestants to take decisions with thinking carefully. After that, Nagarjuna made the contestants play a funny games like guessing the movie name and comparing the behavior of them to an animal along with the saving of the nominated contestants.

Rathika and Teja were the last two contestants in the nominated contestants. Finally, Rathika was eliminated, and she became the fourth female contestant to be eliminated from the house. Visibly, she was very upset with getting eliminated so early.

Like in every elimination episode, her journey video was played, and she was asked to tell the negative quality of 6 contestants. Rathika said that Prince Yawar should control his anger, while she said Shivaji should mingle with every contestant. Vishal enters the 100Cr Club with Mark Antony – An unexpected blockbuster

Tamil Hero Vishal has scored an unexpected blockbuster with his latest film, Mark Antony. Before the trailer’s release there was no buzz, but the trailer worked well and created excellent buzz and even after the release it opened with excellent numbers because of the positive talk and the film created a box office rampage in all Tamil markets. The film has become the first 100Cr Grosser for Vishal.

In Tamil Nadu the movie has joined the 60Cr Gross club, while in Overseas the film has collected around 2.2Million Dollars and in Kerala, Karnataka also the film does well. Only in Telugu States the movie did not work as expected and the film will be joining the 100Cr club worldwide with today or tomorrow’s numbers. This will be the 1st 100Cr film for Vishal as said above.

The fans have been greatly impressed by Director Adhik Ravichandran’s entertaining and quirky screenplay, while SJ Suryah’s terrific performance had taken the show by storm. Vishal also made the most of his chance and scored well in certain scenes to impress his fans. The film’s new idea has impressed one and all. The music of GV Prakash Kumar has been highly effective, as the composer’s recreation of a few classic Tamil songs has caused the audience to go crazy in theaters with whistling and hooting.

Mark Antony has a stellar cast which includes Vishal and S J Suryah in dual roles, as well as Ritu Varma, Selvaraghavan, Sunil, and Abhinaya in other important roles.

The film’s story revolves around two gangsters, Mark and Antony, who contact through a mobile phone which has an extraordinary ability to travel back in time. This intriguing storyline and narration has impressed the audiences very much, making it a must-watch film.

The race of Sankrathi 2024 has heated up with Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam also joining the fray. While Lal Salaam has the veteran star in a cameo role, his look and presence in the movie has created enough buzz for it.

Sankranthi 2023 was a fairly simple one with 4 biggies releasing. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya and Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy ruled the Telugu states. Ajith’s Thunivu and Vijay’s Vaarisu on the other hand set the box office on fire in Tamil Nadu. For next year though, there are as many as 8 movies vying for best theatres and shows.
